- phishneslo, on 10/01/2008, -0/+26it doesn't look like the round hole can fit my Mad Dog 20/20...
- gorgeoussand, on 10/01/2008, -1/+20Sounds good to me.
- santaliqueur, on 10/03/2008, -1/+19Even if this thing did work, you could just take the $700 and buy a ***** of good wine.
- Muncher, on 10/03/2008, -1/+19It recreates the effects of decades of aging, making you impotent.
- knowitman, on 10/03/2008, -0/+14"It works on any alcohol that tastes better aged, even a bottle of paintstripper whisky can taste like an 8-year-aged single malt."
I call BS. The better taste through aging whisky comes from compounds and sugars absorbed through from the barrels. - omjeremy, on 10/03/2008, -2/+16Haven't I seen this in airplane magazine 5 years ago? I call shenanigans.
- eeemart, on 10/03/2008, -1/+14yeah, but it needs some flames painted on the sides.
- geekmansworld, on 10/02/2008, -4/+16Wow. I'm eager to see what more tasting experts have to say on this method. If it indeed has merit, it could change the whole industry, and certainly give a boost to amateur winemakers.
- wily6, on 10/03/2008, -0/+11Ultrasounds good to me.
- theotheragentm, on 10/03/2008, -2/+12So THAT'S what the Hadron Collider is all about. Booze!
- apollyon, on 10/03/2008, -3/+13FTA: ""I would like to see it used on some of the Mediterranean varieties like a Rioja or a Shiraz."
Uhh... Reality check here: While Rioja is primarily a Spanish varietal, "Shiraz" is the AUSTRALIAN name for Syrah. A grape which is grown and successfully bottled worldwide. Syrah is its name throughout europe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syrah - mrgodai, on 10/03/2008, -2/+11I'm waiting to hear news of someone putting their 8==D inside that thing.
- scabbers, on 10/03/2008, -1/+9LOL he "took away" the bottle and "brought it back aged".
- inactive, on 10/03/2008, -1/+9snake oil
- liiv3354, on 10/03/2008, -0/+7Any energy affects alcohol. You can shake the bottle for a very long time with similar results. So says Bill!
- FlorenceW, on 10/01/2008, -2/+9i bet sarkozy's got one
- DforSpiD, on 10/03/2008, -0/+6I think you should have that looked at...
- mediahaze, on 10/03/2008, -2/+7NAY NAY NAY!!! Not only will it turn rubbing alchool into Gin... It turns blond hair into golden string!
- inactive, on 10/01/2008, -1/+6Cool.... hmmm.. I just wonder if the wine that comes out of this machine, is really fine wine...
- FeartheKnighted, on 10/03/2008, -2/+6And if you buy now they'll throw in some ocean front property in Arizona.
- dstz, on 10/03/2008, -0/+4Proper barrels are pretty important in the aging of some red wines. How can ultrasounds emulate this? and, reading a page about the chemistry of wine aging, I wonder how so many chemical processes can possibly be emulated by ultrasounds too... if anything, this machine maybe make bad wine a little less horrible by breaking done the taste a bit...?
- ixid, on 10/03/2008, -1/+5You seem to be under attack by plebs.
- Hanny26, on 10/03/2008, -1/+5I wonder what it would do to natty light...
- supermanly, on 10/03/2008, -1/+5BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY
- seraph582, on 10/03/2008, -0/+4because babies need hormones to "age" and wine doesn't?
- bipolarruledout, on 10/03/2008, -0/+4Yes except that plonk doesn't get better with age, the stuff has to be decent to begin with and about 90%+ of wines just aren't suitable for aging for long periods of time... but fortunately most people just take it home and drink it and industry knows this. If it actualy works this will be interesting.
- inactive, on 10/03/2008, -0/+4Hmmmm the things I could do with this... muhaaha muhahahah MUHAHAHAHHAHAA
- FairDinkumMate, on 10/03/2008, -0/+3Absolutely! Although the machine may do what it claims(which is to artificially age the wine), the article claiming that this will make 'plonk' into beautiful wine is naive & uninformed. Writing as though age was the only factor in making a good wine makes the author of the article sound very uninformed.
- MasterGrief, on 10/03/2008, -0/+3Trouble ahead, trouble behind...
- diggstown, on 10/03/2008, -0/+3But your Boones will fit.
- palehorse864, on 10/03/2008, -0/+3Digg him down all you want, but that was clever.
- bipolarruledout, on 10/03/2008, -0/+3I don't know why this is getting dug down. If the thing actualy works than watch out. For better or for worse the french are all ready too stubborn to embrace modern production techniques of the new world.
- jcharak58, on 10/03/2008, -6/+9douche
- bolophojep, on 10/03/2008, -0/+3God, Digg buries people with more than half a clue and diggs idiots.
- apollyon, on 10/03/2008, -0/+3If anyone wants to buy one and provide us with an unbiased review, you can order it here: http://www.inventors-showcase.com/inc/sdetail/41
I'm looking in Your Direction, Mr. Vay-ner-chuk. - Bjango, on 10/03/2008, -0/+3Science rules!
- quiggibub, on 10/03/2008, -0/+3What does alcohol being absorbed by the kidneys have to do with hangovers? And how does vibrating alcohol change it? If it changes, it's no longer alcohol. I really doubt this machine works.
- c0st1k, on 10/03/2008, -0/+3Dugg for the use of shenanigans, but i swear to god ill pistol whip the next guy who says shenanigans
- Taiyoryu, on 10/03/2008, -0/+3As long as products are labeled as being artificially aged, I have nothing against artificially aged wines being introduced into the market. Let the consumer decide what they want as long as they are well-informed.
- stephhicks68, on 10/03/2008, -0/+3I don't believe it at all. Heck, I want to. But what do they say about "if it sounds too good to be true...?"
- ninjaberry, on 10/03/2008, -0/+3What'll it do to a bottle of Thunderbird?
- mattycoze, on 10/03/2008, -0/+2Why are digg members digging this klekamp's point down? Klekamp makes a good point.
- bipolarruledout, on 10/03/2008, -0/+2Wouldn't surprise me... but you never know. It's certainly an industry that tends to attract people with more money than common since.
- diggstown, on 10/03/2008, -3/+5But can it tell the sex of the wine?
- DigitAl56K, on 10/03/2008, -0/+2Ultrasound has nothing to do with microwave.
Ultrasound is high frequency oscillations, microwaves are electromagnetic radiation. - kawaiirobo, on 10/03/2008, -0/+2I don't quite understand how this machine can make wine and liquor taste older and make orange juice taste fresher at the same time.
- inactive, on 10/03/2008, -0/+2shenanigans
- greatgatsbyII, on 10/03/2008, -0/+2How do you fit the box in that thing?
- LilJimmyNordin, on 10/03/2008, -0/+2Sounds like a pretty good achievement for a guy that wears a mask and kicks your ass with sporting goods.
TURTLE POWER! - kd1s, on 10/03/2008, -0/+2First the news that running cheap ass vodka through a Brita water filter improves the quality of the vodka. Now this.
Rejoice my fellow cheap bastards! -
