- FlyingPhotog, on 11/09/2008, -1/+82Don't dope your chickens before they hatch.
- consonance, on 11/09/2008, -2/+76Wow, essentially Tyson sued the USDA over what the definition of "is" is.
- marcabminion, on 11/09/2008, -2/+47Corporations care about you!
- spaceman84, on 11/09/2008, -3/+45Somehow I don't think that will stand up in court.
- donkeyshow, on 11/10/2008, -3/+39I thought this was gonna be about Mike Tyson.
He injects chickens??? - mrspurs16, on 11/09/2008, -6/+39Kevin Rose just Tweeted this... Get ready.
- chas46, on 11/09/2008, -0/+25 They then said that they would obey the regulation after having crossed their fingers behind their back.
- RedStormRising, on 11/10/2008, -1/+23Yay! Corporate loopholes! I never knew they tasted so hormone-inducedly good!
- Novacain, on 11/09/2008, -3/+24So that's how they get the baby chickens so juicy and crunchy at the same time.
- Subliminational, on 11/10/2008, -1/+22One reason livestock are given antibiotics is because they are raised in horrible conditions that tend to predispose them towards infections etc. If the companies would treat their animals humanely, there wouldn't be any problem with this....but then there's no money in being humane. Read the omnivore's dilemma...very good book.
- scully32, on 11/09/2008, -5/+25Prenatal care has never been so delicious.
- Jacob, on 11/10/2008, -1/+20Why would you think that has anything to do with hormones in your food. The easiest solution is usually the correct solution so why don't you ask your mom who your real dad is.
- MrSquirrel, on 11/09/2008, -5/+24What I want to know is, which part of the chicken is the nugget?
- seltaeb4, on 11/10/2008, -1/+18But it's a chicken from the moment of conception!
/s - sogetsu, on 11/09/2008, -0/+15Yes. Dope the hen instead.
- TBITS, on 11/10/2008, -1/+12***** Tyson's. They do nothing for the communities their plants are located in. I'd say they are almost as bad as walmart.
- cl2yp71c, on 11/10/2008, -3/+14That's *OM* a *NOM* disgrace. *NOM*
- spookyttws, on 11/10/2008, -1/+12I actually prefer my poultry to be vaccinated again things like Avian Flu and other common bird diseases that could be passed onto me. Just don't use retarded loopholes and label the damn thing correctly. If you're giving the bird antibiotics via any means at any period during their life cycle that means they are not antibiotic free.
- akchrs, on 11/10/2008, -1/+10Did you ever wonder why everyone in your family is oriental and you're not?
- SonicEarth, on 11/10/2008, -1/+10To get to the other side, idiot.
- Hanzolot, on 11/10/2008, -1/+10I couldn't stop laughing as they were all falling off the conveyor belt!
I can't imagine the fall hurts them too much though. They can't weigh much. - noahgelman, on 11/10/2008, -1/+9Then stay there!!! I'm on Digg, I don't give a ***** about Reddit and I don't need ***** updates about whats on their page. *****.
- nmanguy, on 11/10/2008, -1/+9By you and the two other Reddit users..
- Hermiesan, on 11/10/2008, -5/+13For every chicken you don't eat, I'm going to eat two
- ConsulSirW, on 11/09/2008, -2/+10You win this round, mrspurs!
- MacroDaemon, on 11/10/2008, -0/+7This narrator is awful. I prefer Tony Hirst.
- RedHeadedFreak, on 11/10/2008, -4/+11Obvious sarcasm aside, the job of a corporation is to make money for shareholders, not to care about us. It's our own responsibility to care for ourselves. Now, if enough people stopped eating Tyson because they didn't like antibiotics in their chicken, then I guarantee you Tyson would offer chicken with completely no antibiotics.
I feel like I'm just stating the obvious, but I think people get the wrong ideas about the roles of corporations when these stories pop up. - Swivelstick, on 11/10/2008, -0/+7Yep screw corporate responsibility let the ***** do what they want.
- ReidFleming, on 11/10/2008, -3/+9Proud of shortsightedness? Rewarding corporate greed at the potential expense of public health?
- natxavier, on 11/10/2008, -0/+6Wow ... one more reason to go vegetarian. Next they'll start dissecting the term "Free Range" in order to find a more suitable operational definition.
- mpastrana, on 11/09/2008, -2/+8Wow.
Why did Tyson Cross the road? ... - Elliuotatar, on 11/10/2008, -0/+6Man, I could care less about the antibiotics injections, but the fact that they're trying to trick people into eating things they're actively trying to avoid... that really burns me up. What are they going to try to sneak by people next? Lactose in their soy milk? Pork in their matzo crackers?
Tyson has just ensured that the next time I'm shopping for chicken, I'll avoid their brand. - sorrow, on 11/09/2008, -7/+12What came first -- the chicken or the antibiotic?
- ShugNinx21, on 11/10/2008, -3/+8And I will eat 2 baby seals and club a chicken.
- TBombadil, on 11/10/2008, -0/+5mmmmm injections
- Richandler, on 11/10/2008, -0/+5This is kinda funny, especially if you tie it to abortion. It's not killing if it's still in the womb right....?
Moral dilemmas are funny. - ReidFleming, on 11/10/2008, -0/+5True. There's money in both methods -- there's just far more in the non-humane way.
- dennyray, on 11/10/2008, -0/+5This was pretty informative. I used to eat tyson chicken largely inpart due to the no anti-biotics, I probably wont so much anymore
- inactive, on 11/10/2008, -0/+5It's all the ***** leftovers and trimmings. I work in a beef slaughterhouse, you don't want to know what Mc Donalds makes it's burgers from. You think that's prime cuts of beef they use? try ancient ex-miking cows that have had it (old and dying) and the sorriest looking cheaply raised bovines you'll ever see. now you know why I don't eat takeaway. We do the maccas contract among others, trust me on this, you are eating *****. Go to your local shop butcher, the old fashioned does it himself kind, and buy some real meat and chicken.
- mrsteveman1, on 11/10/2008, -2/+7Its on the left side, right behind the fritter
- inactive, on 11/10/2008, -1/+6You'd think you would have noticed this "someone" stabbing an epi pen in their leg when they ate if it was really any sort of issue.
- thegrantman, on 11/10/2008, -5/+9And I'll club a baby seal.
- P4Paarth, on 11/10/2008, -3/+7Quite ingenious, I must say...
- waydee, on 11/10/2008, -1/+5Most eggs are injected with antibiotics and immunisations prior to hatching - this is standard practice in the industry. Most of it not all of the large chicken mass 'farmers' (manufacturers) in Europe and the US will buy their eggs from only a handful of suppliers, all of whom will do this. If it concerns you that much (your concerns are better aimed at how these chickens will be treated after hatching) then you should look to small independent farmers, smallholders etc. who keep the entire process 'in-house' or from larger suppliers of guaranteed free-range & organic meat since there is less requirement for their birds to need these antibiotics and immunisations. Always read the labels and know where your dinner has come from.
- Jforsyth89, on 11/10/2008, -0/+4Some more hot chicks-on-conveyor-belt action:

- inactive, on 11/10/2008, -0/+3you just proved RedHeadedFreak's point.
- inactive, on 11/10/2008, -0/+3Holy ***** that's sneaky.
- howea, on 11/10/2008, -1/+4I think he is marketing chewy chicken ears.
