- MeccaOfManhood, on 04/29/2009, -0/+34I've tried Chimay Premiere and it's great. $30-$65 a bottle? Where, I paid $11 for it.
- ToTiredToCare, on 04/29/2009, -2/+35What? No PBR?
- bigthree, on 04/29/2009, -1/+32$525 for a bottle of beer!! That better come with a sexy hooker
- chicagojack, on 04/29/2009, -3/+28*****, Lite costs $10 at some strip clubs.....not that I go to strip clubs, somebody told me about it once
- dancecmdr, on 04/30/2009, -1/+24Fun fact- Chimay ale is actually made by Trappist monks, and any profits go to charities.
So you can get ***** and do good things at the same time! - Rachmaninov, on 04/29/2009, -0/+19A bottle of Westvleteren 12 cost much less and probably tastes much better than all those!
- Helspawn, on 04/30/2009, -1/+16World's most expensive beers <> the world's best beers
- chocolim, on 04/30/2009, -0/+14That 1000$ beer have to taste like Megan Fox
- speedk0re, on 04/30/2009, -1/+13Miller High Life is the champagne of beers... Miller is just, well, Miller...
- Scrappy1850, on 04/30/2009, -0/+12they made me figure my true tab for the night. it was over $4000 a beer.
- holzp, on 04/30/2009, -0/+11like bud light with tuna in it
- DforSpiD, on 04/30/2009, -0/+11So... you can't enjoy something because the hipsters enjoy it?
***** drink your beer... - TwistyMcFister, on 04/30/2009, -0/+10Pawtucket Patriot Ale
- Scrappy1850, on 04/30/2009, -0/+9fine+lawyers+cab fare (after i lost my license) DMV fees+drug and alcohol classes+time away from work. they made me add EVERYTHING up.
- jmenter, on 04/30/2009, -0/+9While the profits go to the charities, the beer itself is made by professional non-monk brewers. Monks oversee operations to a certain extent.
As far as I know, Brouwerij Westvleteren is the only Trappist brewery that is run entirely by monks. - woofers07, on 04/30/2009, -0/+9and an eightball.
- hoju1123, on 04/30/2009, -0/+8$11 I paid $9 at the ABC up the street
- RyomaNagare, on 04/30/2009, -1/+9More expensive does not always mean better.
some of the best beers in the world are quite cheap, Canadian unibroue are particularly good for the price.
I think I'll go buy some trois pistoles right now and its only like 2 usd, tax included, its probably cheaper there.
Also most belgian ale is not that expensive, "Chimay triple" the one from the picture, its only a little more expensive,
I prefer Gülden Draac anyway, only 3 usd a bottle. - Eurynom0s, on 04/30/2009, -0/+8Where the hell is this guy buying beer? Chimay Red for >$35 a bottle?
There's also equally or more pricey things he left off. I've spent $25 for a Brooklyn Black Ops; I've routinely seen gigantic bottles (1, 2, 3.5 L, stuff like that) for upwards of $50 depending on the beer and the size; and there are other beers I've not had because of how pricey the bottles were.
I dunno, I might take this list a bit more seriously if he hadn't listed Chimay Red as costing at LEAST $35. - holzp, on 04/30/2009, -0/+8I Drink and Digg
- Formaldehydex2, on 04/30/2009, -0/+7Don't know where they're getting those prices, I can get a 750 ml bottle of that Chimay Premiere at our local liquor store for $12.
- Sucka27, on 04/30/2009, -3/+10Those are the most expensive but these are the best:

I have 3 bottles of the Abyss aging right now. - Sucka27, on 04/30/2009, -0/+7But way harder to get unfortunately.
- MrBrotato, on 04/30/2009, -0/+7I'm too cheap to be reading this.
- Scrappy1850, on 04/30/2009, -0/+7very true, i was lucky i never hurt anyone
- Revolutionista, on 04/30/2009, -0/+7... The ones your friends put on your tab.
- NJank, on 04/30/2009, -0/+7$4000 a beer? a bargain compared to your potential costs...
- MYarms, on 04/30/2009, -0/+7what kind of bo bo list is this? buried as innacurate.
- serif69, on 04/30/2009, -0/+7With that on the list, I was half expecting to see Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA on there too, since it costs about $9/bottle in the real world. And tastes like beer turned up to 11.
- Latinbaseballer, on 04/30/2009, -0/+6Chimay $30-65? Maybe during prohibition, but down at Whole Foods it's $8 a bottle, which is still pretty steep for one beer.
- windycityhxc, on 04/30/2009, -0/+6I've got a bottle of Sam Adams Utopias sitting in my room with me right now. For me, it was worth the purchase. Thanks, student loan money, for allowing me to make irrational purchases!
- paperclipsNsoup, on 04/30/2009, -0/+6Maybe its just me but I'll happily pay $12US for a bottle of La Fin Du Monte, or Terrible.
Before I tried those I would have thought French Canadian Beer was about as useless as French Canadians /s - thespiff, on 04/30/2009, -0/+6Boo for Visual Basic.
- inactive, on 04/30/2009, -0/+6Tutankhamen Brew - $525/Bottle : Yeah! Who came up with that marketing scam...."we analyzed beer from the tomb of Nefrititi"....
- shyner, on 04/30/2009, -0/+5Trappist beers are pretty damn good, with Chimay being one of them. I believe there are seven Trappist monk beers.. *checks wikipedia*... yes, seven. Really worth the money, since it's not something you're going to buy all the time anyway.
- DASH, on 04/29/2009, -3/+7Can Natty Boh get an honorable mention?
- jerrycan, on 04/30/2009, -1/+5most I ever paid for a beer in a pub was $7 CDN for a Westmalle Dubbel. Worth it. Excellent 1st glass.
Favourite store bought...Mill Street Coffee Porter. HOWEVER, I do love the American North east area, for the greatest collection of craft breweries on the continent. - TehPherd, on 04/30/2009, -0/+4Kulminator is incredible, isn't it? We did a vertical tasting of the Het Anchor Grand Cru of the Emperor, and had some 5 year old Westvleteren 12.
And as above, Chimay Premiere (Red) is usually about $10/btl, at least in San Diego. Blue is about +$2. - pegothejerk, on 04/30/2009, -0/+4I'm not saying I WOULD pay a monk $500 to pee in my mouth, but sometimes you have to have the full experience called for in a beer..
- jmenter, on 04/30/2009, -0/+4I paid around 15 euro for a bottle of cellared 1999 vintage Grand Reserve at Kulminator.
- Megadeth222, on 04/30/2009, -0/+4I know wtf, they sell Chimay red, white, and blue, at my grocery store for 12-14 bucks... good ***** tho, favorite beer!
- JAVandiver, on 04/30/2009, -0/+4Ha! My buddies and I homebrew and we can crank out 10 gallons hefe for less than $30. And it is damn good beer too!
- AresDiggs, on 04/30/2009, -0/+4Holy *****... How much was your fine?
- Badoozie, on 04/30/2009, -1/+5Chimay is pretty good. I think Rochefort is better, though.
- inactive, on 04/30/2009, -1/+5Is there a difference?
- pegothejerk, on 04/30/2009, -0/+4juuuust like women.
- dehn, on 04/30/2009, -0/+3I could buy a pallet of keystone for the price of one of those beers.
- killdashnine, on 04/30/2009, -0/+3Unibroue's creed is: "Drink Less, Drink Better", but some of these are just ridiculous.
- Scrappy1850, on 04/30/2009, -0/+3once! it was just the one time, i swear. hasn't happened since, though. LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE, please!
