- ugabandit7, on 06/21/2009, -5/+102PBR, seriously?
- mrtastycakes, on 06/22/2009, -6/+64How did PBR make the cut? Also, Landshark would fit in better in an article titled "Ten Beers You Must Pour Down The Drain This Summer."
- 2h3px, on 06/22/2009, -1/+46For College Students: 5 Beers You're Going to Drink this Summer
1. Natty Light: these cans of glorified bitter water are the cheapest things with alcohol in them not found in the first aid isle, and as much of a summer classic as pit pools. after all, from June-August, everyday is Natterday 2. Bud Light: your friends consider this a splurge and its presence indicates an (ever so slightly) classier event 3. Bitch Kegs of Heineken: a supermarket special 'cause you're just not ballsy enough to buy real kegs on a fake 4. Miller High Life: a homage to our parents' days of binge drinking, an oldschool throwback 5. Bud Light Lime: simply put, no one can resist those ads
and an extra #6: whatever was in that plastic cup. probably some sort of combination of the previous 5 and bodily fluids; at this point, you're just hoping those floating specks were cigarette ash - TiMMY8765, on 06/22/2009, -2/+39maybe on a list of "10 beers to drink if you have no money"
- ColonelJessup, on 06/22/2009, -4/+29Hieneken? ***** that *****! PABST BLUE RIBBON!
- ASfinkterSezWut, on 06/22/2009, -3/+27That's right deskflyer ... you just stay in your uncultured little corner of the world... leave the good stuff for the rest of us.
- gianttoolbox11, on 06/22/2009, -0/+23Pretty accurate list, maybe throw Keystone Light in there as well.
Keystone Light- "If it's good enough to be bottom of the barrel Coors Light, it's good enough for me." - asnider, on 06/22/2009, -2/+22While I agree that it seems like a bizarre choice, given the rest of the list, there's something to be said about a really inexpensive can of beer on a hot summer day. It may be mostly flavourless, but if it's cold and it goes down easy, sometimes that's all that you need.
- BeforeSputnik, on 06/22/2009, -0/+19Perhaps you are unaware that it is an award winning beer, it won a blue ribbon.
- DeskFlyer, on 06/22/2009, -15/+33From #1:
"This is a classic German style wheat beer.... Banana and spice aromas are obvious in the aroma of this beer along with a touch of grass and lemon. Traditionally this style of beer is served with a lemon slice"
No man places any fruit in his beer. Ever. - battizzle216, on 06/22/2009, -0/+17as a german citizen, i urge you desperately:
do not drink Erdinger Weißbier with grapefruit juice or anything else, for that matter.
just a cold Hefeweizen (wheat beer) in a tall glass, poured at an angle to minimize foam. pour about 90% into the glass, then shake the other 10% in the bottle to create a a thick foam and pour that on top. simplicity is the name of the game.
also, not all Hefeweizen are enjoyed with lemon. Usually, only the clear variety (Kristallweizen) are served with a slice, while the naturally turbid (Naturtrüb) are sipped in the method i described above.
and if Erdinger is not available, look for Paulaner, Schöfferhöfer, or (my personal favorite) Weihenstephaner, the latter coming from the oldest (still manufacturing) beer brewery in the world (founded 1040 AD!!).
enjoy, cheers and Prost! - JMilton, on 06/21/2009, -0/+16I'm going to drink much more then that.
- dbalaski, on 06/22/2009, -0/+15Dugg just cause it had . Erdinger Weissbier !! (wonderful little wheat beer!! )
- Nickolassc, on 06/22/2009, -4/+19Give me a good heffenwiesen for summer, and maybe a nice belgian white. I love blue moon and widmer
- Krondor, on 06/22/2009, -0/+14Some good stuff on this list, but some odd ones (Landshark, PBR? WTF?). Personally for me it's all about the Oberon.
http://www.bellsbeer.com/index.php?c=product_info& ... - blumer, on 06/22/2009, -0/+14Skinny Dip. New Belgium FTW.
- insidein, on 06/22/2009, -0/+13Magic Hat #9 is always a good beer during the hot weather.
- chupavacas, on 06/22/2009, -0/+11The very last beer I want to drink on a hot day is Sierra Nevada and PBR tastes like rust. Try a Lagunitas Pils, the perfect summer beer or a Lost Coast Great White.
- doublebummer, on 06/22/2009, -1/+12Dog Fish Head 60 Minute IPA
- bstew22, on 06/22/2009, -0/+11yuengling.... and some Carolina Blonde.
- ASfinkterSezWut, on 06/22/2009, -1/+12Called into question the whole list for me... PBR just doesn't make the cut.
P.S. Dogfish Head breweries has some GREAT stuff this summer. - tattertech, on 06/22/2009, -0/+10Off this list where it belongs.
- ff542, on 06/22/2009, -1/+10Old Engrish for the rin!
- blasian, on 06/22/2009, -0/+9Rogue Dead Guy Ale is quite tasty
- JDex, on 06/22/2009, -3/+12Pabst? Good list except for the gag entry (causes gag reflex). Try some Yuengling instead of PBR, and with the remainder of this list you'll have a wonderful summer.
Yuengling. Try it. - getoffmybridge, on 06/22/2009, -0/+8Ok you're trying to sound cool, and like a beer connoisseur, I get that. But seriously, wheat beer is delicious.
- SinCityExaminer, on 06/22/2009, -2/+10PBR? You are joking, right?
- 5wallace, on 06/22/2009, -0/+8Are you kidding me? Landshark Lager? What a joke. First, I ***** hate Jimmy Buffet, but when I tasted this swill my loathing hit an all-time high. This beer is crap. Period. Refreshing? I guess it is refreshing in a way because it tastes like 95% water.
- americanzero87, on 06/22/2009, -1/+8No Keystone Light? I'm disappointed. That's all my buddies and I drank in college.
- bstew22, on 06/22/2009, -0/+7lemons? in corona? don't we mean limes? i've never put a lemon in my corona.
- dialectical, on 06/22/2009, -1/+8Fin du Monde and Delirium is what makes a sumer smile into a hot laugh. Trust me :)
- Krondor, on 06/22/2009, -0/+6@ASfinkterSezWut
"... Lemon is for Corona ..."
Lime is for Corona? Haven't seen a great deal of Lemon with Corona. - tattertech, on 06/22/2009, -0/+6Missing Milwaukee "Beast" (or "Beast Ice")!
- ILoveBoobies, on 06/22/2009, -1/+7Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA. You won't be disappointed.
- Linkin4, on 06/22/2009, -0/+6Agreed, Land Shark is overpriced garbage.
- BearKill, on 06/22/2009, -0/+5I would add Newcastle and Grolsch to this list! I never had PBR but would be willing to try as a possible replacement for my other cheap 30-pack selection--silver bullets.
- inactive, on 06/22/2009, -2/+7Only 90 as the high on a summer's day - I wish. I prefer high life over PBR as cheap summer beers go. You can get it in camouflaged cans around where I live for about 15 a 30.
- haentz, on 06/22/2009, -0/+5Erdinger is one of these mass-produced Weissbier and most guys here don't think to good about it... Better try to get a Weihenstephan or Andechser Weissbier!
Plus you don't put LEMOn into Weissbier. I don't know about the rest, but this part of the article is complete rubbish. - acrodev, on 06/22/2009, -2/+7Love the Blue Moon, but only when an orange slice is available.
- Roboctopus, on 06/22/2009, -3/+8PBR is my favorite cheap (under $10 for a 12 pack) beer next to Yuengling. PBR beats the pants off the Buds, Millers, and Coors of the world.
- Techre, on 06/22/2009, -2/+7- Chimay blue
- Westvleteren 12
- De Coninck
- Boon Geuze Mariage Parfait
- Vedett
- Westmalle trippel
- Trippel Karmeliet
- Gouden Carolus Trippel
- La Chouffe
- Rodenbach
a non-complete list can be found here: http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lijst_van_Belgische_b ... , but those are the ones I really like. If you want to try them all in one day, please start early. But I have to admit, most of the time I go drinking I stick with the pillsners ,Jupiler and Stella mostly. And trust me, the Stella in the States is NOT the same as what we drink in Belgium. Stella in the States tastes a lot like Heineken. You won't find a lot of Heineken in Belgium or in the South of the Netherlands, that is with a reason.
Greetings from Belgium - drewhoo, on 06/22/2009, -0/+5A man goes funny if he drinks corona too long...
- DforSpiD, on 06/22/2009, -0/+5no doc, if you want to prevent it drink your beer faster
- thespiff, on 06/22/2009, -0/+5If you want to drink a REAL belgian wheat beer, try Hoegaarden or Leffe Blonde. You'll never go back to Blue Moon. Hoegaarden is lighter and sweeter, while the Leffe's got some punch to it.
- ASfinkterSezWut, on 06/22/2009, -0/+5Q: What's the similarity between PBR and sex in a Canoe?
.
A: They're both ***** CLOSE TO WATER ! - hobonetweaver, on 06/22/2009, -0/+5Yeah, barf-flavored water.
- thefreehunter, on 06/22/2009, -0/+4Bell's Oberon on tap with an orange slice on the glass is just fine by me.
- hobonetweaver, on 06/22/2009, -0/+4I disagree, alcohol and summertime go together perfectly. It's all about mixing your 'Have Fun' with your 'Be Safe.'
i.e. Whiskey in one hand and a bottle of water in the other. - benartnewyork, on 06/22/2009, -1/+5smutty nose, summer weizen and brooklyn, summer are two of my favorites... dos equis is about as cheep as i can go..
- HartgE46, on 06/22/2009, -0/+4This guy doesn't know *****... to find a real list, http://beeradvocate.com/.
