- springboks, on 01/27/2009, -0/+66That's exactly the effect the marketers were going for.

Calories are the units used to measure 'energy' in food... - jgray1975, on 01/27/2009, -2/+33What about in corn?

- DemDude, on 01/27/2009, -0/+23Fellatio, Gellato, they're so close it doesn't really matter.
- harrynotlarry, on 01/27/2009, -0/+21I don't wish to argue, but I'm fairly sure there is no corn syrup in vegetables.
You can of course add your own. - ronjohnson, on 01/27/2009, -2/+23Same scientists later on, went to work for the Tobacco companies.

- AmandaQ, on 01/27/2009, -3/+17Sweet!
- nextyoyoma, on 01/27/2009, -1/+14haha, yes, I remember when I read that!
- groo68, on 01/27/2009, -0/+11If i don't add it to my vegetables then the FDA will say they're not fit to eat.
- MazdaEric, on 01/27/2009, -1/+12It's even better if you follow it up with a smooth, refreshing Lucky Strike!
- ElTomacco, on 01/27/2009, -1/+11I don't see what all the hubbub around high-fructose corn syrup is about. Corn is a vegetable, its good for you!
/sarc - ringo380, on 01/27/2009, -0/+8I really wish people would stop feeling the need to kill laughter.
Really by people I just mean arbsyrocks in this particular situation. - drakkie, on 01/27/2009, -0/+7dugg for the thumbnail
- DirtyVicar, on 01/27/2009, -1/+8Mmmm... high-fructose corn syrup from Monsanto's own genetically modified corn. The Europeans don't know what they're missing.
- MrJagil, on 01/27/2009, -0/+7My eye caught the thumbnail before the title. Was intrigued.
- 1337Einstein, on 01/27/2009, -1/+7I'm pretty sure bacon works too.

- solidblu, on 01/27/2009, -0/+5Sure beats High Fructose Corn Syrup with Mercury....
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/artic ... - CoD4, on 01/27/2009, -0/+4those crazy italianos!
- inactive, on 01/27/2009, -0/+4Buried for referencing that awful song by that awful band.
- tao52nyc, on 01/27/2009, -1/+5I'll take sugar (in moderation) over high-frustose corn syrup every time. The HFCS lobbyists make the sugar guys look like Mother Teresa. They should be taken out and shot. HFCS should be completely banned as the toxic health hazard it is, and the corn used to make it turned instead toward healthier products that actually nourish hungry people (Actually, we don't even need a ban - just take away the farm subsidy from HFCS manufacturers, the problem will solve itself soon enough).
- plantfood, on 01/28/2009, -0/+3@mrgreenjeans: dugg for digging at work
- inactive, on 01/27/2009, -0/+3Yes. Yes it does.

- atgmac, on 01/27/2009, -0/+3Sounds like ***** to me.
- blix01, on 01/27/2009, -0/+3"science is proving"
you're funny. - barfbagman, on 01/27/2009, -2/+5this is not completely false... sugar is better than high fructose and much better than glucose/fructose (oddly enough not better than pure fructose) and science is proving that it's better than artificial sweeteners because they actually make you crave more sweet things.
- mrgreenjeans, on 01/27/2009, -0/+3I laughed out loud reading that while on the phone with a customer.
- skintigh, on 01/27/2009, -1/+4Corn is a nut. Duh. Haven't you seen the bags at convenience stores and truck stops?
- Baltiman, on 01/29/2009, -0/+3Sugar is the common name of the disaccharide sucrose, which is formed by the bonding of the monosaccharides, glucose and fructose. It is also known as saccharose and has an energy content of 3.94 kilocalories per gram.
I will let you have: ' SUGAR is all carbohydrate'
but that's all you are getting. - nickisgod1, on 01/27/2009, -0/+2its a space station!
- ncapone, on 01/27/2009, -0/+2Dugg for Talking Heads

My little avatar is More Songs About Building and Food's cover. - fairmont72, on 01/27/2009, -0/+2Aww, I know it's ridiculous, but I'm sad you're getting buried. Right before I closed the window the thought, "oh my god, was that a penis the whole time?" And then I once again realized it was an ice-cream cone...
- nazsco, on 01/27/2009, -0/+2what ice cream?
