- inactive, on 02/18/2008, -1/+134I always wonder how they figure out only certain parts are edible.
"So, Billy died while eating that fish"
"Well, let's try a different part of it" - chopenik, on 02/18/2008, -6/+81Whereas eating the foods mentioned in the article can cause a quick death, eating food serviced by such restaurants as McDonalds ®, Burger King ®, Wendy's ® etc... can cause slow death often accompanied by embarrassment of obesity.
- ZephyrNinety, on 02/18/2008, -6/+54"I ate the red berries and they tastes like burning"
- easyone, on 02/18/2008, -1/+49Dugg for that blowfish video. Thing was twitching for most of that video!
- Evildudetx, on 02/18/2008, -1/+43I don't see how that is a delicacy unless you're into blowing guys......
- stklaw, on 02/18/2008, -2/+38Tonight, we dine in hell?
- tringtring, on 02/18/2008, -3/+38Deadlycacies
- TheAkolyte, on 02/18/2008, -0/+32"Holy crap, did that chicken just ***** a rock??!"
"Ewww!
... lets eat it." - racerx8413, on 02/18/2008, -5/+33Ok, so... the blowfish in the video was still alive through the entire skinning/gutting process? Am I the only one disgusted by that? It's not like crab that get the ***** boiled out of them for a few seconds and then game over, that video lasted for quite some time with that fish looking very alive. Really, was it dead or what?
- gurp13, on 02/18/2008, -0/+25I can understand the pufferfish or fruits or what have you that those might have an interesting taste or something. But, what on earth would possess someone to eat a live octopus? How much better does it taste than sushi octopus? And how could it possibly be fun to have it suctioning to parts of your mouth? I could probably be convinced to try anything else on the list but there's no way I would put a live animal into my mouth that might be able to fight back and kill me. I can already see the "pwned" pictures coming from that incident.
- JrGhoull, on 02/18/2008, -0/+22what do i make of the fact that i knew that the fish in the picture was poisonous, having watched an Simpsons episode involving that very same fish...
perhaps...i should be watching more Simpsons...yeah... - UNCCEJ1010, on 02/18/2008, -1/+22Live octopus?
How did that become a delicacy? - greenblob, on 02/18/2008, -0/+21Who was the first guy who looked at a cow and said, "I think I'll drink whatever comes out of these things when I squeeze 'em!"?
- Raian, on 02/18/2008, -1/+21The same way Korea became a country.
- Ohimesama, on 02/18/2008, -1/+21I've eaten Fugu Sashimi (raw puffer). It was a specialty of Yamaguchi, where I stayed for nearly a month with a friend. I am not dead. But it was disgusting.
If the fear of death is not enough to keep you away, take into consideration that the taste of it in your mouth is nothing less than foul. - Jozer99, on 02/18/2008, -0/+19I think the fruit one would be even better:
Well, Bob picked the fruit two days ago, ate it today, and died.
Yeah, but Jim picked the fruit FOUR days ago, ate it today, and died!
That leaves only one option! Lets eat the fruit after THREE days! - Uranium118, on 02/18/2008, -1/+20The same way tentacle rape became popular.
- cave, on 02/18/2008, -0/+19At least it doesn't ***** move. :S
- smurfsahoy, on 02/18/2008, -0/+18Yes it was alive. I hardly see how thats worse than the live octopus dish though
- snoonoo, on 02/18/2008, -4/+21The same way Bush became president.
- eems, on 02/18/2008, -0/+17Live octopus is fun to eat because it wiggles and sticks to your mouth (suction cups). So, if you don't start chewing right away & it starts inching towards your throat, you best get chewing.
- sjbdallas, on 02/18/2008, -0/+17The root seemed fairly safe.
- marky125, on 02/18/2008, -0/+17You fill me with both respect and revulsion, sir
- RSS14, on 02/18/2008, -0/+16I have a question: For the Fugu (Pufferfish), after the chef cut the head off, something inside was still moving. Was that the heart? Was it prepared while the fish was alive? Was it the work the the evil Thetans? Thanks.
- bflfab, on 02/18/2008, -1/+17I think I remember hearing that if the fish was prepared dead the toxin would have spread and the whole thing is unsafe.
- HiKevinRose, on 02/18/2008, -0/+15Yeah, at least it won't reach out and play claw-machine with your uvula.
- orca94, on 02/18/2008, -0/+15Why am I not surprised that the only country who's food showed up on that list more than once is Japan? And not only did it show up more than one time, it showed up 3/7 times.
The Japanese are just that hardcore. - jmp478, on 02/18/2008, -0/+13either that or we saw a certain animal eat chicken eggs....
- beedo34, on 02/18/2008, -2/+14what's the fascination with eating ***** that's still alive in japan? kill the ***** thing and you won't choke!
but at least they aren't eating bugs. THAT, i wouldn't be able to stand. - inactive, on 02/18/2008, -1/+12Is it me or does that fish still look alive for about half of the preparation?
- beedo34, on 02/18/2008, -0/+11ugh, mental image......
- dazhboh, on 02/18/2008, -2/+13Toxicology
- tolbs, on 02/18/2008, -0/+11Is that you, Shia Lebouf?
- titlesaysitall, on 02/18/2008, -0/+11Tonight, we dine in Hell!
- Scira, on 02/18/2008, -1/+11Im also sure theres some rule 34 pictures of it too.
- choopie911, on 02/18/2008, -1/+11That's hardly a surprise, I'm sure most diggers thought of the simpons when they saw Fugu
- speedyrev, on 02/18/2008, -1/+11I ate ackee and saltfish in Jamaica. I was told you could get sick, but no mention of death. Just a small detail to leave out.
- bflfab, on 02/18/2008, -1/+11Ralph: I ated the purple berries!
[Within moments, he collapses to the ground, groaning in pain.]
Bart: How are they, Ralph? Good?
Ralph: They taste like.. burning!
http://www.snpp.com/episodes/5F11 - HiKevinRose, on 02/18/2008, -1/+10"Shef"? Really?
- Alex2, on 02/18/2008, -0/+8McRib
Kills thousands by clogging a person's arteries. - Syric, on 02/18/2008, -0/+8Honestly, I think it was dead after a few seconds (it was decapitated). The rest of it is just twitching.
- jemka, on 02/18/2008, -0/+8One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue Fish
- inactive, on 02/18/2008, -2/+10....so then don't eat it ever
- beedo34, on 02/18/2008, -1/+8just be glad your fugu shef isn't cutting up the fish in a camry on a "treacherous suburban road"
- h4mx0r, on 02/18/2008, -0/+7Calvin and Hobbes win at logic.
- HiKevinRose, on 02/18/2008, -0/+7Let alone the jellyfish that kill and eat ***** tuna.. tuna are HUGE.
- Syric, on 02/18/2008, -1/+8Might be because I'm Japanese, but I thought Fugu was a well-known thing even in the U.S.
- choopie911, on 02/18/2008, -1/+8I can't imagine eating some of that stuff. Who the hell decided jellyfish was a good idea, it looks disgusting.
- vwvan, on 02/18/2008, -0/+7fascinating... but having nearly died of food poisoning, the novelty just isn't enough for me to want to eat these foods.
