I have worked with Saladmaster for 3 years and am very proud of this non-chemically reactive, non-porous 316 Surgical Stainless Steel. This cookware does not leach metals or chemicals out into the food and will not pit even in a highly salt environment for over 200 years based on what the Metallergists tell us of this Stainless Steels. You must be informed of these things before advising the public. It's not your fault - many people are unaware how important their choice of cookware is. Aluminum- even hard anodized allows the aluminum into the food( has been linked to alzheimers and digestive problems ), Hard anodized is also type of teflon with the PFOA chemical. Teflon is of course harmful as it releases carcinogens into the air enough to kill a bird (we are all animals), glass CAN explode, which is why it gets tempered with LEAD (anyone need a good dose of lead, lately?) Cast iron is unsanitary and even thoughwe need iron, it is not the metal form you need. Porcelain and enamel also known to contain lead content. Other lower grade stainless steels like the 18/10 and 304s are of such a softer metal that it allows ot5her metals to be leached out through it's pores ( like copper, platinum, aluminums). 316L and 316Ti are safe. Safe enough for pacemakers, knee replacements, building pressure tanks in the ocean ( because it does not corrode, rust or pit ). Everyone should contact their nearest Saladmaster dealer and watch a free dinner demonstration to get the proof they need and education to pass it on. Our office is in Santa Fe Sprins, California. This is a truly green product with a lifetime warranty.
- SimplePots, on 10/12/2008, -0/+0I found the perfect pots! Surgical Steel with Titanium made in the USA. Doctors like them because they do not leach chemicals into the organic food your cooking, (All other pots do to some extent). You can put them in the oven/broiler/stove top/refrig.
Foodies like them because they cook foods fast. They are very GREEN as they use less than 1/3 the power to heat the pan to cook your food. And they retain up to 93% of your foods vitamins and minerals! Watch out for other stainless pots made overseas from (normally a good idea) recycled automotive steel which cost a lot and give you extra toxins in the fiid you eat everyday! These great pots are 316I steel!
I love them so much I bought them and can help others enjoy great tasting quickly cooked meals too. Oh....yes the best thing because this steel is so dense..you can wipe it clean! Did I say made in the USA? - WideGlideRider, on 10/12/2008, -0/+0You suggest glass? Have you ever seen CorningWare explode on a cooktop?? I have and it's not pretty. Also, cast iron...might as well use a coffee can, at least you can CLEAN a coffee can. When you heat up cast iron the pores expand and the nasty greasy remains of whatever you have cooked in it come out to ruin your food. QUALITY STAINLESS STEEL is the only way to go. Saladmaster makes a great product and backs it with a lifetime warranty. Who else does that??
- jimffp, on 10/12/2008, -0/+0You are recommending aluminum cookware? I have heard that increases your aluminum intake, which is associated with an increased risk of Alzheimer's. Are you sure you know what your doing? Just checkin'.
