- thefreshjive, on 08/31/2009, -0/+39"The cooked bacon now exits the microwave oven and comes under the watchful eye of the inspector. She eats slices that are broken or not up to par."
There, fixed it. - inactive, on 08/31/2009, -7/+41Bacon!
- torgo112, on 08/31/2009, -3/+33Dugg for bacon.
- stephhicks68, on 08/31/2009, -1/+25Wait... isn't this top secret?
- SurlyDuff, on 08/31/2009, -1/+25Hmmm...for some reason I always thought bacon was made in heaven.
- jattea, on 08/31/2009, -1/+22If you need it explained, then you will never really understand.
- wing05, on 08/31/2009, -1/+21And that's what it takes to get your supermarket shelves full of meat.
Accept it or go vegan. - chetchez, on 08/31/2009, -0/+20Man - You can smoke bacon?? I've been smoking the wrong stuff!
- Rikushix, on 08/31/2009, -1/+17...liquid smoke?
edit: 3:43 to 4:05. It's like MAGIC! - mavranos, on 08/31/2009, -0/+15Precooked bacon!? While no bacon is bad (with the exception of Canadian bacon, which is really just ham, please Canada who do you think you're foolin'?) freshly cooked bacon is always best with just a few minutes to cool and crisp up.
As I was cooking a pound of bacon yesterday my daughter asked if she cloud have a "crispy" piece. I almost threw the girl out of the kitchen. EVERY PIECE OF MY BACON IS CRISPY!!! - norman619, on 08/31/2009, -0/+14Precooked bacon loses some of it's nummyness. In my opinion bacon is best freshly cooked.
- can0lard, on 08/31/2009, -1/+15could someone please explain to me the Internet's fascination with bacon
- borez, on 08/31/2009, -1/+15Maybe the whole video is merely governmental disinformation to throw us off the scent.
- inactive, on 08/31/2009, -5/+18When I grow up, I'm going to bovine university
- MacBookForMe, on 08/31/2009, -0/+12I smell something bacon-fishy here...
- kylescousin, on 08/31/2009, -1/+13aaaaaaaaaaah, like THAT!
- jattea, on 08/31/2009, -0/+11Yeah, bacon is actually made from dreams and rainbows and unicorn dust.
- hgarrison, on 08/31/2009, -0/+11Except the person who throws out unwanted pieces... I'd take them I don't care if it's broken.
- fritzek, on 08/31/2009, -1/+12You're a freak.
- ldeimos, on 08/31/2009, -0/+10Who buys bacon already cooked like that?
- borez, on 08/31/2009, -1/+10What the ***** are you on about?
Bacon handlers do not go to ***** career guidance councillors, they are the chosen ones, their destiny is selected before they are even conceived.
Even maybe chosen before the dawn of time itself. - MaxFrost, on 08/31/2009, -0/+9that's actually a pretty efficient slaughter house. I'm actually glad that they did a good job with handling the slaughter. I know lots of people whine about killing animals, but ya know what? You wouldn't be a human if all you did was eat plants. Our ancestors ate meat, and were proud of it, why shouldn't we? Granted, we do need to take care to not destroy environments, but I find nothing wrong with sustainable farming and meat raising.
- borez, on 08/31/2009, -0/+9I'm not sure if the neighbours would like having a pig in the stairwell though.
- DiggUnderground, on 08/31/2009, -1/+10Who said bacon???
- geodebug, on 08/31/2009, -0/+9LOL: @mikesbaker ***** on @pfhayter who correctly quoted Lisa Simpson from that same episode/scene. Should have quit while you were ahead, mike.
- thcobbs, on 08/31/2009, -0/+8lol... the slicing station was down-right porn.
- thcobbs, on 08/31/2009, -2/+10Bacon is NOT a FAD!
- BeShirtHappy, on 08/31/2009, -6/+13Bacon is good food!
- strings28, on 08/31/2009, -0/+7You should totally try to make your own bacon at home. It is WAY tastier and it is WAY healthier than injected chemical bacon. Well, not /that/ much healthier :)
- Brooks007, on 08/31/2009, -0/+7This is not how all bacon is made. This is just how smoke flavord pre-cooked bacon is made. This is not the stuff you buy to cook at home.
This is the stuff you get at Wendys or BK. - Bekey, on 08/31/2009, -1/+8That inspector "discards" the bacon. I could not resist the temptation to just shove handfuls of it into my mouth. I'd take that whole trash bag home...there is no bad bacon!!
- valkyries, on 08/31/2009, -0/+7psh, B anyone?
- ManicParadox, on 08/31/2009, -0/+7That music reminds me of John Carpenter's films from the '80s
- inactive, on 08/31/2009, -6/+12bovine means cow, not pig.
- sphillipson, on 08/31/2009, -0/+6Careers Guidance Councillor "Johnny your career will ensure the future happiness of mankind. You're going to handle pork bellies and turn them into bacon, you will have the meat equivalent of Midas touch."
- tgrokz, on 08/31/2009, -0/+6sooo where can i get some of this magical liquid smoke?
- iheartbakon, on 08/31/2009, -0/+5"Canadian bacon" is just the crap we ship to the U.S.A. We keep all the good stuff for ourselves.
- pfhayter, on 08/31/2009, -1/+6You don't really expect us to swallow this tripe do you?
- jattea, on 09/01/2009, -0/+5http://bacolicio.us/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I ...
fixed. - norman619, on 08/31/2009, -0/+5Like pork. You've never cooked pork before?
- borez, on 08/31/2009, -0/+5I'm not sure what you're doing in the bedroom, and I'm not sure if it's wrong or right.
- Tyrghast, on 08/31/2009, -1/+6Have you ever done bacon? Once you do man... you're hooked.
do bacon every day - norman619, on 08/31/2009, -0/+5Actually bacon is made when pigs have babies. This video is about how bacon is processed.
- IllBeBack, on 08/31/2009, -1/+6I'm sorry, but your request for a refund of five minutes has been denied. Given that the time spent was bacon-related, I seriously question the veracity of your request.
Sincerely yours,
The Supreme Time Commander - bobtheunholy, on 08/31/2009, -0/+5Apparently my crazy friend here hasn't heard of the food chain.
- Ghurks, on 08/31/2009, -0/+4Haha... Come on, we have regular bacon as well! In fact, How It's Made is a Canadian production: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_it%27s_made
You're right about the pre-cooking though. I do completely agree with you - Canadian bacon is sub-par when compared to real (fresh) bacon. This frozen and pre-cooked stuff isn't terrible in a pinch... - Linake, on 08/31/2009, -0/+4That means it's not boring.
- andyp7, on 08/31/2009, -0/+4You must live a sheltered life not to have known what happens to meat before you buy it from the supermarket shelf.
The way they killed the pigs in the video was efficient and humane, the pig had already been stunned before he cut its artery, and once he slices it the pig dies in a few seconds. A much better death than most humans get if you ask me.
Also organic does not necessarily = good. There are no health benefits of choosing organic food over typical food and I don't know how they kill the animals, but I don't see how they can improve much over the way the ones in the youtube video were dispatched.
It amazes me that all it took was that youtube video to make you want to be vegetarian. - markperia, on 08/31/2009, -0/+4yeah, I kinda freaked out when I heard the word "discards".
