Gotta love media sensationalism. - acidwinter, on 02/20/2009, -4/+43Vanilla Coke FTW!
- AdenFraser, on 02/20/2009, -3/+36Its nice to have more variety.. hopefully they won't have 109 bad drinks and 11 regulars, or worse.. 109 bad drinks available but the 11 varieties that everyone wants.. is already gone :(
Furthermore.. what if the machines are buggy and put too much or too little concentrate in. We'll end up with either a really strong coke or a cup of carbonated water.
But dugg for innovation. - uberbucket1, on 02/20/2009, -0/+18SLURM!
- Brentnauer, on 02/20/2009, -2/+20I'm on my way.
- satanherself, on 02/20/2009, -0/+17I bet it would take me several minutes to decide what I want........
- lowtolerance, on 02/20/2009, -0/+17I loved that stuff. Vault is so inferior. I once left an open can of surge on my desk for a couple of weeks, and you know what happened? Genesis.
- BCPneumatics, on 02/20/2009, -0/+11You're right, it's been overrun by waters from other geological features. Primarily mountains, though.
- StickWST, on 02/20/2009, -2/+13Surge and All-Sport? lmao 90's
- leaprinces, on 02/20/2009, -1/+11It would be nice to have that black machine at home!!!
- Brak710101, on 02/20/2009, -0/+10What the hell is Mountain Dew Mouth?
What makes Dew so special? I figured ALL sodas would be almost equally bad for your teeth. - nadalbg, on 02/20/2009, -0/+9This will be good. I can already smell good profits for Coca Cola :p
- BCPneumatics, on 02/20/2009, -1/+10There are over 100 different kinds of coke.
- IvanB, on 02/20/2009, -1/+9I'm pretty sure it will be a self-serving process with those. Now, that alternatively could result in queues in peak hours considering the indecisive people. :p
- zaffir, on 02/20/2009, -1/+9What about plain water? It's harder and harder to find that as a choice on these machines.
- Nitelite, on 02/20/2009, -0/+8Your username is very accurate.
- ahjkl67435, on 02/20/2009, -1/+9when are you going to CHOOSE to learn how to spell?
- Brentnauer, on 02/20/2009, -2/+9Crab juice!
- bri719, on 02/20/2009, -2/+9holy crap that's awesome. I think I just pooped my pants!! I'll be in heaven.
it won't hold Crystal Pepsi but that's my only complaint...
at my last job for a time we had something called "Soda Club". it was 4-5 guys who took turns bringing in new or different sodas and then we sampled them. if we liked it, we'd all find a way to get more of the same. this machine would have certainly helped to pass the time.
oops I just violated Rule #1: Do NOT talk about Soda Club!!!! - merreborn, on 02/20/2009, -0/+7Why would you want to buy your water from a machine?
- wheezy360, on 02/20/2009, -0/+7Where's the Orbitz??
- jeches, on 02/20/2009, -0/+7Well you can have 100 varieties to choose from, but in the end you will have 2 of each.
- xaeon, on 02/20/2009, -0/+7You didn't quite understand the article. The soda will be broken down in to concentrate of raw ingrediants that will be used in different ratios to create the drink of choice. Just because someone doesn't pick a certain ratio of ingrediants (ie. a specific drink) doesn't mean that some of the ingrediants won't be used.
For example, selecting coke might give you a drink that is made from ingrediants 1, 16, 35, 67, 78 and 92 in specific quantities to create coke.
I would assume a lot of soda uses very similar ingrediants with only slight modifications of certain flavourings. - TheVirus, on 02/20/2009, -0/+7Surge is amazing. I still have my 2 walkie-talkies that I won from a scratch-off 10 or 15 years ago.
- inactive, on 02/21/2009, -0/+6would be great if they added a "build your own soda" feature where you can select how much of each ingredient to use
- PixelMagic, on 02/20/2009, -0/+6Even more awesome...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v58/PixelMagic/B ... - ThaDRD, on 02/21/2009, -1/+7I got totally derailed by the Mt Dew Mouth story. WTF is going on in Kentucky? Toothbrushes, heard of them?
- slmx, on 02/20/2009, -1/+6I think there's such a thing as more choices than needed....
- Altair27, on 02/20/2009, -0/+5There are over 100 different kinds of soda?
- thegamingguy, on 02/21/2009, -0/+5I love fountain soda, this would make any breakroom / gameroom the place to be - for me anyway.
- eigenweasel, on 02/20/2009, -0/+5That's because you underestimate the extent to which other people have preferences that differ from yours.
- zeronationarmy, on 02/21/2009, -0/+4It's bottle > can > fountain for me. I suppose it's just a matter of preference :)
- HamatoKameko, on 02/21/2009, -0/+4...I want to join a club like that.
- HamatoKameko, on 02/21/2009, -0/+4Dude, please, ignorance is bliss.
- Nyaos, on 02/21/2009, -0/+4How are they going to fill the things?
- HamatoKameko, on 02/21/2009, -0/+4I figure the first and last "blast" from the nozzle will be pure carbonated water, to prevent that.
- marklj, on 02/20/2009, -1/+5All of the drinks dispense out of one common nozzle? Seems like that would compromise the flavor of the sodas with the small amount of excess and residue that the previously ordered drinks might leave.
- HamatoKameko, on 02/21/2009, -1/+5Most of us have probably worked at a restaurant at some point.
And personally, I find the very opposite is true; I much prefer fountain drinks to canned. Fountain > bottle > can. - jalexhall1989, on 02/21/2009, -0/+4IT'S HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!
- inactive, on 02/21/2009, -0/+4And? Who cares? Even if it's true, just because one of the family members is a bad egg doesn't mean ***** for the others.
- qwertydvorak, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4i like vanilla coke i buy at places that mix it in themselves. vanilla coke that coke came out with sucks in comparison. the vanilla has more of a chemically taste or something.
- Juaquin, on 02/21/2009, -0/+3I frickin' loved Surge. Vault is a spy.
- andyroo316, on 02/21/2009, -0/+3That was a little reply wrapped up in awesomeness.
- dext3r, on 02/21/2009, -0/+3Phil Collins?
- waldo686, on 02/21/2009, -2/+5fountain pop sucks, I work at a restaurant trust me I know.
Fountain pop can't touch the flavor that comes from a can or bottle - dafragsta, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3Do not disrespect the Surge. Hopefully they'll also license some third party stuff like Jolt.
- inactive, on 02/21/2009, -0/+3guess i better make myself thirsty. Are they gonna make more types of soda then because as far as i know coca cola have about 20 different kinds so far?
- HamatoKameko, on 02/21/2009, -0/+3When's the last time you actually looked at the size of an average self-service soda fountain? In this case, you don't need a shelf for it, but it takes up about the same amount of wall and floor space.
- waldo686, on 02/21/2009, -0/+3@ merreborn: make that 3
How do you like that, it's also illegal to put squirrels down your pants for the purpose of gambling. -
