- Astaire2, on 02/28/2009, -0/+0Having acually used all three units, I can say the Tassimo is Hands Down the superior coffee maker for the following reasons, but first lets look at the downfalls of the other two machines.
Senseo or all Pod coffee makers:
1. They are cheaply made.
2. They pass stream through the coffee pod, and the coffee always seems extremely bitter. It just is not a quality cup of coffee or tea.
3. You are stuck with 2 cup sizes period.
4. No real cappicino or espresso or latte or hot chocolate options.
5. Water resevoir is scarry small.
Keurig maker:
Positives;
1. Much higher quality maker than Pod maker
2. Good at making coffee and tea.
3. Good selection of coffee options.
Negatives:
1. No real options for cappucino, lattes except with additional accessory.
2. Cup sizes are not as flexible as Tassimo.
3. All coffees, espressos, etc. are made the same way.
4. Need to buy separate milk frother for cappicinos, lattes $79 extra bucks
5. Milk frother needs to be cleaned separately.
6. You can adjust the temp of the beverage but that is not nessisarily the optimal temp that the beverage should be made at.
The Tassimo:
Negatives:
1. The resevoir is a bit of a pain in the back of unit.
2. The selection is growing but not quite as much at keurig.
3. That is it!
Positives:
1. Each t-disc has a bar code on it that is read by the machine and makes sure that the beverage is brewed at the optimal temp.
2. You can make great Cappucinos, Lattes, and Hot chocolates without any additional accessories and no extra clean up.
3. If you remove the front cup pedistal, you CAN fit a tall travel mug.
4. The brewed teas are great and the tea companies are exceptional.
5. They have starbucks.
6. You can top off any beverage by holding in the button. Which allows you to weaken strong coffee just a bit and help you adjust your brewing to different size cups.
7. Did I mention that it makes GREAT Cappicinos and Lattes without a separate "milk frother" This is HUGE people!
8. The water resevoir has a built in water filter so your beverages always taste their best.
So there you have it the real comparison by someone who has used all three systems but chooses to have a Tassimo in His House.
