- beerncheese, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1@vegetarian haters: We have to eat somewhere, right? Burger King has a veggie burger. Wendy's has a baked potato. KFC doesn't have ***** but nasty coleslaw, so I don't go there, and neither do any of my meat-eating friends when they are with me. If KFC doesn't want to cater to my tastes, that's fine by me, but it is their loss. Don't pretend I'm down at the local KFC shrieking and throwing buckets of blood. (That goes for you too, consumerist.com.)
On the other hand, the point of the article is that KFC sells something, representing that it something that it is not (which, by the way, is illegal). You wouldn't be happy if your top sirloin steak turned out to be a soy patty, would you? - Louche, on 07/07/2009, -0/+0Don't eat Fast Food Junk. Join your local co-op. And certainly don't trust meat-munching corporations, especially ones that are trying to make you fatter. If you have to shop at a corporate chain, Trader Joe's is probably your best bet, but otherwise, BUY LOCAL! I don't care if you're "poor"... Poor is relative. Most "poor" Americans I've met wear Nike, which exploits far poorer children in other places in the world at obscene costs to both consumers and producers. It's the middlemen, i.e. the corporations, who get all the money.
- whereisian, on 07/23/2008, -1/+1Garbage in, garbage out.
- h0ser, on 07/23/2008, -2/+2and if the vegetables are grown in cow crap, is that still vegan? People take what they eat too seriously.
- GangsterCompute, on 07/22/2008, -2/+2What, did you expect them to overhaul all their kitchens just to please PETA and angry vegetarians who don't like eating elsewhere? What does the market look like for angry vegetarians who don't like eating somewhere other than KFC?
- PSotter, on 07/22/2008, -2/+1Now what would be the very best way to say "***** you" to vegans who want vegetarian food at KFC?
- heyreputah, on 07/22/2008, -2/+1I mean, there's the word "chicken" in the name of the restaurant. That wouldn't deter the vegans a little bit? Dummies.
