- MetalHead73, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3I think I'll just stay away from eating flowers...
I'd much rather look at them. - TheMachine1, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Watch the public domain film "The Little Shop of Horrors" while you are munching on those flowers.
- VelvetoneFusion, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Soo, the answer is "visit your local library"...
- BlankVerse, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2A few Nasturtium flowers are a great addition to salads.
- newznozzl, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2They don't mention it in the article, not sure why - but one of the best edible flowers I've ever had are Zucchini flowers. Just deep fry them in a light tempura - they are AMAZING.
The only place I've ever seen them served is at place called Tosi's - a place in SW Michigan, http://www.tosis.com/.
I've done them myself. Just need to make sure to pick the flowers in the morning, before they open, and then soak them for a bit to get any bugs out. This looks like a decent recipe: http://www.italylogue.com/food-drink/fried-zucchin ...
If YOU know of a place that does these, please reply here. Would love to be able be able to gnaw these down more (as I don't live in SW Michigan any more...) - Korberos, on 07/15/2009, -1/+3Buried.... what the hell is becoming of digg that this ***** gets dugg up? Edible flowers? Really?

- JeneeJ, on 07/15/2009, -2/+3Am I the only one that thinks this is lame?
- 4AntiStupid, on 07/15/2009, -1/+1The point of edible flowers is usually not a food source. It's to decorate the plate for better presentation. Most areas have a restaurant health code requirement that anything biological on the plate must be edible.
