- DeathJux, on 03/17/2008, -2/+47I was all "WTF?!!?" until I saw it was The Onion.
- overtoke, on 03/17/2008, -1/+2025 years go Twinkies (along with many other snacks) tasted much better. All of the natural ingredients have been replaced by *****.
- DaDrake, on 03/17/2008, -3/+19I betcha the submitter thought this was real news.
- EpicSelekta, on 03/17/2008, -2/+17"Eating Twinkies is cool" is the single funniest line I've read all day. I imagine Ralph Wiggum saying it.
- mattbeetee, on 03/17/2008, -1/+12Dugg for "dangerous snack cake."
- geegel, on 03/17/2008, -1/+12The Onion might believe that it is joking, but just wait a few years and this article will become reality.
- Dumbledorito, on 03/17/2008, -2/+11Twinkies are one of those weird foods you remember tasting REALLY great as a kid... but not now.
I re-discover that every couple of years or so. - objc, on 03/17/2008, -1/+9***** fail.
- aussieNickuss, on 03/17/2008, -1/+7"Twinkie-advocating cartoon spokescake" .... funniest thing I've read this month.
- XmenArt, on 03/17/2008, -1/+7Too true to reality
- felman87, on 03/17/2008, -2/+7that damn twinky cowboy! He's worse than that camel.
- betona, on 03/17/2008, -1/+6Twinkies never were good. Not now, not 40 years ago. Now, those creme-filled chocolate cakes with the white swirly thing down the middle, or those swiss rolls... that's a different story.
- smurfsahoy, on 03/17/2008, -1/+6Dugg for "twinkie user."
- Mattya2006, on 03/17/2008, -1/+5You know the world is insane when you aren't sure whether articles like this are theonion or not....And real articles that you're convinced are theonion are not.
- BetterOffEd, on 03/17/2008, -2/+61998?
- lupicite, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3Twinkies were once natural?
- objc, on 03/17/2008, -2/+4Fail.
- SmEdD, on 03/17/2008, -2/+4"Alarmed by the product's rise in popularity among minors, U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) recently drafted legislation aimed at curbing underage Twinkie use."
Next thing we know you will need to be 18 to eat at a fast food place . . . - pauldy, on 03/17/2008, -0/+2OMG, they totally got me I was polishing the barrel looking for the nearest bell tower when I noticed that little green onion at the bottom of the article.
- adammharvey, on 03/17/2008, -1/+3and they taste like *****
- TimDigg, on 03/17/2008, -1/+3actually when you were a kid a twinkie actually was made out of cake
- zimbra, on 03/17/2008, -1/+3Dugg for 'spokescake'

"Twinkies"–a dangerous snack cake linked to obesity and hyperactivity–to minors.
IT CAUSES ADHD! - brie987, on 03/18/2008, -0/+1You can make your own Twinkies if you are afraid of mystery ingredients. I want sugar free and gluten free twinkies.
http://www.chow.com/recipes/10467 - SpikeX, on 03/17/2008, -1/+2Dugg for the description. I lol'd.
- alittleroy101, on 03/17/2008, -1/+2Ding Dongs!
- VinnieDaMac, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1Lol, I was all set to post something serious until I saw "The Onion."
- lynx44, on 03/17/2008, -0/+1I've never been a huge fan of twinkies, unless they're deep fried. Then they're the most delicious heart attack inducing dessert of all time.
- Dumbledorito, on 03/17/2008, -1/+2Pre-WWII, the cream was made from bananas as well.
- X9001, on 03/17/2008, -1/+2I haven't had one of those things since the 90's
- smackafiyah, on 03/18/2008, -1/+1Think I'll go grab a twinkie now. Thanks again Onion!
- elliotks, on 03/17/2008, -1/+1Thanks it is kinda early here and I was WTF'ing myself and was going to make a point about this quote:
"Our nation's children have been targeted for the consumption of these fattening, unwholesome cakes at a vulnerable age, before they are old enough to make responsible decisions about health and nutrition."
Because at that vulnerable age isn't that the parents responsibility to teach kids about junk food? Plus think about ALL the different junk food that is marketed towards kids, even sugary cereals...
I got a case of the Mondays :P - lamiaconfitor, on 03/17/2008, -2/+2ITS A JOKE!
- jaywar, on 03/31/2008, -0/+0This is real news being buried on a fake new source as "satire."
- BigBlimpin, on 03/17/2008, -1/+1Yeah I have at least 2 moments a week like that.
- DucoNihilum, on 03/17/2008, -2/+2Now they taste almost identical, but don't spoil in a few days.
Seems like a plus to me. - DiggLive, on 03/17/2008, -1/+1That's what she said.
- phenger, on 03/17/2008, -0/+0Dugg for a fake quote from the onion from my home town lol.
- Savantgarde, on 03/18/2008, -0/+0I certainly thought this was real. Twinkies are evil--particularly their almost raw-sugar core.
- Rivaan, on 03/19/2008, -0/+0It's been a long time since Dan White and his "Twinkie Defense."
- supermanred, on 03/18/2008, -1/+1This article says it all. Next time some fat ***** stuffing his face with twinkies, standing on a street corner where 200 cars are pumping out exhaust says something about my ***** cigarette smoke, I'm going to tell him about this article and then stuff my cigarette in his fat mouth.
- BigBlimpin, on 03/17/2008, -2/+1Do a barrel roll!
- strictnein, on 03/17/2008, -2/+1My twinkie is my anti-drug?
- krets, on 03/17/2008, -2/+1I was double WTF because one of the kids quoted in that is from Emporia, KS. My hometown!
- toomanytuxedos, on 03/17/2008, -2/+1NOVEMBER 25, 1998 ... didn't we just have a discussion recently about not posting articles that are 10 years old?
- invinciblechunk, on 03/17/2008, -4/+2That's why this belongs in Comedy, not Food & Drink.
(Prior to the Comedy section, The Onion didn't belong on Digg at all.) - c0baltfish, on 03/17/2008, -3/+1"There is substantial evidence supporting the claim that, for decades, Hostess has carried out an aggressive marketing campaign with the goal of promoting Twinkie use among underage consumers,"
Twinkie's PR response: ***** duh! - aceakm, on 03/17/2008, -6/+4My twinkie is legal.
