If you dugg this, odds are you haven't visited either of these websites. Seriously, email your effing reps. Say "I think marijuana should be decriminalized." It makes more of an impact than you think.
Do it. - diggproof, on 11/22/2008, -4/+68Wow I was just smoking pot, what a freakin coincidence.
- ianmack, on 11/21/2008, -3/+57Canada's pretty tolerant in small amounts... though with our proximity to the US, there's pressure to conform to their legal standards.
- XtheXlanternX, on 11/22/2008, -2/+34I guess it isn't as much of a coincidence for me.
- diggproof, on 11/22/2008, -1/+29I only clicked this story because it was about pot and I smoke it regularly.
- ComeOutSwingin, on 11/22/2008, -0/+25You guys should hang out.
- inactive, on 11/22/2008, -9/+33What do you expect from a failing imperialist country controlled by a mentally retarded right wing nut job?
- XtheXlanternX, on 11/22/2008, -1/+25We are on the same page.

- inactive, on 11/22/2008, -6/+27i'm 14.
- HuskyPuzzle, on 11/21/2008, -2/+21In Spain it's all about the Moroccan hash, not the weed. Porrrrrrro!
- deva14, on 11/21/2008, -2/+15Yeah, dunno how Canada didn't make the list of tolerant, decriminalized areas? If I remember right, you can claim "personal use" for up to an ounce, and at most you're looking at the equivalent of a parking ticket.
Used to be 9 grams, but they raised it awhile back. Maybe to half an o. I forget. - rdvon, on 11/22/2008, -5/+18This message brought to you The Federal Bureau of Left Wing Nut Jobs™
- HuoXin, on 11/21/2008, -1/+14wow this guy really knows his stuff
- cam0man, on 11/22/2008, -0/+13good read...but for the real nomadic stoner use www.webehigh.com
everything from how the locals treat weed, to which parks are full of friendly faces ready to share a toke...awesome article! - jessehadden, on 11/22/2008, -0/+12I've read that in Israel, the US-taxpayer-funded military is given marijuana to treat PTSD. Yep... we're paying to eradicate the pot plant, and we're paying to supply people with it, and the worst part is, we're paying the same freaking people to do both.
- Noncentz, on 11/22/2008, -0/+11Man we should allll hang out
- da_bradler, on 11/22/2008, -1/+10Yeah Canadian law is pretty messy, it's hard to get any real drug reform because we share a border with the united states. If we start decriminalizing drugs they consider illegal our police force would lose support of american drug enforcement.
Our country takes a lot of help when it comes to information on things like cocaine trafficking. So basically the theory is if we wanted to decriminalize weed it would hurt our ability to police the more dangerous drugs.
It's not exactly fair, but as far as selling legally selling weed at seven eleven it's not going to happen unless the united states says it's ok. - IamTheJman, on 11/22/2008, -1/+10Hahahaha. That just made my day. lol.
- johnnyloser, on 11/22/2008, -0/+9If you go on vacation remember to bring a towel!
(Man I am so high...) - inactive, on 11/22/2008, -0/+9I need more info about Canada. I live about 4 hours away from Vancouver BC. I hear you can find hash bars, where its illegal to buy it, its not to smoke it in bars?
- inactive, on 11/22/2008, -0/+9It's no more addicting than porn. Like the previous user said, it's a psychological dependency, not a chemical one.
- ogisdan, on 11/22/2008, -2/+10I have yet to come across someone who is "addicted" to some schweed. I've been blazing almost daily for a couple of months and I can still say no to a joint. It's not nearly as debilitating as you think.
- kleptomaniac, on 11/22/2008, -0/+8I've found it really depends on the area and on the cop, in some places you'll find bars and smokeshops that sell pot milkshakes and rent vapourizers and in others if a cop gets the scent he'll track your stoned ass down.
- downwardspiral, on 11/22/2008, -1/+8ask your mom
- AngelBunny, on 11/22/2008, -2/+9rofl no you can't. berkeley has parking ninjas there. if anything berkeley is more enforced than anywere else in the bay area.
- casualgod, on 11/22/2008, -0/+7It's a poorly written article. It lists Yugoslavia but then lists nearly every country that once made up the former Yugoslavia?
- XtheXlanternX, on 11/22/2008, -0/+7I think if you get a prescription for it, then it falls within privacy laws. If it is outright legalized, they really shouldn't make anyone take drug tests. They don't pay you for 24 hours a day, so if you smoke weed after work that is not their business. If you show up to work high, they can fire you.
- squareheart, on 11/22/2008, -0/+6I've been here 4 years and I haven't seen this enforcement you speak of, quite the opposite. in fact, www.webehigh.com reports, "Let's put it this way, there's a park across the police station. I have smoked there too many times to remember. I have personally seen people do all kinds of drugs, get *****-faced and drink their brains out in the middle of a grass field at anytime of the day."
However, I do agree that parking in Berkeley is atrocious - Benjamin10, on 11/21/2008, -2/+8I grew up in Fairfax, CA (Northern California) where weed was grown in backyards and basically sold in the health food store. What's up with that picture of the "Weed Starter Kits"?
- Someb0dy, on 11/22/2008, -1/+7Wow I didn't think Australia was that lenient. Although they forgot to mention that in most states you only get a couple of warnings. If you get caught a third time, you get convicted.
Meh, *lights up the bong*. - createcontent, on 11/22/2008, -1/+7Smoking pot makes me a better photographer,..hehe

What does this even mean? Am I the only one confused by this statement? - Jones82, on 11/22/2008, -0/+6Some people can by loose definitions be addicted to weed, it's just that it doesn't cause physical withdrawal and such, it's more of a psychological need
- davidmiller72, on 11/21/2008, -5/+10what about Israel?

- convergent, on 11/22/2008, -1/+6If you're going to call someone a moron, at least know how to press "reply"
- SolubleFish, on 11/22/2008, -2/+7I first started smoking pot at 15.... good times.
I only wish it still had the same effect as when I first started.... oh man.... seriously good times.
Ah well, at least I can function while stoned. - nihil, on 11/22/2008, -0/+5Massachusetts just decriminalized up to an ounce by way of referendum. As long as the legislature doesn't screw it up, the law will go into force sometime in December.
- Duffle, on 11/22/2008, -4/+9I'm 15. So what? Nobody cares how old I am and I'm sure the same is true for you. (On the subject of weed, my friends are probably high right now, weed and shrooms..)
- AngelBunny, on 11/22/2008, -0/+4you think Fairfax is liberal? check out Arcata. it might change your mind lol
i currently live in sebastopol which has elected a green party majority and is the first city to do so next to arcata as far as i know. it makes fairfax look conservative. i like how nice people are out here. - alex7575, on 11/22/2008, -0/+4"I'm sick of Fairfax defining themselves as liberal...
91.39% White
The median income for a household in the town was $58,465, and the median income for a family was $68,308. Males had a median income of $51,457 versus $40,815 for females."
Got it :
Middle class White folk can't be Liberals, Check! - TheSkunkMonkey, on 11/22/2008, -0/+4Treat it the same way they treat other legal drugs like alcohol and prescription drugs. Just as you don't want your bus driver drunk and they have policies and measures in place to deal with it, the same can be done for marijuana.
- DrunkMcGee, on 11/22/2008, -1/+5you mean occupied palestine
- zTomer, on 11/22/2008, -2/+6roll it with "zig zags" or it's called rizla too...
besides that, you can find bongs and hookahs.
you can make an apple pipe, or what not man, be creative :] - edebolt, on 11/22/2008, -0/+4notice the article had next to nothing about Asian countries because they are mostly very illegal and strict against pot. Also very illegal in just about every Islamic country. The author says he has smoked pot with Thai fisherman in the open. Sure I live in Thailand and people do it but don't get caught or you will be paying big fines and if you don't have the money then it's off to the nasty immigration jail and deportation.
- Oppslagsverk, on 11/22/2008, -0/+4The same in Scandinavia, really hard to get any weed, which is sad really.
- idc5, on 11/22/2008, -1/+5great article, but I wish it included the various states and their laws
