Obviously, if people are digging this, that means they have never seen it before and think it's cool, don't remember seeing it and think it's cool, or have seen it before, but still think it looks cool.
- robotto, on 04/03/2008, -1/+1I think he means the submitter should have payed more attention to duplicates when he presses that ' I swear it's totally original' button...

- yoshitomi, on 04/03/2008, -1/+3thanks to your wikipedia link, i just spent the better half of my productive morning reading up about plants. you know what I've learnt? broccoli and cauliflower are the same exact species! and that species includes cabbage and brussel sprouts (which i hate, so let's not talk about them). How can I like certain members of a species, but hate other? this is terrible, I'm a plant racist!
- mrboratsagdiev, on 04/03/2008, -1/+1You can buy your own seeds for Romanesco Broccoli at Seed Savers Exchange. Highly recommended to grow if you want to surprise folks coming over for dinner with something unexpected, since it's pretty hard to find in most stores.
- cawpin, on 04/03/2008, -7/+5Dupe, again.
- polarpaw, on 04/03/2008, -14/+7Too Old.
Could Not Read.- nomadxx7, on 04/03/2008, -1/+2Wait. You're too old to read?
- beargrylls, on 04/03/2008, -8/+8I'm not worthy of eating that.
- RadiatedAnt, on 04/03/2008, -3/+1You are not worthy of digg.
- terrordemon, on 04/03/2008, -5/+12its called a roman cauliflower. btw
- jotatmo, on 04/03/2008, -0/+3it's actually called romanesco broccoli.
- HissingPixie, on 04/03/2008, -7/+3That thing is awesome but the photography is phenomenal!

- mwhatley, on 04/03/2008, -4/+1I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at, but it looks cool!
- minolium, on 04/03/2008, -3/+27I ate one of these and instantly understood the universe.
- seabass341, on 04/03/2008, -11/+1Fractals are everywhere in nature if you know where to look. Looking at any leaf from and plant you could find a fractal. I dont need this picture.
- WhatInThe42o, on 04/03/2008, -1/+3This picture does not need you. Buried for being a miserable jerk.
- skyz, on 04/03/2008, -4/+1beautiful enough to eat
- debuffplx, on 04/03/2008, -4/+2This broccolis is sufficient.

- chanop, on 04/03/2008, -4/+3But, can I smoke it?
- finalcloud33, on 04/03/2008, -4/+3Looks like it should belong in a JRPG
- isntreal, on 04/03/2008, -3/+4I actually bought seeds for this after the first time I saw it.
- Dynamoo, on 04/03/2008, -3/+1Actually, they taste revolting. Nice to look at though.
- spiritditch, on 04/03/2008, -0/+2Same with existence.
- Jist, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1I've eaten these on my last trip to Europe. I had no clue what it was, but it didn't taste revolting. It was a bit bland, but not bad at all.
- spiritditch, on 04/03/2008, -0/+2Same with existence.
- aoki4, on 04/03/2008, -8/+1how does this trash get to front page?
- iamnobody8614, on 04/03/2008, -0/+2Well, you see, people click the "digg it" button and if a whole bunch of people (or even a small number very quickly) click on that button the article gets chosen by the algorithm that governs this web site to be shown its front page . Welcome to Digg the social networking news site!
- ByrcheWroot, on 04/03/2008, -2/+2Unfortunately, they taste like Nerf.
- xXIrsotehkewlXx, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1Really? Can you soak them in water and chuck them at people?
- vwerf, on 04/03/2008, -2/+1Thats how it looks going in, but trust me that pattern isn't so pretty comin out.
- nomadxx7, on 04/03/2008, -2/+3Got to love the Fibonacci sequence.
- ClemyNX, on 04/03/2008, -2/+1In italy, particularly in rome, this is very popular. Actualluy it's not a broccoli, but a kind of cauliflower.
- gerryk, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1They're all brassicas... as are cabbages, sprouts etc
- NJank, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1you mean it's not a cauliflower, but a kind of broccoli...
- ClemyNX, on 04/03/2008, -2/+1http://www.inference.phy.cam.ac.uk/mackay/cauliflo ...
- Qays, on 04/03/2008, -3/+1It looks like its spiraling towards the top.
- nomadxx7, on 04/03/2008, -0/+2It actually spirals in both directions. Each spiral (left-to-right or right-to-left) is a Fibonacci number
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibonacci_number - billygotee, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1This must be the most brilliant comment I've seen in the past second.
- nomadxx7, on 04/03/2008, -0/+2It actually spirals in both directions. Each spiral (left-to-right or right-to-left) is a Fibonacci number
- bigbill780, on 04/03/2008, -3/+5I was actually thinking about this the other day while having dinner. How often do you actually take a really close look at what you are eating?
- nomadxx7, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1Seeing the amount of obesity and weight related ailments, I'd say not much
- theAlice, on 04/03/2008, -3/+31/0
OH SHI- - contortpiezo, on 04/03/2008, -5/+1i put his on my desktop background at work and everyone was like wtf is that? i was like ITS BROCCOLI BITCH!
- papastout, on 04/03/2008, -2/+2Romansesco Broccoli - almost too pretty to eat...
Almost - RadiatedAnt, on 04/03/2008, -2/+1Now melt some cheese over it please :)
- IgWannA, on 04/03/2008, -2/+5not only is it a fractal but it's a golden spiral too.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_spiral - curbstompery, on 04/03/2008, -2/+2Chopping broccola.. chopping broccolow, chopping broccolay!
- zantos420, on 04/03/2008, -2/+4looks like some weird dank
- RogueMountie, on 04/03/2008, -2/+0The proper way to eat this is to take progressively smaller and smaller bites. It's called "fractal eating".
- haobaba1, on 04/04/2008, -1/+1wish mine was that pretty: http://www.flickr.com/photos/glloyd/2386547476/
- Snowli, on 04/04/2008, -1/+0look thats funny

- disher91, on 04/05/2008, -0/+0Another picture
http://fridaysunset.net/creation/Romanesco.jpg - peterschussheim, on 04/08/2008, -0/+1These certainly are available in stores but I find them to have an inferior taste to broccoli and cauliflower and a subpar texture. They are pretty tho.
