- CityFarmer, on 05/19/2008, -0/+13Very interesting. I wonder if excessive levels of fluoride (I have signs of enamel fluorosis) have contributed to my thyroid problems.
The first line is rather frightening: "Fluoride, in the form of silicofluorides, injected into 2/3 of U.S. public water supplies, ostensibly to reduce tooth decay, was never safety-tested."
Never safety-tested, and they're sending it to everyone in their drinking water? - Cryptocracy, on 08/17/2008, -2/+11adding "medicine" to water supplies to treat everyone is ridiculous, even if it was proven to be safe. The "pharmacists" (your local water board) have no idea how large a dose each person will receive because everyone drinks different amounts of water!
- Becca4RonPaul, on 05/23/2008, -0/+8I had heard different mutterings about the dangers of fluoride and was curious, but never encountered anything substantive. I'm still looking, but so far it seems fluoride truly has no proven benefits, and very serious health risks, like permanent discoloration and pitting of the teeth, harmful effects on the brain and skeletal structure, and other claims I'm still investigating. The case against fluoride seems very strong. It is VERY alarming that fluoride was never safety-tested, is considered a "drug", and is added in high amounts to ALL public water supplies without any regard for the individual's health needs, age, weight or constitution--in effect, taking a very important and consequential personal health decision OUT OF THE INDIVIDUAL'S HANDS, and giving it to the State--without evidence of benefit, and in spite of mounting evidence of serious harm. See http://www.fluoridealert.org/ for research and statements by health professionals on fluoride. This is IMPORTANT!! It affects ALL OF US on a DAILY BASIS.
- Jan33, on 05/20/2008, -0/+8I hate to say it but i guess colonel Jack D. Ripper had it right
"invading our..bodily..fluids..." - inactive, on 05/23/2008, -1/+5Fluoride was first put into water in nazi concentration camps to quell the motivation of the prisoners to try and escape. -- Zookeepers have long known that giving the animals flouridated water caused their bones to crumble and their teeth to fall out.
Interesting diatribe on the subject:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=NpFu_bYkomc - inactive, on 05/23/2008, -0/+4That's why we drink reverse osmosis purified water. I don't think the chlorine in municipal water is good for you either. You can't keep fish in it without leaving it out overnight first, and look at how much better plants do on rainwater. Chlorine can't be good for you.
- Becca4RonPaul, on 05/23/2008, -1/+5That is THE salient point here. Thanks for pointing it out so aptly. Way to go.
- CityFarmer, on 05/23/2008, -0/+3At least Toms of Maine offers a choice. You can buy their products either with or without fluoride.
- inactive, on 05/23/2008, -0/+3These guys sell fluoride removal water filters:
http://www.crystalquest.com/ - lazerus9, on 05/23/2008, -0/+3Bad stuff!
I wrote to Toms of Maine months ago and asked if they were aware of the fluoride controversy and they replied to me saying-"We only use natural fluoride from our own mines".............What?
Here is a good video on the subject:http://youtube.com/watch?v=Q3y8uwtxrHo - CityFarmer, on 05/23/2008, -0/+2Right ... fluoride is considered a drug. If you don't think so, go to your local pharmacy and try to buy some fluoride. You need a prescription. Oh, yeah, you can also get fluoride just by turning on your faucet at home.
- Becca4RonPaul, on 05/23/2008, -0/+2Don't forget to sign the petition to Congress, which is linked to the story. ; )
- inactive, on 05/23/2008, -0/+2God bless their souls. Someone has to sell them; But I predict a ban on such filters leading to a 'black market' in them. That actually could be the best way to 'wake' more people up -- banning the filters!!
- Becca4RonPaul, on 05/23/2008, -0/+2Thank you!!! Rock on!!
- lazerus9, on 05/23/2008, -0/+2Yes! You are correct, but they are no longer the privately held niche market quirky company they once were since they have been acquired by Colgate.
- XanderDee, on 05/23/2008, -0/+1Remember only North America puts the main ingredient in rat poison (fluoride) in the water.
- Heysal, on 05/24/2008, -0/+1Lets not forget that you don't need to drink it - if you BATHE in it your skin will absorb it, so just filtering drinking water is not enough. It has to end - the first MSM broadcast about fluoride poison is about to be released in NZ the 26th - The forces of evil will soon need to say goodbye to their first plan to subdue the populations.
I have posted it on my site if you are interested:
http://selfreliancesurvivalsystems.com/uncategoriz ... - inactive, on 05/23/2008, -0/+1Fluoride is not added to all public water supplies. It's a city-by-city decision.
- Becca4RonPaul, on 05/23/2008, -0/+1I'm glad to hear that. At least there are some communities that aren't being poisoned daily. Out of curiosity, how do you know this to be true?
- mck873, on 05/10/2009, -0/+0I Agree with Heysal, just because we don't drink it doesn't mean we aren't absorbing it, how else do things get into our bodies, Our skin, eyes, nose. Have you ever read the back of your toothpaste it says DO NOT SWALLOW.
Fluoride is the only chemical added to drinking water for the purpose of medication (to prevent tooth decay). All other treatment chemicals are added to treat the water (to improve the water's quality and safety - which fluoride does not do). This is one of the reasons why most of Europe has rejected fluoridation, Yet we in North America are again dragging our feet...for what reason...someone somewhere is getting paid for the fluoride going into the water, health insurance companies are taking their dues but not paying our for the illnesses know to be caused by fluoride. I've provided some facts on fluoride that may not be all to know you can find them at http://ccwaterfilters.com/Articles/General-Article ...
