- lschofield, on 05/10/2008, -0/+2I imagine that people will start learning these tricks out of necessity as prices on necessities go up and belts tighten. Look for a rush on french presses and at home cappucino / espresso machines.
- Blakechi, on 05/10/2008, -0/+2Bustela - best ground coffee made.
- shadowmoses, on 05/10/2008, -0/+2Good article. Bodum French Presses are the best you can get in my opinion in terms of function, quality and design. Also make sure you use freshly boiled water when using a french press makes all the difference.
- ReidFleming, on 05/10/2008, -0/+2Some wrong stuff in that story. Number one is really the most egregious: French press? Bad, as the bitter acids are left in the brew. Plus, boiling water and coffee beans don't mix. 2 - 5 are fine. I'd change number one to read - use a quality paper cone filter over a basket filter and never use the gold ones.
Now, do I ever use a french press? Sure, there is a different taste there and I enjoy diversity. When I'm in Greece, I drink a lot of Greek coffee. In other countries, I try what's available. It's just that, for a great, all-around cup o' joe, use water just under the boiling point and brew it *slowly* through a quality filter.- ColonelTribune, on 05/10/2008, -0/+1Greek coffee is quite tasty. Probably the best you can get anywhere.
