- walker4bc, on 06/03/2009, -1/+23Why didn't this article address the truly important question - how does this taste with Vodka?
- MayorMcCheapo, on 06/03/2009, -0/+20Maybe tea explains why ADD is more prevalent in the US than in England or India.
- pingpants, on 06/03/2009, -0/+18Chinese emperors' secret sport drink was tea.
- yesbeegee, on 06/03/2009, -1/+16So many gullible people - they just can't brew the magic potions fast enough!
- EddiePotato, on 06/03/2009, -0/+15Can of energy drink: $3.00
Tea bag + hot water: $0.10
Nature already got the balance right. - atlasdugged, on 06/03/2009, -0/+11I may be gullible, but I'd give this a try. Hyper-concentration is a very cool thing.
- NCSD, on 06/03/2009, -0/+11Screw energy drinks for studying. Take some adderal. That stuff is steroids for studying, its great!
- lazn, on 06/03/2009, -0/+10Calm is the new Hyper
- janjamm, on 06/03/2009, -0/+9I want L-theanine! All this texting and tweeting and emailing and facebooking and blogging is distracting. Hard to stay with one thing. Maybe the L-theanine will direct my attention, like a laser.
- pinkflyingpig, on 06/03/2009, -0/+9Tea rocks! That was why I always drunk tea before a deadline.
- pinkflyingpig, on 06/03/2009, -0/+8You don't need tea, you need a doctor.
- MooseOfReason, on 06/03/2009, -0/+8BREAKING: Scientists say sleep more effective than energy drinks!
- senorboombino, on 06/03/2009, -0/+8Time to set up tea IVs so I can mainline the stuff!
- ThatsNotPudding, on 06/03/2009, -0/+8Classic move by this industry. Possibly slight benefits from tiny amounts of an extract, SO LETS ADD TWO QUARTS TO EACH BOTTLE AND MAKE IT GLOW IN THE DARK TOO!!!!
- frequentFlyer, on 06/03/2009, -0/+8I think I'll go make some tea.
- americanoboy, on 06/03/2009, -0/+8americans will eat anything if someone on tv tells them to. if a tv commercial told them they'll live healthy if the eat ***** then they'll be sitting there fishing for turds in the toilet.
- mrfuzz, on 06/03/2009, -0/+7I feel so calm knowing this.
- guttersniper, on 06/03/2009, -0/+7I use L-theanine as a sleep aid. Now it's going to be in energy drinks. I don't know what to believe!
- TheMachine1, on 06/03/2009, -0/+7Taurine is not a stimulant. Its in energy drinks likely to counter some of the sympathetic nervous system(SNS) stimulation of caffeine. So a large dose of caffeine has more pronounced CNS action and less body stimulation.
- inactive, on 06/03/2009, -0/+7WANNA RIDE BIKES?
- inactive, on 06/03/2009, -0/+6no they would need someone else to do it and sell their own turds back to them for $150
- wannaBdug, on 06/03/2009, -1/+7Tea is why so many Brits are proper about everything. That doesn't explain it's rugby players tho.
- pinkflyingpig, on 06/03/2009, -0/+6Cost a fortune to have Chinese emperors' tea, but it does taste good and create some "special effect".
- inactive, on 06/03/2009, -0/+6High dose L-theanine has mild withdrawal symptoms.
- bigal590, on 06/03/2009, -0/+5Quit being a pussy and just take 15mg of Adderall. You'll be focused for a good 6-7 hours. Just don't be a dumbass and overdo it.
- spunalot, on 06/03/2009, -0/+5GHB was also found to have a calming effect on the brain. Also an amino acid.
- ahhell, on 06/03/2009, -0/+5But does it have what plants crave????
- inactive, on 06/03/2009, -0/+5After pumping you up with caffeine, guarana and taurine until your veins pop with anxiety and stress, they sell the antidote!
- NJRFilms, on 06/03/2009, -0/+4This was posted months ago. If you are interested in it, do some research on nootropics. You can buy the stuff in bulk and get much better effects at a much lower cost.
- AndrewMoyer, on 06/03/2009, -0/+4You win.
- Beatmiser, on 06/03/2009, -0/+4I was surprised by how many people are not aware of even the term nootropics. For those who want more info, the Wikipedia page is surprisingly right on (for once)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_enhancement - Grolsch, on 06/03/2009, -0/+4L-theanine is awesome, been using it for a couple months.
Energy drink + 300mg of theanine, makes me pretty focused and easy to study as well. - RudeTurnip, on 06/03/2009, -0/+4FWIW, I tried a "7 Hour Energy" shot and I could not concentrate for 2 straight hours for a project, which kind of defeated the purpose. I leveled out after a while and could focus on my work, but I ended up staying up all night.
- inactive, on 06/03/2009, -1/+5My tea is like 15 cents, but that's because I'm a snob. :) celestial seasonings ftw!
- NJRFilms, on 06/03/2009, -0/+3Erowid has some good info too:
http://www.erowid.org/smarts - blackgt93, on 06/03/2009, -0/+3I don't think teabagging a cup of hot water is really going to calm me down.
- Zaxcomp, on 06/03/2009, -0/+3I'm glad you made me finally go wiki it. Interesting read, and I can finally counter the ever present "taurine is bull piss" you hear when ordering vodka and Red Bull. It isn't bull piss, but it is in bull's piss.
- Oea420, on 06/03/2009, -0/+3Stop lying about the redbull and just tell us how you mainlined a gram of meth, way more entertaining
- donteatmyrice, on 06/03/2009, -0/+3Advertisers throw few scientific names and people feel secure unconsciously. Mass media and pseudo science.
- memper, on 06/03/2009, -0/+3The first, even small dose of breathing has major withdrawal symptoms.
- Jektal, on 06/03/2009, -0/+3"We make the cure; we make the disease"
- TheMachine1, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2L-theanine use would be to take some of the CNS edge off. Stimulants make you anxious. L-theanine can counter that.
- EndouOuto, on 06/04/2009, -0/+2You fail at snobbery.
- RudeTurnip, on 06/03/2009, -1/+3Kevin Rose is laughing at this comment.
- andytronic, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2Well, then it'll probably taste like cough-syrup with vodka, just like the other energy drinks do.
- Jektal, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2Celestial Seasonings isn't tea. It's potpourri-infused water.
- jtinz, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2***** is probiotic.
- 0tis, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2Tea leaves! If you're going to do it, do it right :D
- Grolsch, on 06/04/2009, -0/+1Is that a fact?
