- rumour95, on 10/15/2008, -0/+1Dasani is a Coca Cola brand...not Pepsi.
- hiproductions, on 10/15/2008, -1/+2I think its hilarious that this writer says, "many of the contaminants come from the tap water used to make the bottled water" - obviously, if the bottled water takes contaminated water as its base source and then submits it to a water purification/treatment procedure thereafter, its going to be better than the original stank water it was taken from. This is a biased story by tree huggers to get everyone to start drinking nasty stank water just so we don't use plastic.
- supersayanyoda, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1i guess we should all go back and start drinking rum again.
- pursanova, on 10/15/2008, -0/+1Our company has been trying to warn the public for years, but since we are not the major voice it was always overlooked.
Well it is all out of the bag now, but what are you going to do about it?

- dreammamaker182, on 10/15/2008, -0/+1No surprise here. I still like the stuff because it's convenient...I think the contaminants probably make it taste better than some tap water.
- purpleerckleman, on 10/15/2008, -0/+1ya i knew it had contaminants in it
the only water that i think has none is figi water but then again it could u never know
i always thought arrowhead tasted like it had chlorine in it - mbann, on 10/15/2008, -0/+0Funny how the story that debunks this study is not being shown The levels of HPC bacteria found is actually lower then in most foods we eat. Yes some bottled water is purified/filtered municipal waters, but many are from actual springs. There is a difference before spring and purified water. There also have been reports of pharmacueticals in municipal water, which may find its way in bottled purified water, a lot less likely in bottled spring water. The group who did this study is an environmental advocacy group who want stricter water control. Hopefully the story telling the other side will appear in Yahoo. I work in the Quality Department of bottled water company, we do spring, purified, and distilled, and do daily and hourly testing of the water.
I would put my life on the quality of our water. I have well water at home, but I drink bottled. Beside the arguement shouldn't be between tap and bottled water, which both are good for you, but rather between sugary softdrinks and bottled water. - dreammamaker182, on 10/16/2008, -0/+0"Beside the arguement shouldn't be between tap and bottled water, which both are good for you, but rather between sugary softdrinks and bottled water."
I agree 100% - mzatto, on 10/15/2008, -0/+0How funny is it that Dasani is just bottled SoCal tap water, than ran down an aquaduct from NorCal... damn Pepsi!!!
- thexter711, on 10/15/2008, -0/+0I know of a company and product that's actually trying to end the whole bottled water crisis that the world's going through right now. Especially with the cost of bottled water being so high and the quality so low, they offer a better-than-bottled-quality-water product. Also, over 26 billion plastic bottles plague our land fills every year with over 16.5 billion gallons of water wasted in the production of the bottles. The website for their H2.0 bottle is below.
www.EndBottledWater.com - serpestyle, on 10/16/2008, -0/+0Very upset about this whole thing, but again i could expect it from some companies. Specially from Walmart and some other cheap tasting bottles of water. On the other hand, I do not think that researchers put this up so that we stop using plastic. Even though it actually is a good point to stop using plastic bottles since they are contaminating our earth. Also, consumers are being charged for it i dont know if everyone noticed, but every time that you purchase bottles of water you are being charged 5 cents extra. Still that is not the funniest part about it. Companies encourage you to go and recycle. Well let me tell you that they dont even give you 5 cents for each bottle when you go recycle like it says on the bottle. They only give you 4 cents, so not only you are not getting your money back, but you have to wait in line many times for over an hour to just get 4 cents out of your 5 cents back. PRETTY SAD!
