- electricwaffles, on 10/16/2009, -4/+42So, SNL's 12 viewers will be exposed to an hour and a half of intermittent Bud Light commercials.
- brucealmighty, on 10/16/2009, -4/+34Will this be, like, a contest to see which is more boring - the show or the commercials? Not that I actually care, having given them both up some time ago.
- pingpants, on 10/16/2009, -2/+27Jack Donaghy approves.
- inactive, on 10/17/2009, -3/+26*Budweiser* is a sin against beer drinkers everywhere.
Digg up if you know what beer is,
Digg down if you like Bud Lite. - 17999, on 10/17/2009, -4/+22The best part of this is that Bud Light commercials are consistently funny. Finally, some consistent humor comes back to NBC on Saturday nights.
- ygugsa295, on 10/17/2009, -3/+17If I want a beer, I'll drink a beer. If I want water, I'll drink water. If I want something in between that fails at both, I'll drink Bud Lite. (You may replace Bud Lite with the pisslager of your choice.)
Somewhat related: I loved Norm MacDonald. The ***** was good at jokes that made you go, "ohhhhh". Like this gem:
"Just days after she was freed by a Massachusetts judge, British nanny Louise Woodward has received numerous job offers from families seeking an au pair. Although her attorneys refuse to say precisely who has made these offers, speculation has surfaced that JonBenet Ramsey's parents are expecting." - Uklamok, on 10/17/2009, -1/+15It is a good move on NBC's part. If their audience drinks more beer people might find the show funny.
- byronne, on 10/17/2009, -1/+8Bud Light Wheat?
A sin against beer drinkers everywhere. - commasplices, on 10/17/2009, -2/+9Whose shelf life is longer? SNL's or Bud Light's?
- AnotherBrian, on 10/17/2009, -2/+7Apparently buying all the air time on one episode of SNL also buys them publicity on Digg.
Buried as lame. - YourMomsAnAnon, on 10/17/2009, -1/+6You got your ***** beer on my comedy.
You got your ***** comedy in my beer. - blitzwing85, on 10/17/2009, -1/+4I don't know about Golden Wheat, but I love Golden Grahams.
- inactive, on 10/17/2009, -1/+4Seconded.
- brandontx, on 10/17/2009, -2/+5OMG, are you able to hear what most of us can only see? I'm jealous.
- colinmhayes, on 10/17/2009, -0/+2rice AND wheat!
- yodawgg, on 10/17/2009, -2/+4No...1.2 million...if The Lonely Island has a piece. If not, then 12.
- ctabone, on 10/17/2009, -2/+4In other news, Budweiser continues to make "new" beer that US micro breweries and European distributors have been selling regularly for decades.
- captininsanity, on 10/17/2009, -1/+3I'm gonna say Bud. At least SNL used to be good...
- ChromaVita, on 10/17/2009, -2/+4Wouldn't you feel like such a dick if he was blind and had comments read aloud by software?
- DaviDTC, on 10/17/2009, -1/+3I will now know what it is like to be a person at a superbowl party who doesn't care for football.
- phoxix, on 10/17/2009, -0/+2Budweiser is attempt to clamp down on the sky rocketing popularity of Blue Moon (by Coors)
The problem is Blue Moon actually tastes good .... - ChromaVita, on 10/17/2009, -2/+4***** that, I like girls that can drink beer.
- gfryesc, on 10/17/2009, -0/+2it's already paying dividends. you guys are giving it exposure right here and some of you will tell your friends and Busch didn't pay for that. smart move.
- colinmhayes, on 10/17/2009, -0/+1***** that, get her roofies.
- mugsoh, on 10/17/2009, -0/+1Picnic beer? Beer is beer. You almost sound like you almost know what you are talking about; however, you fail to explain exactly what the difference is between beer and (your made up classification) picnic beer.
Sure there are different styles for different occasions. - mugsoh, on 10/17/2009, -0/+1Anheuser-Bush InBev is trying to branch out and capture a part of the only growth in the beer industry and that is craft brews. These are mostly ales as opposed to lagers and extremely diverse in the styles offered. They own 25% of Red Hook and have put out several beers under other labels. I guess they think they may have a chance to appear like a micro if they AB name is prominent on the bottle. Among these are
Landshark Lager (yet another American Pale Lager from AB InBev)
ShockTop (Belgian White or Witbier)
Drunk Monkey (Amber Ale)
Jack’s Pumpkin Spice Ale
Beach Bum Blonde (blonde ale)
Green River Brewing Stone Mill Pale Ale
Tequiza (spice ale)
Pacific Ridge Pale Ale
And Many others - inactive, on 10/17/2009, -1/+2Only if you're trying to feel bloated.
- Darrelc, on 10/17/2009, -0/+1'Guess what I'm drinking. Right now.'
A pint of your own smug?
Yeah,... Ill go into a club and ask for a pint of dogs colon or whatever stupid name these ales have. There's a time for drinking ale and a time for drinking lagers.
Don't act like such a holier than thau douche - clonkid, on 10/17/2009, -7/+8Bud Light and everything related to them sucks.
That is all I have to say. - ChromaVita, on 10/17/2009, -1/+2 See, I completely agree with this. Although instead of "picnic beer" there's beer I drink to get drunk for the cheap, and beer I'll have one or two of to enjoy. I'll throw back some high life, but I'm also completely aware that it's not a "good" beer. (just the best for the cost.)
- MixMastaKooz, on 10/18/2009, -0/+1Listen kid, not all women like cranberry and vodka. Any single guy realizes that having options available is the right way to go: beer, wine (red and white), and several liquors with mixers. But if you're trying to impress her with your vast collection of "***** me" drinks, then having something like BL Golden Wheat would be a safe option for a nice lady who wants to be down to earth and doesn't want to look pretentious.
- partrow, on 10/17/2009, -0/+1Is their Golden Wheat beer another rice beer?
- DifferentAngle, on 10/17/2009, -0/+1I tried this when I visited their brewery... not good. Better than bud light, not as good as a real wheat.
- byronne, on 10/17/2009, -0/+1I was actually unsmugly drinking PBR - and enjoying the hell out of it.
Boy, there's a lot of anger out there. - Atario, on 10/24/2009, -0/+1I watched, and there were plenty of ads other than theirs. What gives?
- machocheese34, on 10/17/2009, -1/+2that's my favorite cereal
- schrutefan, on 10/17/2009, -0/+1This could only be good if they have SNL write all the commericals.
http://www.funnyhub.com/videos/pages/snl-schmitts- ... - Billistic, on 10/17/2009, -1/+1Yeah well you kind of need to be drunk to find SNL funny, so I guess it's a good fit.
- byronne, on 10/17/2009, -1/+1Keep in mind that there is a big difference between 'beer' and 'picnic beer'. Bud is and always has been a 'picnic beer', along with Naragansett, Rhinelander, Pearl, Carling's Black Label, Schaefer, Coors (banquet beer?), Hamms, Pabst, etc. Even the venerable Miller High Life is still just a 'picnic beer'.
Real beer? The one you make yourself and share with friends.
Honest beer? There's many candidates, but I happen to be partial to Red Hook & Anchor Steam. Great Lakes also makes some great brews, as does Three Floyds.
Guess what I'm drinking. Right now. - Kruse, on 10/17/2009, -1/+1Sooo...I'm supposed to drink Bud Light, right?
- hoodedrobin, on 10/17/2009, -1/+1Labatt guy... Sorry Budweiser
- saranagati, on 10/17/2009, -1/+1mmmm.... red hook.
- inactive, on 10/17/2009, -3/+2thank god...that means we won't have to listen to you again.
- SylarDX, on 10/17/2009, -2/+1Nice,
SNL Is okay, not as funny as they were back in the day, but decent.
And bud light? Mmmm Mmmm Good! - 808atheist, on 10/17/2009, -2/+1King of beer bitches. KING OF BEERS!!
I'm being ironic, but I'm drinking a budweiser right now.
I have no money, less taste and like getting drunk. - janjamm, on 10/17/2009, -3/+2Wheat me! I deserve it.
- jarjarwang, on 10/17/2009, -3/+2Here are the sketches I am most looking forward to: The one where the woman acts like a retarded person. The one where the dorky white guy raps and talks like a black guy. I'm also looking forward to the one where Obama talks about balloon boy.
- Misinformant, on 10/17/2009, -2/+1Wow!
Sounds like it'll be excruciatingly obnoxious! -
