- Archaic1, on 06/07/2009, -1/+111Judging from his two missing limbs and exposed organs I'd say a hangover would be the least of that guy's concerns.
- MarkCiccone, on 06/07/2009, -1/+54On a side note...The Hangover was hilarious.
- inactive, on 06/07/2009, -1/+45The best hangover cure is greasy food.
- MrInfallible, on 06/07/2009, -1/+35A large glass of water before going to bed works very well in my experience.
- freshpow, on 06/07/2009, -2/+32Pain Reliever: Opioids over Acetaminophen. Dammn straight
- IUAndar, on 06/07/2009, -0/+25I thought figure 8 referred to "beer *****" which you really can't prevent. God, the next day is just waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'm on edge all day until that vile act is completed.
- GoKings, on 06/06/2009, -2/+27Ah yes... The dreaded whiskey dick...
- zosoleary, on 06/07/2009, -1/+23i've tried everything and the only thing that seems to work for me is a big gatorade and some bong rips
- inactive, on 06/06/2009, -0/+17So that's what is wrong with me today?
- DeathRay2K, on 06/07/2009, -1/+17Agreed.
Or to play it safe, have a glass of water per glass of beer/shot, it's very, very effective. - whirlingderv, on 06/07/2009, -5/+19Or maybe "don't get *****?" Abstinence from alcohol is not the only preventive for a hangover...
- whirlingderv, on 06/07/2009, -0/+13Whiskey dick? Is that what Fig. 8 refers to? I was wondering what "Unsolvable Predicament" one could have with their ***** that could be both caused and solved by drinking alcohol...
On a sidenote, drinking MORE cures whiskey dick?? - WoWii, on 06/07/2009, -1/+11Step 1: Wake up with hangover
Step 2: smoke a bowl
Step 3: hangover goes away - Mossman85, on 06/07/2009, -0/+10Smoke weed and you won't have to worry about hangovers.
- kspanks04, on 06/07/2009, -0/+10sounds like the best day ever
- LoveYouSomeEric, on 06/07/2009, -0/+9Rush, is that you?
- woofers07, on 06/07/2009, -0/+9Whiskey dick has nothing to do with a hang over. It's clearly pointing at the colon, which leads me to my favorite saying after taking a hangover *****, "Funny, I don't remember eating 12 feet of barb-wire last night."
- badwithcomputer, on 06/07/2009, -0/+8the guys from the hangover keep getting asked the same question from every reporter at every press junket: what's the best remedy for a hangover? in a genius move, they all got together and decided to tell everyone who asks them that the same answer: roasted beets.
- passedoutghost, on 06/07/2009, -0/+8Despite the amount my mate and I drink, we usually finish the night with some Gatorade and 2 sausage rolls. We wake up about 7 hours later feeling fine.
- LeroyJenkems, on 06/07/2009, -4/+11My cure is to smoke weed e'eryday instead.
- niteskunk, on 06/07/2009, -0/+7Denny's after a long night of drinking = the single most absolute amazing thing in the whole world. Had it the night of my 21st birthday. Went to bed feeling amazing, woke up feeling amazing.
- netfool, on 06/07/2009, -2/+8Where's the BACON!
- gerrymac, on 06/07/2009, -0/+6Nope thats bull *****, they just didn't drink enough. Alcohol is a poison, and it makes you sick... if you drink enough.
- spectecjr, on 06/07/2009, -0/+6No doctor either, but I've done extensive tests :)
B complex - good, especially B12 (sublingual, NOT cyanocobalmin - but any of the others).
B1 should also be taken - it gets wiped out pretty fast drinking alcohol, and is the cause of most dementia in alcoholics.
N-Acetyl Cysteine will also help *before* drinking.
Eggs (choline, protein, cholesterol) - helps restore neurotransmitters, powers your liver up
Gatorade - for sugar + electrolyte replacement.
Honey if you have nausea.
Ibuprofen if you must take a pain reliever - NEVER acetaminophen or paracetamol.
And last but not least, but very important - eyedrops (without an anti-redness agent).
The eyedrops are one of the big ones. Most of the headache you get with a hangover is NOT your head. It's your eyes - they dry out first, but most people can't localize that pain that well, so they feel it around their head. With practice you'll notice that it's all in your eyes. (Try closing them and putting a warm or cold moist cloth over them - you'll see what I mean).
Eyedrops fix this pretty fast and get rid of most of the pain. The rest will help with everything else. - Heywoodj, on 06/07/2009, -0/+6Anyone have any experience with B vitamins? Are they worth it, or voodoo ?
I'm planing a reign of terror tomorrow so Monday will suck. - peteyb1313, on 06/07/2009, -0/+5or Vaporize
- giggl3, on 06/07/2009, -1/+6***** hangovers just grab another beer and you will be fine.
- KarateMedia, on 06/07/2009, -0/+5Oh, also, if I can get motivated to do it, a good 30+ min. jog or visit to the gym the next day really seems to help, too. But the desire to exercise can be pretty low when you have a hangover.
- defendliberty, on 06/07/2009, -0/+5you take pain meds without alcohol?
- smokestack, on 06/07/2009, -0/+5it gets worse with age.. I spent today with a hangover I couldn't have imagined 5 years ago... I went from drinking twice as much and waking up just fine to spending most of today unable to even hold down a sip of water for 5 minutes... I gotta give it up...
- WhistlinTom, on 06/07/2009, -0/+4WATER..... before bed and then when you wake up. Done.
- spectecjr, on 06/07/2009, -0/+4Not the case, actually. There's plenty you can do. Most of it's a combination of B vitamins, cholesterol, protein, electrolytes, neurotransmitter precursors, sugars and eyedrops (because your eyes dehydrate first).
- Denelson83, on 06/07/2009, -0/+4And of course, if you are already hungover, there's only one cure for it... TIME.
- KarateMedia, on 06/07/2009, -2/+6For the past couple years, I've tried to maintain the following: Take a B vitamin, milk thistle, NAC, and sublingual B12 before a night of drinking, again before bed, and again the next morning. If possible, try to drink some water before bed, and definitely drink some first thing after waking. Keep drinking it throughout the day. Eat a high-fiber diet throughout the day after drinking.
It seems to help my aging body deal with alcohol better. I can't drink like I used to, but it does seem to help. - archimago42, on 06/07/2009, -0/+4I think the clouded thinking part is what people enjoy.
- chompapotamus, on 06/07/2009, -0/+4smoke a bowl before bed. it may seem pretty bob marley, but you sleep very well (and safely, you pill popping diggers) which is half of the hangover...right?
- AquaOSX, on 06/07/2009, -0/+4Really, if you have access to an IV saline drip, that'll make you feel like new in a couple of minutes. Problem is, you need to be or know a doctor, med student, EMT, fireman, etc.... and you need to cram a needle in your arm.
- SamSks, on 06/07/2009, -0/+3The thing you have to worry about NSAIDs like ibuprofen (Advil & Motrin are some named brands) is that it will increase your risk for stomach bleeding after drinking alcohol.
Acitomenophen (Tylenol) can blow out your liver after drinking.
So, be very very careful when using over the counter pain relievers after drinking. - itsbob, on 06/07/2009, -1/+4Unsolvable predicament?
- KarateMedia, on 06/07/2009, -1/+4I think it helps. I'm repeating myself from below, but I take a mix of vitamin B, milk thistle, N-Acetyl Cysteine and a sublingual B12 (supposedly the best way to take B12). I feel like it helps, and I've read various sources that seem to back that up, but I'm no doctor.
- lamejoketeller, on 06/07/2009, -2/+5my best hangover cure: bong loads and belle & sebastian
- SirBrittanicus, on 06/07/2009, -1/+4Figure 8 explains my horrible cases of the Whiskey *****.
- archimago42, on 06/07/2009, -0/+3You don't drink enough, it isn't that complicated. Since you can literally drink yourself to death if you try hard enough there is no one who won't eventually end up with a hangover after enough consumption.
- Serume, on 06/07/2009, -0/+3also the two liter bottle filled with water is essential for when you wake up in the morning and are thirsty as hell, and hurt to bad to get out of bed to get water
- RegularUser, on 06/07/2009, -0/+3Hair of the pussycat works for me.
- shreas, on 06/07/2009, -0/+3Severe liver toxicity is the major concern when mixing pain killers and alcohol. Tylenol is the hardest on the liver out of all the over-the-counter pain medications.
- InferiorWang, on 06/07/2009, -0/+3Acetaminophen and alcohol can tear up your liver. Ibuprofen and alcohol increases the risk of stomach bleeding. Opioids and alcohol pretty much just have a multiplier effect.
My question is, how am I supposed to have opiates ready when I have a hangover? It's not like doctors will prescribe you hydros as a hangover cure. And most opioids I know of either contain acetaminophen (like hydrocodone) or come in really high doses (like oxycontin). - flyingsquirle, on 06/07/2009, -0/+3***** that *****
