- OverThere, on 07/01/2009, -2/+64Damnit VA!!! I spend a good portion of my paycheck on this... AND FOR WHAT?? Just to be beaten by our ugly stepsister WV?????
- Velocity14, on 07/01/2009, -3/+51I'm surprised Oregon wasn't another shade darker with all our breweries, beer festivals, and bountiful supply of social gatherings for excuses just to drink beer in public.
Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a BBQ to attend and beer to deliver to my comrades.
...By bike. Portland style. - danvi, on 07/01/2009, -0/+47Mormons!
- Xaevier, on 07/01/2009, -0/+37New Yorkers drink more Wine/Hard liquors I believe, at least thats how it is in New Jersey.
- Bloodwine, on 07/01/2009, -6/+41Contrary to what you might think, not all southerners are racist rednecks living in doublewide trailers with transams on blocks in the front yard.
We also have more culture and activities than going to monster truck rallies. - PhoenixFlames, on 07/01/2009, -0/+28I'll drink to that!
- abadbronc, on 07/01/2009, -0/+28Woah! Totally uncalled for.
Our goats don't need beer to look pretty. - elchispito, on 07/01/2009, -1/+23Except they're really the same place.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible_belt - EddiePotato, on 07/01/2009, -1/+18They'd place similarly on a fun-per-capita chart.
- garryw, on 07/01/2009, -0/+17You think 100% of Utah is mormon? Try 55%.
- pintocat, on 07/01/2009, -2/+17Woot! Go Montana ;p
- eastwood24, on 07/01/2009, -0/+15Not much of a shocker Utah got dead last.
- mikebeezey, on 07/01/2009, -0/+15The rest of us hold ***** down.
- rmfootball69, on 07/01/2009, -1/+16Musta been passed out when the polling was done, because thats not the new york I know.
- 6minuteabs, on 07/01/2009, -2/+15New Yorkers are drinking Zima and Mike's Hard Lemonade.
- trentrezn0r, on 07/01/2009, -0/+13Too many connections10.242.33.69slo5HMA1n3
- whiteglove, on 07/01/2009, -0/+12Whoo North Dakota rocks considering we don't even have a brewery.
- joshblufs, on 07/01/2009, -0/+12Don't forget about all the people driving over the boarder from mass to shop at the state liquor stores and all around avoiding mass taxes. A very substantial amount of beer sold in NH goes right over the boarder.
- sulthernao, on 07/01/2009, -3/+15You see New Hampshire in dark blue? That's thanks Dartmouth University in Hangover, NH.
- Vosem, on 07/01/2009, -1/+13WI has got to be pushing that 40 gallon line.
- yaboyAllen, on 07/01/2009, -1/+12Hurray Beer!
- omgTHEPATRIOTS, on 07/01/2009, -1/+12What the hell is going on in the New York metro area?
- riseguy, on 07/01/2009, -0/+11Actually I was checking to see how Portland/Oregon did also. I just visited there and loved it (primarily due to the beer pubs and food carts)... and the mostly free transit to help w the ride home.
- ben72227, on 07/01/2009, -4/+14Yeah, I'm glad to be from the south. Property values are low, everything is cheap here; your money goes a lot further here than most places...plus people are a lot nicer/more hospitable than in other parts of the country.
- zagatbuzz, on 07/01/2009, -0/+10Alright fellow New Yorkers. Its time to hit the taps.
- drunkCatholic, on 07/01/2009, -0/+10***** you pal.
Montana is ***** awesome. I love living here. - m4ngo, on 07/01/2009, -2/+12beer
- TurboTex, on 07/02/2009, -3/+13Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb duummbb
- prrp, on 07/01/2009, -1/+10Isn't the bible belt more or less the south-east? Not the southern-midwest?
- tkeajax, on 07/02/2009, -0/+9Bourbon Country is Kentucky. Nowhere else.
- aliengoods, on 07/01/2009, -1/+10This measurement is made by the amount of alcohol purchased in a state compared to the number of people. Nevada only registers because of tourists who want to party their asses off. In reality, they're average at best.
Note: I lived in Vegas for a year. - ackbz1, on 07/01/2009, -1/+10mormons still drank 20 gallons per person?!
- Gegner, on 07/01/2009, -1/+9I thought California would be higher than that. Guess I need to try harder.
- ReinMasamuri, on 07/01/2009, -0/+8The Wisconsin average is fairly unbelievable.
First of all Madison is the biggest party school in the U.S. Second, I came from a small town around 30 miles south of Green Bay. We had around 2000 people living in that town.
We had 12 bars in that town... That's around 1 bar per 167 people. That's nuts! - ToastedFart, on 07/02/2009, -0/+7I go to West Virginia University and let me tell you, we drink a hell of a lot of beer.

- mysn239, on 07/01/2009, -0/+6Hard liquor is more popular over here in NJ
- bman85, on 07/01/2009, -2/+8Yeah... reprezentin' Reno, NV
lol - the most alcoholic city in the US.
And i'm proud to say that i probably contributed to those stats... - TehProphet, on 07/01/2009, -1/+7Yeah I expected better out of oregon too, I have certainly been doing my part.. Well I'm sure if they had the numbers we would win in weed consumption, especially in eugene.
- inactive, on 07/02/2009, -0/+6Wisconsin, out drinking your state since 1848!
- GilThielander, on 07/01/2009, -1/+7I would have expected Minnesota to be higher. For shame.
- Bartboy919, on 07/01/2009, -13/+19Are youe *really* glad to be from the south?
- antoniuk, on 07/01/2009, -5/+11Nevada wins again!
- RaysinX, on 07/01/2009, -1/+7hard liquer
- Spotacus, on 07/02/2009, -1/+7Did you try clicking on the map? You should be able to read it then.
- Spotacus, on 07/02/2009, -0/+6Actually, Montana won. Especially considering that they don't have tourists boosting their numbers.
