- Falor42, on 07/01/2008, -2/+25What? No Kansas City BBQ? Hell, no Kansas (or Nevada, Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri or the Dakotas..) Buried for being blatenly prejudiced against the farm states.
- meuse, on 06/30/2008, -2/+20The garbage plate didn't make the cut.
For the uninitiated, the garbage plate contains 2 burger patties atop large servings of macaroni salad and home fries, and covered in hot sauce. You can get the original at Nick Tahou Hots, but dozens of restaurants in Rochester, NY have their own knock-offs, which are often just as good if not better. - spilk, on 07/01/2008, -3/+20Uh, Coney Island Dogs in Detroit? Here I thought you would go to Coney Island for those...
And no NY Pizza? Or Cuban sandwiches in Tampa or Miami? this article sucks. - bsonline, on 07/01/2008, -0/+11http://www.neworleansonline.com/neworleans/cuisine ...
Google "traditional New Orleans Food" and you will find this sandwich before jumbalaya or even gumbo. Those last two are Louisiana favorites, but if you want to talk New Orleans, you're talking Coffee and Benets in the morning, Muffulettas for lunch and Pat O's for dinner.
Don't talk regional unless you are willing to research the region. - doctechnical, on 07/01/2008, -0/+10The inclusion of PBR on this list pretty much invalidates the rest of it for me. PBR is like making love in a canoe.
- Spartyon, on 07/01/2008, -2/+11considering how much you talk about how fat and debt ridden america is, its odd that you dugg the us elections the most out of any category the last 30 days.
go whine to your prime minister, and the queen, dick.
http://digg.com/users/533n - tattoojoo, on 07/01/2008, -1/+10buried for not including a G&M crabcake in Baltimore.
- mvanhorn, on 06/30/2008, -2/+11dugg for mission burritos in the north west
- horscategorie, on 07/01/2008, -0/+8The garbage plate was the first thing I looked for too. Although getting Anchor Bar's wings on there somewhat makes up for Men's Health's disastrous omission of the plate.
- selfdestruct, on 07/01/2008, -1/+9PBR is up there for Milwaukee? WTF
- sfkit, on 07/01/2008, -1/+9Loco Moco - Hawaiian
Rice, 2 Hamburger Patty's, Gravy, Topped with 2 Fried Eggs
MY ***** FAVORITE - cityscape, on 08/01/2008, -0/+8Where is the Cincinnati Three-Way or Cheese Coney? How do you cover regional foods in the Midwest and not touch on Cincinnati Chili? Like it or hate it, it should be on there.
- whiteghetto, on 07/01/2008, -0/+7Dugg for Rogue Ales
I even have a tattoo of the 'dead guy' ;) - EvilGeniusDan, on 07/01/2008, -0/+7The garbage plate shouldn't be legal. But dammit it's good.
- davidrools, on 07/01/2008, -0/+7Hell yeah In-N-Out...might just have that for lunch today
and how the hell is SF in the northwest and southwest? - LostnTransition, on 07/01/2008, -1/+8As you said Colorado isn't listed, and while maybe it shouldn't be. Crediting Rocky Mountain Oysters to Clinton, MT is royally ***** up.
- inactive, on 07/01/2008, -1/+8buried for page view whoring.
- 0xbaadf00d, on 07/01/2008, -0/+6PBR???????????
- nwa122, on 07/01/2008, -0/+6agree... Geno's and Pats is garbage. I do enjoy a nice Dalessandro's cheesesteak, but you can find a much better cheesesteak at a variety of privately owned Italian pizza/sub shops.. especially in the philly suburb area.
- santaliqueur, on 07/01/2008, -1/+7Trash America in every article, you'll fit in well here.
- rhino369, on 07/01/2008, -1/+7PBR is worse than Budweiser. I have to drink it when my girlfriend brings me to crappy hipster bars and its the only thing under 5 dollars a beer.
- hollyminkowski, on 07/01/2008, -0/+6Four White Castles, fries and a large orange drink.
Yum. - stealthalbino, on 07/01/2008, -1/+7Buried for fortune cookies being the best food mentioned for San Francisco.
- warispeace21, on 07/01/2008, -0/+6No kidding. The 'Midwest' map is a bad joke.
- cawpin, on 07/01/2008, -0/+5Agreed, it's not exactly my thing but it can't be left out.
- boilerjh, on 07/01/2008, -1/+6Buried for having PBR on the list. I did like how they had squirrel burgoo in the midwest, that is really good
- TheAngryMob, on 07/01/2008, -0/+5No crap. Typical metro American mentality.
Idaho Springs, CO: Beau Joe's Pizza. - MarkDTS, on 07/01/2008, -0/+5WTF! How is it that the actual middle America portion of the country didn't make it into the list.
There's a ton of great food out here. - chompapotamus, on 07/01/2008, -3/+8where the hell is kansas and missouri!!!?
- CityFarmer, on 07/01/2008, -0/+5And Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, Oklahoma, and Mississippi ... I think they need better map makers.
- kaplanfx, on 07/01/2008, -1/+5No Spam?
- inactive, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4no brat? wtf?
- basiclegit, on 07/01/2008, -2/+6Am I the only one who thinks it's funny that this is in Mens Health?
- inactive, on 07/01/2008, -1/+5My arteries clogged after just reading that description.
- OldSchmitty81, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4Oh man, Beau Joe's should be #1, I love that place.
- davidg11, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4I agree. I'm originally from Rochester, now in WA, and man do I miss Nick's!
Have to bury this story by not mentioning Nicks! - inactive, on 07/01/2008, -1/+5seriously, waldorf salad makes the list? wtf, how much does that cost, probably like $15-20.
I can give you 20 awesome places in queens alone - kidathinnes, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4Yes it should have been on there. Cincinnati Chili is a midwest staple. I want some Skyline!
- nsummy, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4Everyone knows Men's Health is THE authority on food across the US. /sarcasm Their fitness articles are terrible, I don't know why you would trust them for anything else.
- tonytheshoes, on 07/01/2008, -3/+7Thank god they didn't pick Geno's or Pat's for cheesesteak in Philly. Total tourist trap garbage. Dalessandro's isn't my first choice, either, but miles above that other crap...
- shutaro, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4*BZZZT* Wrong, it's Australia.
- Spartyon, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4hell yes! you must know bernie
- Discola, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4Gah, being from Cincinnati I can't believe there is no LaRosa's Pizza, Skyline Chili, OR Graeter's Ice Cream! all very great, all from Cincinnati! Now I want some Skyline...
- masterm1nd, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4/added to Digg's 59 snobbiest users list.
- crakkajakka15, on 07/01/2008, -0/+4Dugg for Dogfish Head Beer in Delaware
- ell0bo, on 07/01/2008, -1/+5Pats or Tony Lukes myself. The best though are always those hole in the wall places you go to and can barely understand what they're saying to you. Where I grew up, I only went to the places where I couldn't easily order, because their food was always the best. I did however often have to go in person instead of calling over the phone, because sometimes I needed gestures to help out. Now that I'm not 12 I'm much better at understanding dialects, but I still believe if someone speaks English as their first language they prolly shouldn't me making me a pizza, sub, or steak.
- ChzPlz, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3What about debris sandwiches from Mother's?
- xtal3, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3Dugg because I now know of a secret plan to nuke my home state of MN. It was covered by a cup in the map and on zoom-in, it is lurking out in "HERE THERE BE MONSTERS"
Minnesota's gonna be waiting with a gun and a pack of sandwiches, you jerks >:( - crakkajakka15, on 07/01/2008, -0/+3G&M crabcake FTW
- austin63, on 07/01/2008, -1/+4"Ed Mitchell, the pope of pork in these parts" - Oh well he must be the expert. Thanks for letting us know he is reputable.
