Advertised vs Reality or What you See and What you Eat PICS
weightwatchers-diets.blogspot.… — Each item was purchased, taken home, and photographed immediately. Nothing was tampered with, run over by a car, or anything of the sort. It is an accuraterepresentation in every case.

- sagenhoney, on 05/16/2008, -0/+6Well...I think in most cases in regards to the photography, most of the food....is not food. Like I know when it comes to ice cream, they actually use shortening ...because the lights would just melt the ice cream immediately.
- VegaObscura3, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1I always thought it was mashed potatoes they used.
- Hatious, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1In regards to the photography, I agree that some of the food pictured isn't likely to be food -- regardless of whether or not what you see is what you get, they might be using a variety of materials in order to make the food more presentable.
What is really at issue here is that what you're getting isn't really food, either. It is food-like substances masquerading as actual food.
- intilli4, on 05/16/2008, -1/+2I think it is a bad case of False Advertisment
- whitezombie420, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2really? if its false advertising how come you get everything you see in the picture when you order at the restaurant? i think perhaps you should find out what false advertising actually means before you use the term.
- Divals, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1Take a look at the Nachos Bellgrande. On the official one, see those green onions? Yeah. Nachos Bellgrande doesn't come with green onions anymore, for some reason.
Also the 7-layers used to be twice as big and cost half as much. Ah, those were the good ol' days.

- badwithcomputer, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4[William "D-FENS" Foster picks up the flat hamburger he just ordered, comparing it to the picture behind the counter]
Bill Foster: Can anybody tell me what's wrong with this picture? - whitezombie420, on 05/16/2008, -0/+3so when you go to a fast food place you expect the food to be served with perfect presentation? its FAST food, made by some kid in a rush to get his ***** done hoping he can leave early to go smoke bud with his friends. did you think advertising firms were going to run down to the mcdonalds on the corner and grab a burger for their ads? no, they are going to make something that looks good for the cameras.
- str3ama, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Wendy's Chicken Club was the worst, looks like ooze dripping out of it.
- amanilaenvelope, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1It looked like a bukkake burger to me.
- Shadowdev, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1I try to avoid looking at my food at those types of places for that very reason... That almost enough to make me think about stop eating fast food. (But its just so darn convenient and yummy :-( ).
- Barman, on 05/16/2008, -0/+4It's that melted cheese ruining everything!
btw, this post made me wicked hungry - whasianrockstar, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1Funny, kinda like when you see models and actors in real life sans makeup.
- bicyclethief, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1flaccid Arby's FTW
- GhostWithToast, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1It all feels the same once it's inside of you: Horrible.
- 0akley, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1Burger King Enormous Omelet Sandwich - wtf is that? eww
- NGliam, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1I work at a McDonalds and all this is so true, the actual burgers are nothing like what advertised. In reality I take about 15 seconds to do a mcchicken sandwich (shoot sauce at bun, hope it lands where i want it to, throw lettuce) and burgers are done in 8s which is basiaclly a mad rush to use mustard ketchup onions pickle and then cheese in under 50 seconds =o
- geraldwhite, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1It's interesting to note that they have to by law use real food in these ads, if it pertains to the product they are selling. They also cannot manipulate the food to act in a way that it would not act in real life. For example Cheerios used to put metal nuts at the bottom of the milk to make all the cheerios float to the top in the ad, this is no longer acceptable. Coke and Pepsi have to use real Coke or Pepsi but they can make fake ice (resin) because they are not advertising the ice cubes but the drink it self.
When you see an ad for a TV dinner they will open thousands of TV dinners and hand pick everything to make one TV dinner for the ad. Imagine having a job where you have to hand pick each piece of corn one by one for the perfect TV dinner.
