- Mechmuertos, on 03/20/2008, -5/+141I am confused. Is this 20 worst foods or the 20 best foods?
- piratearggghhh, on 03/20/2008, -0/+83The secret is to have a diet soda with that food.
- Jade456, on 03/20/2008, -5/+59Odds are, if it tastes good, it's bad for you.
- DMTZ, on 03/20/2008, -2/+48I just found the next 20 things i am going to eat.
- bobmagoo, on 03/20/2008, -3/+41*last* 20 things
- po43292, on 03/20/2008, -1/+34You eat pieces of ***** for breakfast?
- therealkdog, on 03/20/2008, -3/+31This makes me want some bacon, wrapped with bacon, deep fried in bacon grease, and sprinkled with some bacon bits.
Oh with a side of bacon.
Which reminds me, Why havent i seen Bacon Beer? - solidhayter, on 03/20/2008, -1/+28I like how they tried to make the pictures of the food as unappetizing as possible. I can't blame them, that was the point, obviously.
I eat all of those foods quite frequently, but I consider myself in decent shape. A sedentary lifestyle will do worse for you than the food you eat. - po43292, on 03/20/2008, -5/+30We're not all fat. And I believe a lot of these chains exist in other countries as well.
- bubbapook, on 03/20/2008, -7/+30This was dugg literally no more than a couple of weeks ago
- inactive, on 03/20/2008, -0/+22Odds are, if its bigger than your head its not meant for a single person to eat.
- inactive, on 03/20/2008, -0/+16We're not fat, we're just big-boned.
- TheSum, on 03/20/2008, -20/+34Holy *****! no wonder americans are so ***** fat.
- Coffeedemon, on 03/20/2008, -2/+15A lot of those looked really good - even if you could get 2-3 days worth of sodium out of that pizza.
- achoi, on 03/20/2008, -1/+12"There are no bad foods, only bad food habits. I eat cream, butter, and bacon; I just don't eat pounds of it at a time. I use these things when they are needed in recipes and leave them out when they're not needed. As for substitutes, I only agree with them if they really don't change a person's response to a dish. Take mashed potatoes for instance. I recently saw a recipe that suggested that the fat we all know that mashers need could be replaced with vegetable broth. Hogwash. All that does is lead to dissatisfaction and I think that dissatisfaction results in overeating. We like fats because fats satisfy. They break down in the digestive track very slowly so they keep us fuller longer. Now if I find a way to replace a fatty ingredient without missing it (I do this a lot with yogurt) then you bet I'm going to do it. But I repeat: there are no bad foods"
- alton brown - GAARGLOX, on 03/20/2008, -0/+11"Bacon up that sausage, boy!"
- WoollyMittens, on 03/20/2008, -3/+13A slideshow with poorly ripped images from other sites in rancid jpeg format is a poor way of expressing yourself.
- AtomicTheory, on 03/20/2008, -1/+11Good question. I'm having a very hard time believing some of those numbers. Also, the fact that the pics look like they were taken by my 1998 640x480 digital camera makes me even more incredulous.
- brokenspatula, on 03/20/2008, -4/+14That chipotle burrito is in fact healthy for you. It is high in calories but low in fats. High in salt, but that does not make it unhealthy. You can eat half of it, and save the rest for later.
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 03/20/2008, -1/+10I was wondering too. Are they talking the Uno's personal pan pizzas or the full size pizza that's meant for 6? Even that pizza for 1 I can't have more than 2 slices without feeling full.
- sarixe, on 03/20/2008, -1/+9sweet, p.f. chang's got knocked
- LeRenard, on 03/20/2008, -0/+8Because it's from "Outback", The "Aussie" themed chain restaurant that likes to pretend its something exotic while it serves all the same crap all the other chain restaurants do.. except they call it "Alice Springs Chicken" and "Perth Burgers". Everything has a kangaroo on it. It represents Aussie cuisine about as much as Paul Hogan represented a real bushman. Also, Americans don't know much about Australia so they probably think it's all like that. It's not a strictly American phenomena, though, I went to some ghastly "American" restaurants the last time I was in France where I couldn't recognize a single dish.
- triskele, on 03/20/2008, -0/+8In a bacon cup?
http://www.notmartha.org/archives/2008/02/27/bacon ... - inactive, on 03/20/2008, -1/+8Best, hands down.
- FlagrantDrugUse, on 03/20/2008, -1/+8People insist on gorging themselves because we evolved to be that way. If our ancestors didn't eat as many calories as they could all the time, we wouldn't have made it this far as a species. The thing is, evolution also gave us the ability to think, which is sadly lost of many people, so they don't think to stop eating. I'm not advocating eating huge amounts of high calorie food all the time, but i do understand why people end up stuffing a glut of pork down their gullet.
- davidlow, on 03/20/2008, -6/+13Bogus list. It assumes that everyone is trying to lose weight. In fact there's nothing intrinsically unhealthy about fat, carbohydrates or calories. They keep us alive!
If you're underweight, then the worst food for you would probably be celery. Go order the cheese fries. - dpcamp, on 03/20/2008, -2/+9was i the only one a little surprised by the chipotle burrito?
- aussieNickuss, on 03/20/2008, -0/+7Didn't he wrap it with a slice of raw bacon?
- isunktheship, on 03/20/2008, -2/+9NO!... uh...
- AngelaQ, on 03/20/2008, -2/+9Low in fat does not make something "good". It's the calories you take in that make you fat, and that's astronomical, like all the other meals on the list.
- LeRenard, on 03/20/2008, -0/+6I couldn't help but notice how often "Ranch" appeared in that list..
- Teanuh, on 03/20/2008, -1/+7I think it is more than just the prepared meals. I think its how the ingredients are processed in the first place. I just spent two weeks in Peru and ate like a pig. Everything: steak, chicken, fried fish, tons of rice, sushi buffet... you name it. All really, really tasty food. I thought I was going to come back home 200lbs heavier but to my surprise, I lost weight. I don't know what it is about American food that even the healthy foods aren't really healthy.
- moletimer, on 03/20/2008, -1/+7Wouldn't it get kind of boring after a while?
- jcaino, on 03/20/2008, -0/+6The cake is a lie...
- bertbarndoor, on 03/20/2008, -2/+7I live in Canada, about 30 minutes from the border. Literally, all you have to do is drive across and go to a mall. The difference hits you in the face, (sometimes literally if you get too close). Americans have a weight problem. I think it is a culture thing and a socioeconomic thing. Americans have more of a division between the classes. It is cheaper to eat fast food. I also think education has something to do with it. Anyhow, this isn't an insult towards Americans, I'm just saying, although other countries DO have fast food, and obesity is on the rise in those countries as well, you guys really do take the cake...so to speak. 2000 calories a day and 50g of fat max for a 6foot average guy. Run hard for 30 minutes, sweat, and you burn about 300 calories. (1 subway cookie). Do the math folks...
- po43292, on 03/20/2008, -2/+7Was that amount in *1* slice?
- elshizzo, on 03/20/2008, -0/+5A lot of the food's listed were ones that were just high in calories. Just eat half, and save the rest for your next meal. That's called VALUE
- Sucka27, on 03/20/2008, -6/+11That T-bone steak doesn't have that much fat. It is tenderloin on one side, which is the leanest cut you can get and NY strip on the other which is almost as lean, and I don't see any sauce unless they soak it in a 5 gallon bucket of butter, which they might.
As for the other stuff, take the same photographer and tell him to make the same dish look apetizing and he'd do it no problem. Men's health is a suck magazine made for rockhead ***** too stupid to know any better. - jcaino, on 03/20/2008, -1/+6Yea..all that stuff from Chilli's? Most awesome stuff ever.
- malchihi, on 03/20/2008, -2/+7You do realize that consuming one of those dishes will add up to over your daily caloric allowance? Have fun walking a couple hundred miles to burn that off.
- Pexeter, on 03/20/2008, -3/+8200g of fat for cheese fries, nasty. And you know you eat the whole thing.
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 03/20/2008, -0/+5"But my heart hurts!"
- jcaino, on 03/20/2008, -0/+5Guacamole one day, sour cream the next...you can get crazy man!
- ghunt, on 03/20/2008, -0/+5walking will do nothing for the 4,000mg of sodium you are ingesting in one meal.
- gbro, on 03/20/2008, -0/+5I will.
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 03/20/2008, -0/+4Broaden your horizons. You're stuck in a rut seeking the "troof"
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 03/20/2008, -0/+4If we didn't bomb them for Yahoo Serious, we won't do anything now...
- marxfriedrice, on 03/20/2008, -0/+420 worst food pictures in america
- FlagrantDrugUse, on 03/20/2008, -0/+4I'm not a doctor or anything, but I think it would. Sweating uses up some sodium doesn't it? Mind you, walking shouldn't make you sweat buckets, but if you're walking at a brisk pace for the purpose of fitness, you'll be sweating.
In any case, 4g of sodium in one meal sounds like suicide. - qwertycopter, on 03/20/2008, -0/+4Godamnit I was hoping for the largest list of Rickrolls (ever).
