- groovystratman, on 03/03/2009, -2/+72What a confusingly busy webpage. Obviously designed to boost 'hits'. There's no need to click a bunch of links to read a paragraph of non-news. You guys need new website designers. And new staff of writers, if you actually staff writers.
- FoxtrotYankee, on 03/03/2009, -1/+58Yawn. Most of these are about how the food they sell is high-calorie or unhealthy.
Cold Stone ice cream is high in calories! Shocker!
Buried for boring. - meean, on 03/04/2009, -0/+39I was expecting cool ***** like "McDonald's doesn't want you t know ... 3 out of 4 workers have confessed to having pissed in the food before." not some ***** about calories!
- inactive, on 03/04/2009, -1/+25and 1 secret Mens Health doesn't want us to know, that non-story is a poorly veiled attempt to sell that book series.
- inactive, on 03/04/2009, -3/+26Insider tip: They charge you a lot more than what the food actually costs.
- DirtyVicar, on 03/04/2009, -0/+19We need SIXTEEN pages for sixteen paragraphs? Their Dunkin Donuts page only has 34 words of content. I'm betting their website has about 520 pages and 2,000 words total.
- Hamakuas, on 03/04/2009, -1/+20Buried for horrible and probably marketed attempt to use Digg as a hit generator. Lifeless convoluted "buy my book on how to make money" which inside reads: "sell books about how to make money".
This feels like the internet marketing equivalent of a virgin at prom. The late 90's called, they are missing part of their internet bubble. - upick, on 03/03/2009, -2/+19You are right, I'm officially never subbing from Mens Health again hope no one else does until the clean up the pages, and at least put some photos for God's sake it looks so boring.
I am sick of the way the layout the pages, was not going to sub this but thought it was still a good read. My apologies - 2of8, on 03/04/2009, -0/+15Wow, awful article. Also, from Quiznos (my favourite fast food place)
"all "regular"-sized subs with cheese and dressing have over 540 calories"
<stuff>
"A reasonable sandwich shouldn’t pack more than 500 calories."
WOW, 40 ***** CALORIES. START THE ***** CORONARY BYPASS. - lowtolerance, on 03/04/2009, -2/+13Yes, restaurants are bad for you and are expensive. This is stupid.
- AZBioDsl, on 03/04/2009, -0/+8thought it was gonna be about bad restaurant practices...i speak from experience, its not restaurants you need to worry about, its the catering companies ;)
- meed, on 03/04/2009, -3/+11I am ***** tired of people getting all high and mighty about how much of the foods in restartaunts are full of fat, cholesterol, and etc.
You know what? Fat tastes good, and restaurants are in the business of selling food that tastes good.
"omg you don't have nutritional information!", you know what, you really can't factor out how much the fat/carb contents of most foods exactly. Portions tend to vary slightly as well as some of the ingredient amounts and ingredient qualities too. Cooking isn't a exact science (unless your baking bread)
Calories Calories Calories! Go eat some ***** saw dust instead of real food. Our bodies need Calories, it literately is what fuels your heart, lungs, legs, and etc. The real issue isn't that something has too many calories, but instead it is controlling what you eat, and eating smaller portions. Just because there are inactive fatties out there doesn't mean that the active people who do need to consume these mass ammounts of calories to be able to fuel their bodies don't exist.
Stop complaining about fatty salads too, salads in all honesty weren't invented to be low fat/carb/protein. My view of a salad is that something is mixed up with a dressing. It is our failed education system that has lead our society to believe that they are meant to be rabbit food. I like to think of it as a way of eating a lot of raw veggies, but that doesn't mean you can't put a protein onto it like sliced steak or chicken, add some cheese, and some fatty croutons too.
How about this, instead of complaining about various places that don't live up to your limited view of nutrition. How about telling people what is good to eat, where is it is good to eat it from, and what to avoid. For example,"fried foods are full of fat don't eat them very often, but if you do want to eat fried food, these places don't use saturated fat or Hydrogenated/partially hydrogenated oils to fry their foods" Instead of trying to force restaurants to conform to your notion of nutrition, tell people to watch what the ingredients are in their foods they are ordering.
That brings me to the last part, the only valid complaint on this list as I see is the hydrogenated fat, Partially hydrogenated fat still is hydrogenated to a point, meaning it is still bad for you in a very bad way. - holmcross, on 03/04/2009, -0/+7I think the only thing I've gained from Digg is the wisdom to ignore links from menshealth.com.
- fsufanizzle, on 03/04/2009, -0/+6Lame, an ad for an equally lame book disquised as a bunch of boring nutritional information. Honestly....Digg, what's happening to you?
- ajUCI, on 03/04/2009, -0/+6Newsflash: Fast food is unhealthy!
- davidjunit, on 03/04/2009, -1/+6Men's Health magazine and they're whining about calories? Are women writing this crap?
- dhughes, on 03/04/2009, -1/+6> Also they have to put "anti gagging agent" in the food so you will be able to keep it down.
I doubt that. - flibbert1, on 03/04/2009, -0/+5I hate clicking so much
- imacmike, on 03/04/2009, -0/+4I am suddenly hungry for an Oreo shake.
- kalvinb, on 03/04/2009, -0/+4Considering the restraunts are pretty upfront about not giving out nutritional information they really didn't expose much.
Fast food chains are the best about it because people zeroed in on that industry since people typically go there. It's not uncommon to get fast food on a regular basis. Since I get fast food once a week or more I care if I'm getting something at least moderatly healthy. A grilled chicken snack wrap and a side salad is actually pretty cheap and low in fat and calories.
Sit down restaurants are not frequented nearly as much by people and since it's a treat people don't really care about the nutritional value. I'm not going to for example Applebee's for a nice nutritional meal. I'm going there because it's a once in a while thing to do with friends and/or family. - inactive, on 03/04/2009, -0/+4NONE OF THOSE WERE SECRETS
I couldve found all that out myself in nutrition information if I actually cared. - vidaliasweet, on 03/04/2009, -0/+4I thought it was gonna be fun stuff, like that dunkin donuts have propelyne glycol in them which is the same ingredient in antifreeze. I want to hear about the mercury in high fructose corn syrup. Give me my formaldehyde and melamine scandals dammit, I already know that the stuff on this list is gonna make my ass fat.
- MrOmniscient, on 03/04/2009, -0/+4The Cheesecake Factory doesn’t want you to know... that cheesecake isn't health food.
Jesus Christ! If you really need this kind of info, you may be too stupid to live. - FelixDrylock, on 03/04/2009, -0/+4I found most of these pretty boring and common sense, but what got me was the IHOP one. I had to go on IHOPs website to make sure. I can't believe they would post that on their FAQ and answer the question with a non-answer. Do you have nutritional info? it's a yes or no question. If yes, post the nutritional info. If no, don't post that question on the FAQs. It's your website. It's not a blog. You have editorial control. I know IHOP isn't healthy, and if you eat there, you're probably not worried about your calorie count for that day, so it's probably not in their best interest to post nutritional info. But by posting the question, and answering a different question, you are insulting your patrons' intelligence.
- inactive, on 03/04/2009, -1/+4Sbarro's ***** sucks.
- Ryan1249, on 03/04/2009, -0/+3I'm so tired of the food police. Everyone knows if you buy a salad weighing a kilo, loaded with a cup of blue cheese dressing, bacon, cheese and whatever else it isn't low fat or low calorie. You want to eat it, great you want to be healthy even better. But leave me alone and let me decide without trying to get rid of my choices on restaurant menu's because you don't like them.
- orlyfactor, on 03/04/2009, -0/+3You call those places "restaurants"?
- monkeyhoward, on 03/04/2009, -5/+8What Men's Health doesn't want you to know......
That they are a bunch of health food Nazi douchbags!!!
Who ***** died and made you ***** the god damn health police?
If I want to eat a god damn 2,600 calorie, Chocolate Oreo Shake with 135 grams of fat and 263 grams of sugar that's no one's ***** business but mine and Baskin-Robbins.
SUCK MY DICK!!!! - Tarokun, on 03/04/2009, -1/+3WHOOOOOOOSH!
- andreo, on 03/04/2009, -0/+2The Cheesecake Factory. They don't have to give me nutritional info for the cheesecake. I'm not shelling out 6 bucks a slice even if it was negative calories.
- jshhmr, on 03/04/2009, -0/+2By the title of the article, I thought I was going to read "Olive Garden not really Italian food"
- ImYourRealDad, on 03/04/2009, -0/+2I always order extra MSG.
- inactive, on 03/04/2009, -0/+2on the left hand side (the big red box) of this stupid site.
- ureshiidesuka, on 03/04/2009, -0/+2too many ads and clicking through each freaking page. i dont care about what they dont want me to know anymore
- astrotrain, on 03/04/2009, -0/+2Starbucks biggest secret, they over charge you for a cup of coffee. That's why a load of them are closing up shop... people took the 'red' pill and saw they were paying too much for their coffee.
- ChelseaBlacker, on 03/04/2009, -0/+2I wonder where they bought their diggs...
- dhughes, on 03/04/2009, -0/+2 So is ice cream if you eat it everyday.
- psykiv, on 03/04/2009, -0/+2I only dugg it for actually recommending the cheesy double beef burrito. At only 89 cents, why not just order 3?
- freeridstylee, on 03/04/2009, -0/+2It's good exercise, how else are you going to burn off all that mcdonalds?
- xero9, on 03/04/2009, -0/+2Seriously..
Logged in just to bury this crap - aduzik, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1Meh, there were plenty of pictures of hot men with tight abs. That was fine by me.
- stevelawrence, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1Buried for "Baskin-Robins doesn't want you to know that it still sells the Chocolate Oreo Shake". Of course it wants me to ***** know! It wants me to ***** buy it! Conspiracy theorist *****!!!
- Bamboolemur, on 03/04/2009, -0/+1Buried for inaccurate, sensationalist title. And for getting it wrong on Subway.
- petebot, on 03/04/2009, -0/+1Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares was more informative on this topic than this piece of crap "article." That show makes me scared to eat paces after seeing dirty kitchens and "chefs" microwaving frozen crap.
- Virgule, on 03/04/2009, -0/+1Most "restaurants" are, in fact, little more than an assembly line.
- Ismith988, on 03/04/2009, -3/+418. We don't wash our hands.
- marvinvenis, on 03/04/2009, -0/+1What really Taco Bell doesn't want you to know: testing indicates all their food leads to bouts of vicious diarrhea.
- kimonokiller, on 03/03/2009, -4/+5#17 - To remain profitable, remove staff hairs deriving from the pubic region from all food and beverages.
- astrotrain, on 03/04/2009, -0/+1Too many McSecrets at McDonald's to fit on a web page, maybe even on their server.
- Edwart, on 03/04/2009, -0/+1meh.buried. Everyone knows there's crap on the menu at every restaurant.

What is Digg?
