10 Things NOT to Talk About at a Dinner Party
divinecaroline.com — A party is where people go to have fun and enjoy themselves, and there are some topics of conversation that ’ll just never accomplish that goal. And though cool broads know how to keep the conversation interesting and fun, they also knows what topics to avoid.

- tanady2, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2Great sharing.. I don't really notice about this.. politics, religion, etc.. :)
- LeeKrieger, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2OK OK I get it don't bring up subjects that can cause an argument or put people off. Seriously though the fun flip side is to as the author says "be perceptive and take cues from those around you."
So if I follow the rules and don't force a political discussion, brag about my raise (unemployed so??), the wondermant of junior graduating callege at age 4 (yeah don't have kids either), etc. I can still talk about the hot hostest with the mostest. Do you think the author, Coolbroad, left this one off on purpose?
- HenryBored, on 05/09/2008, -0/+5don't talk about death... if you ignore it, you're safe from it.
- RealmDown, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1A hit. You have SUCK my battleSHIP.

Divine Caroline... please... - chris9902, on 05/09/2008, -0/+4Wow so nothing about your kids, life, job, beliefs, pets or anyone you know.
so basically just sit in silence.- Janiswhistle, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2That way you can really focus on the food and the weather
- RealmDown, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Oh yeah that's safe. Hey, did you hear about the 5 billion dollar sexual harassment lawsuit between co-anchors for "would you lick my swizzle stick?" Stormy weather!
What pick up line do you think would have worked better ?

- Rotzooi, on 05/09/2008, -6/+1"Divine Caroline", every days a few popular articles on Digg. Why? I found out - DC is catering to the Digg demographic:
" 'Caroline' rhymes with Divine - a word that describes every single woman we know who's working to compose a life. So we went with it. But the site isn't about any "one" woman. It's about every woman and the bonds that connect us even though we've never met." - ThinkBox, on 05/09/2008, -0/+3This is a great way to be proper... or, ya know, a robot of society.
- chrisfarley, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2The silence at the table is getting awkward.
- RealmDown, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Thank goodness for long table cloths.
- RealmDown, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Thank goodness for long table cloths.
- alukima, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2Some of the items are just common sense. When people talk endlessly about their spawn or "expensive" material objects they sound self absorbed. Some of the other items where just common sense things....
But I think they have disqualified every topic I can remember having a fun and lively discussion about.
Except for sex... and video games...
Note to self, next dinner party with the other Church women talk about nothing except Sex, VGs and the Weather.- RealmDown, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1News flash, most people ARE self absorbed. Not that that is really any surprise.
Seriously, IMHO, The best way to have a conversation is to listen FIRST. It rarely fails.

- mayavada, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2I don't think I would want to be at this dinner party. My ideal dinner party would have Dorothy Parker, Oscar Wilde, Mark Twain, and Jon Stewart eating pot brownies and making snide observations about all these verboten topics.
- DietMountainDew, on 05/09/2008, -4/+1Really? Is it that hard to put this on one page?
