- AmyVernon, on 07/30/2008, -0/+13wow! i can't believe he didn't break his neck!
- inactive, on 07/30/2008, -0/+11I love the XGames, you always see the best stuff there!
- UniqueJewelry, on 07/30/2008, -4/+15There are many places in the world where youtube is censored, Turkey is one of them.
- inactive, on 07/30/2008, -1/+12Wow Jake that was a crazy slam tie your shoes on tighter this year buddy!
- bixby1, on 07/31/2008, -0/+8That thing still blows my mind.
- mikek814, on 07/30/2008, -2/+10Watch out Danny Way, Jake is coming for your crown this year!
- inactive, on 07/31/2008, -0/+7just awesome!! really
- irfanmp, on 07/31/2008, -0/+7Man, I can't wait to watch the mega ramp stuff on TV. Danny Way is going to win again for sure!
- Crioca, on 07/31/2008, -0/+7Jake is built aussie tough
- shibbz, on 07/31/2008, -0/+7A link to the television broadcast...a much better video of the slam.

"....can't believe he landed that 540." - inactive, on 07/31/2008, -0/+6I remember watching this live. It was the same night they got that chump from Michigan to attempt the double backflip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0HACRg0JAE - inactive, on 07/31/2008, -3/+8I did a quarter with a pipe once...
- Craftybadger, on 07/31/2008, -0/+5"His SHOES popped off!"
- schmitey, on 07/31/2008, -0/+4Been watching reruns on ESPN2 lately. That slam scarred the crap out of Tony Hawk and the other hosts...they honestly couldn't believe he got right back up. Man's like Wolverine or something and unbreakable.
- inactive, on 07/31/2008, -0/+3 Yea I remember seeing that guy do the backflip for the first time as well what was his name again?
- inactive, on 07/31/2008, -1/+4I think youtube is banned in china as well.
- DirtySanch, on 07/31/2008, -0/+3Can't believe he got up after that. I expected a stretcher.
- ryansimbalist, on 07/31/2008, -1/+4You should move.
- inactive, on 07/31/2008, -0/+3I'm really glad he's ok, that was a nasty fall ..
- ethon, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2Travis Pastrana was the first guy to do it in competition. Scott Murrary has landed a few, and got in last years X-Games because he sent in a video of him riding out a double at his demo ramp at his home. He was pretty close to landing it; just didn't have enough rotation.
- inactive, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2Me and my brother-in-law bought tickets to every event in 2006. We saw Colin McRae roll his Subaru and take silver in rally car racing. We saw Bad Religion, Unwritten Law, and Buck-O-Nine perform. And we saw what was for me the most exciting moment in sports I every experienced in person: Travis Pastrana landing the double backflip.
If you live in the vicinity of Staples or the Home Depot Center, I highly recommend going to some events. - inactive, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2I don't think Danny Way has competed in Big Air for a couple years now.
PLG is the man to beat. - rockefeller2, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2I don't know what's worse, that slam or this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iq1z5yko5HI - somegezzer, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2Come on this has been dug to death. Bit of an easy one this, lets have something more original.
- hep2djive, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2Mega Freakin SLAM
- facelesscoward, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2It was a 720!
- inactive, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2Bob Burnquist won last year. Way didn't even compete. I don't think he's competing this year either.
- growlands, on 08/09/2008, -0/+1How did it take over 30 comments before someone mentioned the shoes!
- LeeDoyle, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1This was on Digg last week (Or 2) but had a better TV version.
- inactive, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1Did you hear what it was doing? The bike was still going on the ground, which is pretty dangerous. It only took the guy a few seconds to secure a bike.. so I don't think he really missed much in terms of that kid being injured.
- ryansimbalist, on 07/31/2008, -2/+3this is so old, I saw it like a year ago.
sarcasm - nickkkels, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1lol i seen this one and it's SO BAD, he is not having kids
- pitchblack16, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1takes guts to do that big air, id love to try it, even though i havent skate boarded since i was a kid.
- MechaFalcon, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1I love how the one guy runs out as if he's concerned about the guy who possibly just snapped his neck, but promptly turns his attention towards the bike.
- funkyjunk3, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1I honestly think its the shoes that saved him. They took the brunt of the slam, blunting the energy just enough to save him from snapping his ankles.
- fokov, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1Its called misdirection. Talk about the good thing to get people's minds off what just happened. I remember watching that live and the only thing going to my head was I hope he's alive. That was one of the single most sicking crashes I've seen in sports. The other thing that still makes me cringe is Zednick's throat being cut by a skate blade.
- danz32, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1narley is such a great word. Because regardless of if he were to land that trick and win a medal or pretty much die, you can still call it narley
- funkyjunk3, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1Keeping his shoes on would have transferred the initial shock through his ankles and the rest of his body. Its almost lucky he had kept his shoes loose...
- inactive, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1Eh he's in the television booth.. may as well give the guy a complement while he's down, to make him feel better.
- ritzcracker, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1gnarly*
couldn't help it. - nickkkels, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1when i was watching this, i just couldn't believe that someone could out-do last years slam, but this looks like it took the cake
- sockpuppets, on 07/31/2008, -4/+4Natural selection thwarted once again.
