- bubba9999, on 07/14/2008, -1/+16I did that once, but it wasn't on purpose.
- jklikesnews, on 07/14/2008, -2/+11Impressive, but that's a shady title. The 60' air is measured from the ground. Should've been measured from the lip of the ramp, that's how they've done it for ages. I think this comment on the video sums it up perfectly:
"Since when have we started measuring the height from the ground instead of the lip? WTF!!! I guess I will build a 60 qp and do a 1” air and they will have to call it 60’ 1”. I guess that’s what you get when you have an EXTREME DRINK getting involved." - nevaseez, on 07/14/2008, -3/+10What's with all the haters? that was still a sick jump.
- raintheory, on 07/14/2008, -1/+7i guess that height is from the ground and not the top of the ramp... kinda makes a difference
- LesPaul75, on 07/14/2008, -0/+6I noticed that comment also. I was thinking, hey, I live in Denver so I could just jump up and down in my living room and call it a 5283 foot vertical leap.
- pault107, on 07/14/2008, -0/+5And to think...I get nervous climbing up a 9 foot ladder.
- smilf, on 07/14/2008, -0/+5Yea.. Where did the dirt go?
:p - inactive, on 07/14/2008, -2/+7I could never do this, but I have one question/complaint: Why does the top of the ramp count in the jump? The ruler starts at 29'. Thats like standing on top of a 20 story building and jumping up in the air, then saying, "I jumped up 20 stories!" I don't mean to sound like a hater, but shouldn't the jump begin the moment both wheels leave the ramp, not where the ramp begins? If this is how it is, Evil Kneivel could add the ramp lengths in the distance of his jumps.
- JKAL, on 07/15/2008, -0/+4maybe it is because he "does not care about record breaking" but "likes to do something that no one has done before", WTF?
- Enron, on 07/14/2008, -1/+5Red Bull gives you wings
- shuskins, on 07/14/2008, -3/+7i went.... it was actually pretty lame... the helicopter stunts and plane they had flying around was much cooler
- schneb, on 07/14/2008, -0/+3That's what I thought. Why not have a 60' ramp and beat this record?
- inactive, on 07/14/2008, -0/+2took the words out of my mouth.
- charlie55, on 07/14/2008, -3/+5what kind of world is this where we are not impressed by a guy jumping 59 feet in the air on a dirtbike? that is ***** awesome.
- dougvfr750, on 07/14/2008, -1/+3All I can say is he's got big brass ones
- SilentRamble42, on 07/14/2008, -1/+3I don't know why, but I was expecting a step-up type event. Now that would've been impressive.
- crossmr, on 07/15/2008, -0/+2you see this 59'2" the ' means "foot" or "feet" as is grammatically correct. You don't need to add the word "feet" which in this case is grammatically incorrect.
- Gnar04, on 07/14/2008, -1/+3i cant wait to see what kind of tricks they will begin to pull off those quarterpipes, its gonna be insane.
- inactive, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1No, I can't, tha'ts why I started my comment with "I could never do this but" There is no rule that says you have to be able to do something to criticize it. Imagine you see a guy claim to run 100 mph. Your leg is broken so you can't run, but he gets on a bus traveling 99 mph and runs from the back of the bus to the front. Are you not allowed to call ***** on his fastest runner alive record because you can't run?
- borez, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Err, I was actually referring to shuskins comment.
- borez, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1Would have been nice to have heard the crowd as he did it.
- snowcrazy, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Guess they must Shred?
- badwithcomputer, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1I think the extreme videos section is just kinda sparse- I was wondering the same thing to be honest.
- MiIhouse, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1I like how that guy said something about once you do it once, don't push your luck etc.. even if someone says to you to do it again. Because I honestly follow that exact same rule. If you do it once and you do it clean, dont push your luck!
- JAGUART, on 07/14/2008, -1/+1Blah ba blah Red Bull blah blah ba blah
- igam93, on 07/15/2008, -0/+0Omg
- borez, on 07/14/2008, -2/+2And you could do better?
- Quilik, on 07/14/2008, -1/+1wow ive been outa the motox loop for awhile I guess...
- TwistyMcFister, on 07/14/2008, -4/+4How does Shredordie.com keep getting front page with 80 Diggs and 1 comment?
- MrSwap, on 07/15/2008, -2/+1Because if he misses the landing, that's how far he falls to the flat ground. He doesn't land at the top of the landing, he lands halfway down and that half is spent "landing" (he suspension doesn't decompress until he's on flat ground). A better analogy would be if you stood on top of a 20 stories building and jumped off you could say you jumped 20 stories, even though you only jumped 3 feet above your intial resting point. As far as length goes, the length of jumps are always measured peak to peak. Personally I think they should be measured from the peak of the take-off to halfway down the landing ramp where the rider is most likely to land.
- ciderax, on 07/14/2008, -3/+1hah awesome, I hope to achieve that some day.
- Ex3poo, on 07/14/2008, -5/+2Is that considered a backflip?
