- BugsSport, on 01/06/2009, -3/+38He made it a crater place to live.
- MattS, on 01/06/2009, -2/+31"...And what's this thing coming toward me very fast? So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like 'Ow', 'Ownge', 'Round', 'Ground'! That's it! Ground! Ha! I wonder if it'll be friends with me? Hello Ground!"
- dannyboy3020, on 01/06/2009, -0/+21I can't imagine the terror and hopelessness he felt as he fell to his death
- inactive, on 01/06/2009, -7/+28Stop digging the Daily Mail Scott.
- Redxd, on 01/06/2009, -2/+20He falls into histories books
- ilana, on 01/06/2009, -0/+16"Related by Keyword" is most certainly still in beta when the first story listed is "Coolest Slip and Slide Ever."
What an awful story. =( - Padijun, on 01/06/2009, -4/+19OH BOY, DAILY MAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT VICTORIA BECKHAM DID THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, power digger "ScottMcIntyre" for this worthless piece - bratterscain, on 01/06/2009, -0/+14Wow, now that's a sport with no strings attached.
- btschul, on 01/06/2009, -8/+2277 diggs and 1 comment and it hits the frontpage? Did the guy yell "***** george bush obama is awesome" as he was falling or something?
- TotalHalibut, on 01/06/2009, -1/+13Buried for the Daily Mail. Stop digging this horrible tabloid. They are responsible for misinforming the public about vaccinations, causing the death of children with their scaremongering, as well as numerous other borderline racist and xenophobic opinions. They are little more than Fox in print and should be buried on sight and driven off of Digg completely.
- codyjohnle, on 01/06/2009, -2/+14smashing good time was had by he,
- sparkplug890, on 01/06/2009, -3/+14Come on, guys, drop it.
- inactive, on 01/06/2009, -0/+10does anyone have a link to what Victoria Beckham did this week?
- mgrest, on 01/07/2009, -0/+8Sure, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-11050 ...
- SweetChinMusic, on 01/06/2009, -0/+7Nope.
- antonio97b, on 01/06/2009, -1/+8It probably felt something like terror and hopelessness
- fmaxwell, on 01/06/2009, -0/+7This is why I won't do any sport where I rely on someone else to keep me from dying. I won't skydive because I don't trust someone else to pack my chute and I don't know how to pack a chute. Bungee jumping? Yeah, like I want to trust some snot-nosed kid and a one-notch-removed-from-a-carney business owner with my life.
- Fuckmypooplease, on 01/06/2009, -2/+8Buried as inaccurate because it will most certainly have some slant to it, regardless of the story.
Get the Daily Mail off Digg.
I know they always have the interesting stories, but why do you think that is...?
Just look for the same story else where, Digg should not be supporting this xenophobic and practically racist tabloid paper in any way.
Get the Daily Fail off Digg! - Hetman, on 01/06/2009, -0/+6It all seems so fun. Paruchuting, hang gliding etc. And then you see a story like this and your like ahh nevermind.
- meatmcguffin, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5You obviously aren't British
- hauntedchippy, on 01/06/2009, -0/+5Daily Fail is for xenophobes.
- plaguepony, on 01/06/2009, -1/+5ROONNNNNNNNNNNNNNN PAAAAAUUUUUUUUUULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.......................
- mnemy, on 01/06/2009, -0/+4Man that sucks. Remind me not to go with the cheapest alternative when choosing extreme sports to do on vacations.
- inactive, on 01/06/2009, -0/+4video?
- TotalHalibut, on 01/07/2009, -1/+5Well that's rather hypocritical of you. 'You're trying to stifle freedom of speech! So I'll try and stifle yours by burying you!'. You can't have your cake and eat it. Digg has a bury function, which I use on a regular basis of bury terrible content, of which anything by the Daily Mail is guaranteed to be. They can't write worth a damn, and have an extreme right-wing bias that would make Hannity blush.
If you were British, you'd understand why we hate the Daily Mail, just as you hate Fox. - Twenty, on 01/07/2009, -0/+4Where is Bury - How the ***** is This on Digg
- DanBoodro, on 01/06/2009, -0/+4Not as good as the two above you, but I'll still digg you for the effort.
- fmaxwell, on 01/06/2009, -1/+4This is infuriating! Here I was all ready to complain loudly about how cliques are mass-Digging stories to the front page and then this shows up there with only a modest number of Diggs. There must be some kind of conspiracy theory we could all latch onto about this. Come on people, work with me!
- SoundJudgment, on 01/07/2009, -0/+3"Hey, F*ck you all! Two of my best friends died in a Paragliding acci----"
oh nevermind. - cowtipper179, on 01/06/2009, -0/+3Looks like he and his girlfriend had really fallen for each other in that pic.
- markus7353, on 01/06/2009, -2/+5I hope he rests in peace, I'm sure the instructor will never be, as he shouldn't be.
He didn't deserve it. - greenlight2001, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2Yeah, too soon I guess.
- goomba323, on 01/07/2009, -0/+2As someone who has skydived in the past, I can say that the scariest part wasn't the freefall, but when the guy attached to my back pulled the parachute. He then loosens the harness so we aren't spooning and with that he says "you're going to feel a little drop, don't panic".
THAT was the scariest part. And the fact that his parachute pulled AND THEN he fell just makes it all the more scarier. - Soval, on 01/06/2009, -1/+3Who deserves something like this anyway? And I would care more about his girl friend than the instructor.
- inactive, on 01/06/2009, -0/+2This is what I'm talking about. This guy dies and no one really gives a *****. You see some very morbid comments, which is what I like to see because that's how I deal with death, but let it be a celebrities kid and all of the sudden you can't make jokes without being chastised. All I'm saying is if you're going to care, care across the board and not when it's popular to.
- dvsbastard, on 01/06/2009, -0/+2Strangely enough, as far as parachuting goes, you are more likely to die on the drive to the drop zone, then you are during the jump... There are very few deaths in skydiving, except they tend to be more widely publicised when they do happen...
There is an interesting read on it here:
http://adventure.howstuffworks.com/skydiving8.htm - yeahhyeahyeah, on 01/06/2009, -0/+2hahah oh man, i hate reading stuff like this, i'm planning to go sky diving in the next few months. i mean it oughtn't scare me because i'm more likely to die of a car accident than of a parachute accident, but its scarier because its more dramatic...
- Fuckmypooplease, on 01/07/2009, -1/+2***** brilliant. ^
- greenlight2001, on 01/06/2009, -1/+2Too soon?
- rft3rd, on 01/06/2009, -3/+4More like FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
- andyd2k, on 01/07/2009, -0/+1I went hand gliding in Brazil in 07 and everything about it was questionable (like getting my license to hand glide in Brazil without any training etc). How I found the balls to go through with it was beyond me
Really sad - agbullet, on 01/07/2009, -1/+2urgh. the quality of humor in this place is plunging.
- thatonekid393, on 01/06/2009, -0/+1Jesus, what a way to go....
- fmaxwell, on 01/07/2009, -0/+1What kind of parties do you go to where a lapse of concentration by the host would leave you dead?
- coreyb, on 01/10/2009, -0/+1And after the funeral, his girlfriend fell head over heals in love with the sport.
- agbullet, on 01/07/2009, -1/+2You don't sound like you would be very fun at parties.
- codyjohnle, on 01/07/2009, -0/+1the paragliding company has a greatest hits album. it's just one track.
- fmaxwell, on 01/07/2009, -0/+1Driving on the roads is not a sport and neither is eating in restaurants.
But I rely on my ability to avoid other drivers. That's why I've got over 30 years of motorcycling experience and I'm not dead. As to eating in restaurants, people don't die from food poisoning. They get the runs. Big deal. That's a bit different than falling 5,000 with a parachute that doesn't open. - chaosevil, on 01/07/2009, -0/+1After the incident, his face was planted in to the local papers and news outlets.
