- cvanwage1, on 02/02/2009, -0/+17According to the contest rules, to qualify for the challenge "your testicles must be larger in overall volume than your brain"
- Tinja, on 02/02/2009, -1/+12Back in my day I had to run that race to school -- uphill both ways, in a blinding snowstorm, with a pack of wolves after me, wearing nothing by my long johns -- to start the wood stove and thaw out the ink wells. Kids these days don't know how good they have it.
- HalsMyPal, on 02/02/2009, -0/+8I think the iron man triathlon is the toughest race on earth

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4984737890 ... - mlavergn, on 02/03/2009, -0/+8You were lucky! Back in my day, I had to wake up 3 hours before I went to bed, eat rocks for breakfast, run that race to school on my hands, wearing only a handkerchief, with sharks swimming after me, build the school out of discarded popsicle sticks, then I had to set myself on fire to thaw out the ink wells, and I did it 8 days a week ... you try and tell the young people of today that ..... they won't believe you!
- hilomike, on 02/02/2009, -0/+7The UltraMan World Championship Triathlon is twice as long, spanned over three days, encircling the same island the IronMan World Championship is held, Big Island of Hawaii.
http://www.ultramanlive.com/ - saenmbateman, on 02/02/2009, -0/+5I'm normally not a violent person, but did anyone else want to punch the guy in the sponge bob tower walking over the fire?
Sponge bob guy: I'm rock hard, I can walk over fire just like every other person who's doing this race. - inactive, on 02/02/2009, -1/+5Too crowded. No thanks to crawling in the mud under barbed wires with my face in another guy's ass.
- AuburnTigers, on 02/03/2009, -0/+4I like how the guy talks to the camera and then totally shamelessly grabs the guy's ass in front of him at 2:58.
- WhiskeyThieves, on 02/02/2009, -1/+5This has nothing on how the military train, let alone the special forces.

Not necessarily the "toughest race on earth", but looks like a lot of fun! - immatellyouwhat, on 02/03/2009, -1/+5Why? Did your school move every day to a different location?
- AnthonyFTMFW, on 02/02/2009, -0/+3Captain Falcon does this gauntlet every morning before breakfast.
- HalsMyPal, on 02/02/2009, -1/+4well thats not exactly a race now is it?
- jimbo21, on 02/03/2009, -0/+2Found another video of it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKXKWBcaV3A - tgc1, on 02/03/2009, -0/+2I go for a walk everyday before breakfast. Not quite as impressive though.
- peoplerstoopid, on 02/03/2009, -1/+3The eco challenge and prima quest are both more gruelling than this, don't call yourself the toughest if you're not.
hell the last half of Marine Corps bootcamp made this pale in comparison.
Nice try guys.... - jcsoc, on 02/03/2009, -0/+2Has NOTHING on this http://www.alaskaultrasport.com/route_description. ...
- itlnstln, on 02/03/2009, -0/+2Must have been crowded on that course what with all the egos bumping into each other.

- thephysicist, on 02/03/2009, -1/+1Congrats to all the people who took part (I know a few University people who did - including two girls!) esp in the -7 degrees c conditions, but who also raised a lot of money for various charities.
- jcsoc, on 02/03/2009, -1/+1if you're into hallucinating athletes, check out this guy http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/05/sports/playmagaz ...
- chemunc, on 02/03/2009, -2/+2You say you've got the "safest most dangerous" race huh? This must be the worst most reliable news source.
- FlyingCaveman, on 02/03/2009, -1/+1That's not that tough. I've been on hash trails tougher than that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPQsg354Dew
If you want some serious cross country you might want to try this one. http://ws100.com/home.html - Halsfield, on 02/03/2009, -2/+1that looked stupid. what kind of idiot race has lines you have to stand in to wait for your turn to get through an obstacle?they used the excuse that its part of the race's endurance factor but thats just lazy organization. have them start in phases instead of just lining everyone up and telling them to go for it. surprised someone didnt get trampled to get in line before everyone else.
- Halsfield, on 02/03/2009, -3/+2neither was this, they were standing in lines. they took a navy seal/military style assault course, which isnt meant to be raced across because you could never have enough obstacles for everyone, and then have them all try to pile in and get in line . i didnt know part of being the toughest man on earth required standing in line while slower people than you go ahead of you. either start them in phases or take out the obstacle course.
- lorenzownz, on 02/03/2009, -2/+0Psh! You both had it easy, I had to do all this before I did my routines before breakfast, and I eat bowls of nails for breakfast! Without any milk!!!!!!!!!
- ahhell, on 02/03/2009, -4/+1OH MY GOD!!! NOT -7....That's like...gasp...below freezing!!!
Oh the humanity.
/wee touch 'o sarc. - Bakurax, on 02/02/2009, -12/+3Yea I beat my wife... so what? Least I'm 'tough'
