- GMorgan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not so much unsportsman like but violent. Unsportsmanlike play is cheating, unnecessarily violent play is something else. Of course the 2 can coincide.
Personally the most unsportsman like thing I ever saw was the infamous 'hand of Back' event during the Rugby Union Heiniken European Cup final a few years back. It was the last play and the Irish team Munster were a score behind but had a scrum 5 yards from the opposition (Leicester from England) line. It would either be an extrodinary defensive effort or a last gasp score that would decide the game making it truly famous.
Of course Back proceeded to illegally hit the ball out of the scrum halves hands while the referee was asleep resulting in an instant turn over and a clearance ending the game. What should have been the greatest final in the history of the game was ended by a blatent act of cheating and an anticlimax. Of course Back was never punished because to do so would make the referee look incompetant in perception as well as reality. - krazikamikaze, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Needs more headbutt.

Of course, the IRONY of this is great. ESPN's Sportcenter...the network and show that GLORIFIES unsportsmanlike conduct taking about how bad it is.
