- dialectical, on 01/14/2009, -1/+30Those were all great. But really, nothing beats Zab Judah. Still talking trash while being out on his feet.
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=co9RwBhMLeQ - borez, on 01/14/2009, -0/+19What the ***** was the referee thinking by letting that last fight carry on for so long?
- divinediva, on 01/14/2009, -0/+17I think the Dempsey-Willard fight is the most brutal fight in boxing history.
- CedarPark, on 01/14/2009, -0/+16Is it my imagination or was Tyson not in there anywhere? I
- jba68, on 01/14/2009, -0/+15Sad thing for those that don't remember his earlier career, he had the most vicious KO punch ever. It was lethal.
I think he wasnt' on there, because his fights never seemed to last that long. I remember getting a chance to actually watch one of his fights, and he KO'd the dude in 17 seconds. I was like wtf am I gonna do the rest of the night?!| - borez, on 01/14/2009, -0/+9How many replays
- inactive, on 01/14/2009, -0/+9POW! Right in the kisser!
- gl77, on 01/14/2009, -0/+8probably wanted to get the most out of the 48th round.
- futurepro9, on 01/14/2009, -0/+7Same guy made a top 10 video of Tyson, for those of you who wanted some Mike on that list.
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=e7wUOCADxq0 - Russelllucid, on 01/14/2009, -0/+7The list maker obviously never saw Lenny McLean VS Mad Gypsy Bradshaw http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=WnskujvT6wI
- RansomHoldiay, on 01/14/2009, -0/+6i like number 3. the guy turns to the ref and is like "do i keep going? i mean... i seriously kicking his ass."
- Waiting2awake, on 01/14/2009, -0/+6Johnson Vs Jeffries was a pretty brutal one as well. Before they had the Marquis of Queensbury rules fights would go on until someone couldn't fight on. No three knockdown rules or anything.
- FearisFailure, on 01/14/2009, -0/+6My head hurts after watching this.
- Waiting2awake, on 01/14/2009, -1/+710 - Johnson Vs ? (I have the fight at home too)
9 - David Tua Vs John Ruiz
8 - Razor Ruddock Vs Mick Dokes
7 - Chris Eubanks ? Vs ?
6 - Joe Louis Vs Max Shmeling(sp?) the second fight
5 - George Foreman Vs Joe Frazier The first fight
4 - Cooney Vs Ken Norton
3 - Bo Jack Vs Williams ? Never saw this fight before, can anyone give me info on it?
2- Morrison Vs Mercer
1 - Jack Dempsey Vs George Carpenter - Tr33fiddy, on 01/14/2009, -0/+6Yeah... no.
That was one decent punch and a young boxer who had never been down getting up too soon. Had Judah taken 5 or 6 he would have got back up and continued. Getting up straight away and doing the chicken dance however made it look like he was more hurt than he was (or rather, that he was unable to continue which for 2 or 3 seconds, it doesn't take long for your head to clear but it takes longer than that).
The Top 10 however are actual brutality - genuine damage caused - and I would say every single one would have been stopped long before were they faught with modern refereeing.
I shudder to think of the damage done to those people. - Waiting2awake, on 01/14/2009, -0/+5I don't think that guy knows the rules ? ? ?
- imightbewrong, on 01/14/2009, -0/+5Number 10 was the best, cause the guy gets leveled then stands up and drops the other guy in like 3 seconds
- DteK, on 01/14/2009, -0/+5sounds like the michael spinks fight. I remember his 1st round knockouts on PPV as well. You paid $60 and got all of your friends over, watched like 5 undercard fights then Tyson would be in the ring for 2 rounds max
- kalkin, on 01/14/2009, -1/+6you both get diggs from me for making me google your comments
- scleary1, on 01/14/2009, -1/+6The title should be "Top 10 Slowest Referees to call a fight ever".
- Waiting2awake, on 01/14/2009, -0/+5You mean like the Bruce Seldon match where he never even Hit Bruce yet caused him to drop like a rock?
- JigoroKano, on 01/14/2009, -0/+4Try reading
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkinson%27s_disease ... - cawpin, on 01/14/2009, -1/+5@Divinediva - Agreed, but I also thought that James Thunder should have been in there, at least an honorable mention, for his "fight" with Crawford Grimsley. I was watching it on TV with my dad when it happened. We both were wondering what the hell happened. This video is of the actual broadcast so you can understand our confusion with the first view of it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXydu2gWVmc - moduc, on 01/14/2009, -0/+4Many of the fights, the referee is the cause of the brutality. If the guy's hand are wide open, he appears not able to defends himself, stop the fight. If the guy can't even stand up, why let the other guy beat the heck out of him.
- jba68, on 01/14/2009, -1/+5I think its more like when Tyson went to Japan ate alot, trained little due to arrogance and got knocked the ***** out by Buster Douglas.
Sorry Republicans, Tyson never recovered, and neither will you - inactive, on 01/14/2009, -0/+3The fights when Cus was alive were real fights (and ***** good ones). Once Don King became his promoter then the flop fest began. Nonetheless, his opponents were still so scared of him they didn't want to wait to get hit and make it look real. They just fell to the mat and collected their loser's check.
- mathyou87, on 01/14/2009, -0/+3FINISH HIM!
- jjamminjon, on 01/14/2009, -1/+4Kool-Aide alert.
- Waiting2awake, on 01/14/2009, -0/+3That was Ruddock Vs Dokes. Insane and allowed Ruddock to get a qualifying match with Tyson, which he fought twice losing a TKO in the first fight and I think the distance in the next. He later fought Lewis and got KO's in the second round.
- Waiting2awake, on 01/14/2009, -0/+3It could be that, or it could be that he, like all other up and coming fighters, faced an awful lot of hand picked opponents. While never as obvious as the King crap, he was still carefully managed. Jacobs and Cuss both new how to handle champions.
Tyson was essentially a strong version of Floyd Patterson, almost the exact style. - RansomHoldiay, on 01/14/2009, -0/+3*I'm, but I is funny
- JigoroKano, on 01/14/2009, -0/+3IMO the worst KO's are those that end with the person stiff and seizing.
- Rainemaker, on 01/14/2009, -0/+3aka
Top Ten Most Brutal Knockouts Ever, Including Top 6 Most Negligent Refs.
Watching some of those clips, I found myself screaming, why the hell hasn't the ref stopped the fight yet?!?! Which is ironic, half the time a ref stops a fight these days, I'm screaming; why the hell did the ref stop the fight now?!?! - Waiting2awake, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2DTec - true. Little known fact that Micheal Spinks was literally crapping himself before the fight. That fight was a farce, as Spinks was really a light heavyweight and only become the lineal champion after "beating" larry Holmes twice in a decision that many think that Holmes actually won. In fact, I beleive the second loss hit Holmes so bad that he had his phrase that "the can kiss my black ass" on national TV..
- jason4188, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2I stand some what corrected on further investigation Ali does not have Parkinson's disease at all, he has Parkinson's syndrome and that is what around 15% of former boxers develop.
- dizzythegreat, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2...Ow
- Waiting2awake, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2He's an excitable fella ain't he?
- DeadFox1, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2"most brutal?" really??
- squ1sh, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2Yes, that Dempsey Roll at the beginning wrecked Willard. At the end of that fight, "Willard had a broken cheekbone, broken jaw, several teeth knocked out, partial hearing loss in one ear, and broken ribs." (from Wikipedia)
Watching that, I'm glad there are more rules that protect a boxer's life. A beating like that could easily kill a man. - jba68, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2I guess holmes didnt kiss the correct cheek of Don King's ass. Don King, the man who ruined Boxing
- shipwreck58, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2Body Blow! Body Blow! Uppercut! Put Em' Away!
- SangekiRein, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2# 7 was hilarious.
- adikt, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2The last match was not a boxing match at all. It was felony assault.
- jamdogg, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2Did I really have to scroll down this far to find a comment that mentioned Mike Tyson? He may have slipped off the rails but he was the closest thing to a KO specialist the world has ever seen.
- Waiting2awake, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2He was in the honourable mention koing some stiff as per his M.O
- wannarto, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2damn. they must have a super-nasty headache after waking up the next morning.
- latin69, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2Mayweather KO's Hatton.........

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Morrison - CedarPark, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2That was at the end of his career--he had lost the drive well before this.
