- djlethal, on 11/11/2009, -1/+102That's a pretty mild fall.
Let's not forget Jake Brown
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTeXKHkNqgk - captininsanity, on 11/11/2009, -1/+62After he let go of down C he didn't hold R long enough.
- thegamingguy, on 11/11/2009, -0/+60The announcer was kind of a dick. He could have at least done the standard "let's give Tony a hand", but instead he kind of chumps him out.
- saegiru, on 11/11/2009, -0/+56His special wasn't up yet... what was he thinking?
- Natealus, on 11/11/2009, -1/+38"... and thats why it does not happen every day."
- snowcrazy, on 11/11/2009, -1/+30Wait...so the Birdman is human?
- badwithcomputer, on 11/11/2009, -0/+28hey, tony hawk tweeted a link to this...just like he said he would on his digg dialogg! neat!
http://twitter.com/tonyhawk/status/5623965356 - SurrealDream, on 11/11/2009, -0/+27Holy. *****. Pants. His shoes came off...
- DHracer, on 11/11/2009, -0/+19Falls hard? Looked pretty smooth, as far as falls go in skateboarding.
- hanexar, on 11/11/2009, -0/+19I can feel the pain through the tube.
- GrampaNoOp, on 11/11/2009, -0/+18Made my hip hurt just watching the impact. A reminder of the reality of how friggin' non-trivial all those tricks are.
- brandonb, on 11/11/2009, -0/+14It started on the PlayStation.
- snowcrazy, on 11/11/2009, -0/+14You are talking about this one:

That's at a different event...the slam being dugg is from vegas, he landed the 900 in Beverly Hills. - jamaph, on 11/11/2009, -0/+14He really didn't fall that hard. You could tell by how he adjusts his weight to compensate for the incline of the ramp. Comparatively to how he's broken bones attempting this trick in the past, this was no big deal. Tony Hawk is a good sport though, and looked very classy standing up from that spill.
Haha dugg for the spirit of the announcer and Tony's work for charity. - luke16, on 11/11/2009, -0/+12well considering he's 41 years old. I still think that was amazing
- JustLetGo, on 11/11/2009, -1/+13That was falling hard? Really?
- Snoogs, on 11/11/2009, -0/+10@ 47 seconds for the best view... man that must have been brutal.
- MacBookForMe, on 11/11/2009, -1/+10Ouch...
- KingKeys, on 11/11/2009, -0/+9I remember seeing this when it happened, but never caught what his injuries were. Was he able to walk away from this?
- Airmaxx23, on 11/11/2009, -2/+11I don't get where the "falls hard" part came from...looked pretty harmless to me.
- llehctim, on 11/11/2009, -0/+9i'll bet you there's another video from the same event where he lands it. watch.
- BongWaterSmells, on 11/11/2009, -1/+9Riley would have nailed it
- s7rydr, on 11/11/2009, -0/+8this one shows him walking away:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjNLSYJAFNw&fea ... - ryudeshi, on 11/11/2009, -0/+7Coming from someone who skates vert, I can tell you that isn't nearly as bad as it looks. The transition of the ramp softens the fall a lot more than you think, and most of the force was taken away by him sliding as far as he did. It is the falls where you hit near bottom and don't move at all that really do some damage.
The only scary part is how he landed off axis because in mid air you have no idea what is going to happen at that point, or how far down you are about to fall. - usern4me, on 11/11/2009, -0/+7nahhh....he lost his shoes.
- TheTaoOfBill, on 11/11/2009, -2/+8who plays tony hawk on n64?!
- U83RMENSCH, on 11/11/2009, -0/+6no not really
- AmericanGunner, on 11/11/2009, -0/+6pretty sure everyone had the pizza hut demo for the ps1.
- TheTaoOfBill, on 11/11/2009, -1/+6I'm 23. The n64 Tony Hawk never did that well because everyone was used to playstation controls by the time it came out. Playing Tony Hawk on N64 is just awkward. And this is from someone who had a n64 and never owned a ps1 back then.
- tamman2000, on 11/11/2009, -0/+5Distance of the fall is irrelevant. What maters is the acceleration you get when you land, and he landed on a ramp of steep and decreasing slope. If you have to fall, that is what you want to land on... I would be surprised if he had more than a mild bruise.
- djlethal, on 11/11/2009, -0/+5Yeah I know eh. No one's going to have enough special after two grabs.
- Ocelot13, on 11/11/2009, -0/+5lets hope twilight will be the next one to fade
- metrenome, on 11/11/2009, -0/+4and mythbusters said it couldn't be done...
- EddiePotato, on 11/11/2009, -0/+4My thoughts exactly. That was the fall against which all others are judged. Tony *might* have gotten a bruise or two from his "hard fall".
- whatupdoc18, on 11/11/2009, -0/+4you're still a beast tony hawk:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4QGnppJ-ys&fea ... - tamman2000, on 11/11/2009, -0/+4If you get to land on a ramp of ~70 deg which slowly transitions to flat, they that isn't much of a fall...
- brandonb, on 11/11/2009, -0/+3Yep! about this time 10 years ago a stuffed crust pizza included a playstation demo disk. That's exactly how I discovered the game.
- jeremymccurdy, on 11/11/2009, -0/+3Sliding quickly down a ramp is now considered "falling hard"? I'm sure it hurt, but pretty much any skateboard wipe out video I've ever seen looked several times worse than that.
- captininsanity, on 11/11/2009, -5/+8Anyone who's over 12 remembers the n64 as where it started...
- brandonb, on 11/11/2009, -0/+2The N64 version was a port. It lacked a few things the Playstation version didn't. I'm sure it had something to do with memory limits on those cartridges.
- captininsanity, on 11/11/2009, -0/+2Well that's understandable. Playstations were a lot less common among my friends. For a second I though you were going to talk about tony hawk on gamecube or something like that.
- RoSoDigital, on 11/11/2009, -0/+2isn't he like 40… better be careful TH
- forgedfour, on 11/11/2009, -0/+2yeah snow is right on this one. transitions work much better with wheels.
- insomniacal, on 11/11/2009, -0/+2Meh, I was expecting worse.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 11/11/2009, -0/+2Tony Hawk on n64 always felt like a half-hearted knock-off.
That was one of the games I always made sure to mention when arguing with my friends which system was better during recess. :D - EddiePotato, on 11/11/2009, -1/+3He did walk away with some help, amazingly. But he wasn't exactly skipping away.
- BrownieMix, on 11/11/2009, -1/+2Tony Hawk on the N64 is such Nostalgia.
- thavi, on 11/13/2009, -0/+1jesus ***** christ what were his injuries like?
- Koushiro, on 11/11/2009, -1/+2Poor Tony hawk isn't as young as he used to be either. Hope nothing got broken.
