- Kobskid, on 11/24/2007, -1/+16Video of Zorbing. Doesnt look too intense to me.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfLmvDIZFcA - ashrric, on 11/24/2007, -0/+12Aren't extreme sports supposed to have an element of danger? This looks about as dangerous as playing in the ball pit at Chucky Cheese.
And I don't call one site in the entire US opening soon, "Sweeping the nation" - ChileanGoD, on 11/24/2007, -0/+10This could be a real winner in Niagara falls.
- spoodigity, on 11/24/2007, -0/+10Jackie Chan is still the Zorb master http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mI7vz9Bd664
- trezeguet23, on 11/24/2007, -0/+10Just imagine if you barf in the ball.
- inactive, on 11/24/2007, -1/+11this ain't new
- edstate, on 11/24/2007, -0/+7FTA: "at speeds of up to 25 mph"
- hollowex, on 11/24/2007, -0/+7it's been around for many decades actually
- ceris, on 11/24/2007, -0/+6I'm lost. Where is the EXTREME SPORT aspect of this? Do you get wired up on Mt. Dew before you slowly roll down a hill for 30 secs or something?
- thespudmall, on 11/24/2007, -1/+6Make it 50 mph and I'll try it! Or let me take it down a ski slope, in winter with snow on the ground!
- liquidjamm, on 11/24/2007, -0/+5do you get to shoot these balls? Boy I hope they make it an Olympic sport...
- BongoShack, on 11/24/2007, -0/+4I don't think it will be more successful that bungee jumping..
Looks like a one-time thing. - inactive, on 11/24/2007, -0/+4This one has music that fits with the action:

Looks boring. Maybe with a big ramp on the hill... - Harrison88, on 11/24/2007, -0/+3Zorbing isn't that special. Jumping off the Skytower in Auckland or jumping out of a plane is way more fun.
- inactive, on 11/24/2007, -0/+3that looks fun
- controlphreak, on 11/24/2007, -1/+4They're pretty cool. They came from New Zealand by the way ;)
- iJump, on 11/24/2007, -0/+3NaNaaaaaa, NaNaNaNaNa Na Naaaaa NaNa Na NaNa Naaaaa......
- GrantRobertson, on 11/24/2007, -0/+3This is nothing. We used to roll down the hill in a 55 gallon drum when I was a kid. And it was a pretty darn long hill.
- sarazen, on 11/24/2007, -0/+3Sounds barfy.
- Godmil, on 11/24/2007, -1/+3Hasn't this been on the go for more than 5 years or so?
- Unclickable, on 11/24/2007, -0/+2Not sure why there are no videos on the cnn site but here are few Zorbing http://yuxt.com/latiff/Zorbing
- UpTheToon, on 11/24/2007, -0/+2Aye, its pretty cool, I did it in Rotorua NZ.
You can go in with anohter person and see how long you can stay on your feet, its usually only about 2 seconds before one wipes the other out... - daybreaker, on 11/24/2007, -1/+3Ever since I saw it on Amazing Race, I wanted to try it out. It looks pretty cool.
- FTLJohnson, on 11/24/2007, -0/+2Fastest Zorber Ever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBezSbvi9Pc
::yawn:: - ScottDaMan, on 11/25/2007, -0/+2Now that they are cleared of all them damn obstacles (trees), sure!
/fires - jOOs, on 11/25/2007, -0/+2This has been going on in New Zealand for years
- Sautechef, on 11/24/2007, -0/+2It's not really a sport if it requires no skill and very little physical effort. More like "The latest extreme ride".
- murf43143, on 11/24/2007, -0/+2max 5mph...
GAY. - goat2, on 11/24/2007, -0/+2i thought this was about zoidberg or something
- mstoneburner, on 11/24/2007, -0/+2Doesn't "extreme" imply the chance of injury? This is neither extreme, nor a sport.
- karit, on 11/24/2007, -0/+2Umm this must getting on towards 10 years old now. There is nothing new about it.
- davem666, on 11/24/2007, -1/+2I tried this in New Zealand a few years back... It is totally f-ing awesome. I've gone bungee jumping, sky diving, sledging, white water rafting, paragliding, and Jumping off the Auckland Skytower. If I could only do one, I would choosing Zorbing over any of the others.
- Viruscool, on 11/24/2007, -0/+1Latest craze? Man those american are behind the times.
- byrdgang, on 11/24/2007, -0/+1You don't find it intense because you've never tried it before. Once you're in it, you'll find that the Zorb seems to go a lot faster than it is. It's all about perception. The steepness of a cliff is also a factor.
- Jamieee, on 11/24/2007, -0/+1There is a better one where you actually get strapped inside the ball and then you can go upside down and all sorts of cool things.
- toyotaboy, on 11/25/2007, -0/+1I was nearly going to travel to new zealand just for this (and maybe zip ties), so glad it's come to the states.
- MasterThief117, on 11/24/2007, -0/+1I though Numb Chucking was the new extreme sport.
- enri, on 11/24/2007, -0/+1Didn't Gallagher do something like this years ago?
- xike, on 11/24/2007, -0/+1Especially considering it's in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg...home of Dollywood and the Dixie Stampede.
- inactive, on 11/24/2007, -1/+1Latest? Watch Jackie Chan do it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mI7vz9Bd664 I am not sure about the year.
- PastorEd, on 11/24/2007, -0/+0"extreme" I can understand. However, where is the "sport" involved? This takes no athletic ability whatsoever. It's about as much of a "sport" as being a passenger in a car.
Granted, this particular car is constantly flipping you every which way, but there's really no "sport" to it. How about setting up some kind of slalom course where the driver can manipulate the ball through the course?
Or set up some life-size pachinko game like the Japanese? Oh, wait a minute... haven't they already done that on "Extreme Elimination Challenge" or whatever that wacky Japanese redubbed television show they have on SpikeTV? - crossers, on 07/14/2008, -0/+0hmm... I think I like it! ... yeah I like it!

- randomtask30, on 11/24/2007, -0/+0I think it looks like fun. They have it in Japan. I saw my uncles family vacation video from there, where they filmed zorbing. I bet the hills of so cal would be a good local for this.

- pipipie, on 11/26/2007, -0/+0People just need to start watching Nick GAS more...they would have picked up on this years ago and been with the times :(
- ambushxx, on 11/25/2007, -0/+0More like an extreme carnival ride.
- cstewart28, on 11/24/2007, -4/+2This is old skool! Came out about about 2 years ago.
