- skanlessflipboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just to put this into perspective, 100 feet is big, but when considering the size of waves this is just ridiculous. I live in Oceanside, CA (San Diego County) and not much of a beach goer, but I'm there a lot over summer. Although I can swim, waves that are about 2-3 feet can really wipe you out if you go against it properly. You'd find yourself underwater for a good couple of seconds after wiping out for just such small waves.

I haven't surfed in a couple years though cuz I live in Detroit now. You can find surf around here though believe it or not. The lakes can get passable waves from time to time and the heavy iron ore freighters coming down the river all day are very useful. I used to do most of my surfing along the beaches between L.A. and S.D. - idonthack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1*****. Wiping out on that could easily kill you.
