- trendymoniker, on 10/19/2009, -1/+29FTV: "Do you think anyone else had as much fun as we did today? In the entire world?"
Probably not. - defteats, on 10/19/2009, -0/+23What can happen...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvjgvXcxMsU&fea ... - BigCheezy, on 10/19/2009, -1/+16As much as I want to do this kind of thing, this video really serves to put the whole thing in perspective. That video is bone chilling.
- funkboy27, on 10/19/2009, -0/+13"That's not flying... That's falling, with style!" - Woody
- jamdogg, on 10/19/2009, -0/+8So much for "total control".
Still respect them though. - heldlik, on 10/19/2009, -0/+7By step by step progress (through many jumps in safe areas), gaining experience about the suit, your ability, and the area you are flying in. Developing rules for the flight to recognize when you are approaching your limits. Staying within your limits.
Experience, experience and experience! - thenorwegian, on 10/19/2009, -5/+11Why are so many reporters douchebags?
- leif777, on 10/19/2009, -0/+6I jumped tandem for the first time this summer because I saw one of these guys on youtube. I'll be taking the course to jump solo this coming summer. I'm sure it'll take a few hundred jumps until I can get into one of these suits and a few more hundred jumps before I'm jumping off mountains.
We all need goals. Wish me luck. - ddawggin, on 10/19/2009, -2/+8I'll do the jumping part if you do the climbing the mountain part. I don't know how well we'll fly with you on my back but that'd only be an issue if you were able to make it all the way up to the top carrying me.
Maybe we should stick to solo acts. - bkraj, on 10/19/2009, -0/+5Shane McConkey was a hell of an athlete. It's too bad what happened to him.
- amabaie, on 10/19/2009, -3/+8I love the climbing mountains part...but I'll let others do the jumping off part.
- brentjholmes, on 10/19/2009, -0/+4did not expect 60 minutes to be showing this
- flamesoftheend, on 10/19/2009, -1/+5Its like he tried to put doubt into their minds with every question. What a scrotum
- Sparky9292, on 10/19/2009, -2/+6How do those guys know that the slope of the mountain is not less than the glide path of the flight-suits? Do they just eye-ball it? If the cliff is at a 90 degree angle to the ground, OK, that seems safe, but those mountains have like an 60 to 70 degree slope.... What if you can't glide out far enough?
What calculations do they do before they jump? - CanadaMan87, on 10/19/2009, -0/+4Not really the same experience. The mountains were almost the whole point of it, if you'd watch the video.
- jwanderson, on 10/19/2009, -0/+3Just bring 10 grand to the mountain and you're good to go!
- whatupdoc18, on 10/19/2009, -2/+4they should strap on some laser tag equipment and just have dogfights up there
- treynorm89, on 10/19/2009, -1/+3I bet none of them had as much fun as this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQ7zbta79vo
- 12916studios, on 10/19/2009, -0/+2That thudding sound as he hit the bridge. My gosh... That's something I really want to forget already.
- yocouchdigga, on 10/19/2009, -0/+2God damn, I wish I could do this without the chance of dying a horrible death. I can't even imagine the rush, it must be so insane.
- rmxz, on 10/19/2009, -0/+2Without the chance of dying a horrible death, I imagine the rush would be much less insane.
- askantik, on 11/05/2009, -0/+1"To one of the most beautiful places on earth, to see what this is all about... INTRODUCING THE ALL NEW CHEVROLET EQUINOX"... -_-
Also dug for ***** Norway. - lovehandles74, on 10/19/2009, -0/+1first birdman failed

http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=1778399& ... - dbixler, on 10/19/2009, -0/+1As awesome as that looks, it's not something I'd ever want to even try. While the adrenaline rush would be amazing, it's just not worth death. However, it's totally amazing to watch these guys. I'm guessing those suits are pretty pricey too, considering there are probably only about 50 of these guys worldwide... a niche market.
- Alienrace, on 10/19/2009, -0/+1They were still pretty "WTF are you doing" about it.
- MorfiusX, on 10/20/2009, -0/+1I would do this in a heartbeat. No question about it.
- heldlik, on 10/19/2009, -0/+1Nope! It's quite a large market. Same suits are used in skydiving environment.
BUT there are probably only a few as you said, experienced enough to do this (and I'm guessing they got their suit for free from some sponsor... ;) - askantik, on 11/05/2009, -0/+1Jeez, ***** that.
I'll just stick to hiking up those mountains... that's dangerous enough. ***** rad scenery in the video (not the sad/disturbing bridge one, either). - verynegative, on 10/19/2009, -0/+1I wouldnt mind if i die doing this.
- FaceFuker, on 10/19/2009, -0/+1I WANT TO DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- 416BC, on 10/19/2009, -0/+0I've always wanted to fly with a wing suit! Thanks for the share.
- whytey, on 10/19/2009, -2/+2Your penis?
- quirkopatra, on 10/19/2009, -2/+2That *****'ll kill you!
"Look Mom! I'm flying through th...." - whytey, on 10/19/2009, -1/+1Kevin Rose gonna try this?
- MorfiusX, on 10/20/2009, -1/+1I see a big difference between jumping strait out and trying to fly under a bridge. I would jump off the cliff. I wouldn't fly under the bridge.
- b3and1p, on 10/19/2009, -1/+1What about a goal that could actually do some good in this world?
Oh hell what am I talking about, my goals are to have more money lol - HawaiiRacer, on 10/19/2009, -1/+1Greatest thing I have ever seen! Where do I sign up?
- stahlvee, on 10/19/2009, -1/+1i think i'd rather hang glide off the mountain
- tylerjohn, on 10/20/2009, -0/+0Here is a video from Seven Sunny Days which features wing suit jumps combined with stunning camera work. A must watch for anybody even remotely interested.

- inactive, on 10/19/2009, -9/+3I rather jump off an airplane with a wing suit. same experience no climbing and no mountains to crash in to.
- HurricaneDC, on 10/19/2009, -13/+1Hooray natural selection
- Pinkertinkle, on 10/19/2009, -19/+1Those suits look kinda stupid. Like a skirt for the legs and the arms.
What is Digg?
