- blah247, on 01/22/2009, -1/+23I like watching old Bones Brigade videos. That's more my generation.
- SpectralSounds, on 01/22/2009, -0/+9We are old.
Bones Brigade, Powell Peralta, Vision Street Wear, T&C.... I miss the 80's. - chr00t, on 01/22/2009, -0/+8I was about to say the same thing!! The Search for Animal Chin!! Ialways loved how they would destroy TV's @ the end of the video.
- IRAcarbombs, on 01/22/2009, -1/+9You mustve been one of those inline skaters
- Nick217, on 01/22/2009, -10/+17"Skateboarders and surfers are a circle-jerking bunch." truer words never written.
- threemagic, on 01/22/2009, -5/+11Lords of Doggtown?
Time didn't forget.. it made a movie about them - lemercier, on 01/22/2009, -3/+9I have had the amazing opportunity to meet and get to know some of the original Z Boys. Amazing stories. Great guys. Salt Creek, however, only brings back memories of agonizing cross country races and high-school bon fires gone very, very wrong. Will always be a Zephyr gal at heart.
- Louay, on 01/22/2009, -0/+6old man yells at cloud
- 69fezz96, on 01/22/2009, -0/+6In rural Washington state I was the only one who even road a skateboard, I had a Powell Peralta board with Bones wheels. Used to ride that thing everywhere.
Ah, the eighties. - inactive, on 01/22/2009, -0/+5ouch
i bet even back then the salt creek boys were seething with jelousy because all the hott chicks went for the z-boys - frunch217, on 01/22/2009, -0/+5tl;dr
anyone actually read all 6 pages? - rblancarte, on 01/23/2009, -0/+4To Everyone that Didn't RTFA (only the above description), the article is about Team Hobie, not the Z-boys. The Z-Boys have the attention now and Hobie is being forgotten.
- slim5234, on 01/23/2009, -0/+4Read the goddamn article before posting next time.
- jasonsalas, on 01/23/2009, -0/+4For sure: "The Search for Animal Chin" is a personal fave
- morgino, on 01/22/2009, -1/+5Sweet....I grew up at Salt Creek and my youth was all about skateboarding and bodyboarding. Good memories in Laguna Niguel from diggin out ditches to skate in. I built two halfpipes, one was bulldozed over and the other set on fire. We used to steal wood from the construction sites, put them on our board and take wild rides down the hill. Good times. I really need to start skateboarding again now that there are parks friggin everywhere, the kids dont know how lucky they are to have that.
- kamakazitp, on 01/22/2009, -0/+4you obviously didn't read the article.
- Louay, on 01/22/2009, -0/+4dog town and z boys was better
- johnpaul191, on 01/22/2009, -0/+4obesity and skaters? most skaters are in pretty good shape, and develop a really good sense of balance. Skateboarding = strength, endurance, balance, creativity, and fun fun fun.
Seriously, i think the increase in popularity of skateboarding is good for the health of this generation. In a time when school sports programs are running out of funding, and playing fields disappear, what's better than a sport any kid can go do by themselves?
I would much rather see kids actually ride a skateboard than play skateboard on their Xbox. - wo0dy, on 01/22/2009, -0/+4no one who posted read that shiet
- gipester, on 01/22/2009, -2/+5Um, two movies. Dogtown and Z-boys is a documentary, and Lords of Dogtown was the dramatized feature.
- Schralpy, on 01/22/2009, -0/+3I wish digg would enter the 21st century and retitle this section something other than 'extreme.'

I wonder if I can still buy a "Christian Hosoi" hammerhead board.. - wingo123, on 01/22/2009, -1/+3The Bones Brigade were my heroes as a young lad.
- Schralpy, on 01/22/2009, -1/+3Best. Skate. Video. Ever.
- thizzlebot, on 01/22/2009, -1/+380s kicked ass
- deadasdisco, on 01/22/2009, -0/+2i'd say more like: paris hilton, jonas brothers, and soulja boi are ruining america's youth. along with every reality show like girls next door.
- n88n, on 02/02/2009, -0/+2My Rob Roskopp was the *****.
- blah247, on 01/23/2009, -0/+2You can watch them all on youtube. That vert ramp is still kick ass... although from what I see now with skateboarding vert ramps really aren't that popular except for that freak ass mega ramp bit...
- johnpaul191, on 01/22/2009, -1/+3Have you seen him?
- MrDoug, on 01/22/2009, -1/+3I have a friend...
...his name is Animal.
Don't worry bout a think...
...he's not a Cannibal.
Always happy, he's got a grin.
Have you seen him? He's Animal Chin.

- cuoops, on 01/23/2009, -1/+2You don't hear much about Heath Ledger in Lords of Dogtown. He did a fantastic job. The actual person and all the other people portrayed in the movie said he was spot on. Plus it's a good movie.
- jmandawg, on 01/22/2009, -2/+3who's got time to read all this?
- p3ngwin, on 01/23/2009, -0/+1agreed.
i can't stand the idea of a dramatised version of a documentary. - aneirin, on 01/23/2009, -0/+1they were forgotten because they weren't as good, and didn't go on to found influential companies and teams
- Syzygy117, on 01/23/2009, -0/+1I always thought freestyle/slalom skating was most impressive.
- deadasdisco, on 01/22/2009, -1/+1yes.
- harrisp13, on 01/23/2009, -1/+1Read the damn article!!!!!! It's not about Dogtown!!!!!!
- footfwd, on 01/22/2009, -3/+3time almost forgot... with a major hollywood movie.
- xXGetInTherexX, on 01/26/2009, -0/+0I miss the A-Team.
