In fact, Tony had to perform his 900 in a much shorter distance than did Sandro (who was flying over a distance 3X greater than Tony). So while it's still an impressive trick, if you're not going to perform it under the same conditions then it's just not as impressive as Tony Hawk's attempt.

- gnarkill726, on 09/05/2008, -1/+10No, that's not even close to being correct. The fact is, Sandro is really the only guy who can do them consistently. So no, they haven't become common at all, whereas yes, the backflips in motocross have.

You ever see any of his Christ Air 540's those things are so huge and he must travel 10 feet across the ramp and lands those things. Sandro is the man on the very ramp hands down!

So soft you could sleep on 'em. - r00t3d0ut, on 09/05/2008, -0/+6if you watch Sandro you'll see him land squat with his hands dragging; i'm assuming that you're spinning so fast that it's extremely hard to correct yourself without getting whiplash in the process. not taking anything away from Sandro, because it's an extremely hard trick to pull off, i prefer the way Tony Hawk does the 900 because he grabs mute instead of backside which is more of an McTwist-type maneuver and reminiscent of the original trick which is what i grew up with seeing.

- inactive, on 09/05/2008, -0/+5Yep, I like Tony's version way better. Grabbing mute and going straight up and straight down. Sandro's looks like a cheat coz he flies 15 feet across the ramp and lands a few feet below the coping, sideways. I guess it just depends on which style you like.
