- Zoshx, on 11/09/2009, -1/+52I want to see Fedor pound Lesnar's face into the mat.
- growvideos, on 11/08/2009, -0/+41Fedor is the man, one of the most exciting fighters to watch.
- mparker21311, on 11/09/2009, -0/+28I think Fedor's cyborg image was strengthened when he showed ZERO emotional reaction to KO'ing Rogers. His managers jumping around, cheering, and Fedor just ***** walks around as if the ending was predetermined and kinda just wants to go home now.
I've said this before and I'll say it again. You can put Fedor up against anyone and my money is on Fedor. - absolutelytrue, on 11/08/2009, -1/+26It was pathetic to see Rogers begging after the fight. I hope there is a rematch and we get to see him eat all that smack talk again.
- kingbinji, on 11/09/2009, -1/+24fedor could kill me 2 seconds
- Oddish, on 11/09/2009, -1/+21FTA: "Fedor was rocked against Brett Rogers"
Uhh.. no he wasn't. He got a cut on the nose. Blood != rocked.
FTA: "Rogers more than held his own against Fedor. He had Fedor hurt and came close to finishing him."
What match were these guys watching? Fedor was never in any real danger. - irish2ice, on 11/09/2009, -0/+16I totally disagree. Anyone who doesn't know who Fedor is a complete NOOB to the sport. By the way, I'm obviously American and would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Fedor kick the living ***** out of Brock Lesnar.
- kingatrock, on 11/09/2009, -0/+14yeah haha, fedor has been "hurt" before. For god sakes Randleman dropped him on his head and he still won 2 minutes later. Everyone gets a shot at Fedor and seemingly "hurt" him, eventually they all fall.
- DISEX, on 11/09/2009, -2/+16From the Article:
"Rogers more than held his own against Fedor. He had Fedor hurt and came close to finishing him. He wants a rematch and Fedor said he would be willing to give it to him."
When was this? When he punched Fedor a few times on the floor that he absorbed then attempted the armbar? That's the only place that he might have been in trouble. The blood over Fedors face is normal. Fedor is a ***** cyborg with baby sensitive skin. - sketcher67, on 11/09/2009, -1/+14If Fedor ever fought Chuck Norris we would all be dead.
- thenoxx, on 11/09/2009, -2/+14It didn't look like smack talk to me, he was just really disappointed with himself. And who wouldn't be? The shot of a lifetime at the greatest MMA fighter to ever live and he fails.
Of course, he should just be happy to have fought Fedor. If I were him, I'd take those blood-stained shorts he had on and frame them at home.
I also think the debut was ***** explosive for MMA on CBS, and I'm glad Strikeforce had it. I think they'll be giving UFC a run for their money in the following months and years if they keep delivering like that on CBS. Dana White could humble himself a little and stop treating fighters like crap and be more open to other media outlets, but we know White's ego is bigger than his ***** cars and mcmansion, so that'll never happen. - HouseofEl, on 11/09/2009, -0/+11Agreed with that, but it wasn't how calm he was after the KO that was interesting. It was how soft spoken the man was afterwards during the interview. The man is just so mechanical about it all. Takes a good bit of punches in the first round just dissecting Rogers skill and then bam game over. He's willing to take a beating in the process just to find their weaknesses. The way he shook off what looked like a wicked broken nose and those head shots while on the ground...the man is the definition of dangerous.
- mike23w, on 11/09/2009, -0/+11You're giving yourself too much credit.
- ShutItDown, on 11/09/2009, -0/+10I just want to see Fedor KO that ***** chest Brock Lesner. Also, Gegard Mousassi has really shown himself to be a great fighter. He is my favorite fighter to watch. Very skillful and calm when he fights.
- xtraspecialj, on 11/09/2009, -0/+10I sort of agree with thenoxx in that I don't think that Rogers was pathetic. I do however feel that it was quite disrespectful of Rogers to immediately start calling out for a rematch. I could see him asking for a rematch if it was a controversial split decision or an iffy referee stoppage, but he got beat fair and square. If you want a rematch, then shut your mouth, start training, and win some more fights against some other tough opponents. In other words, he needs to EARN a rematch, not demand one.
- Sheaf, on 11/09/2009, -2/+12Both of the immediate post-fight interviews in the cage were just plain stupid. They basically cornered Fedor and made him accept a rematch and then made it seem to Rogers that Fedor was asking for a rematch.
Rogers was never close to finishing Fedor as the article claims. He may have had a busted up hand and nose, but he was never in danger and indeed looked increasingly more deadly the farther the fight went. It boils down to Strikeforce not having anyone to challenge Fedor except Overeem, who doesn't seem to care about fighting for them ever again. - dynamitshikoku1, on 11/09/2009, -0/+10Like i've been telling my friends who think Fedor isn't so special, he's the Tyson of MMA with the most lethal ground techniques with little to no weaknesses; and the only thing that's gonna that stop him it seems is age, old old old age -or obesity.
- Propethic, on 11/09/2009, -0/+10Did you notice your caps lock was on mid-post and apologize?
- da1prophet, on 11/09/2009, -0/+10Fedor would teabag Lesnar...
- mparker21311, on 11/09/2009, -0/+9I guess it's safe to say that Fedor is the thinker's type of fighter.
- kingatrock, on 11/09/2009, -0/+9Fedor Legendary Highlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDw3tUuoLpM
- tyrone888, on 11/09/2009, -1/+9It's hard to overrate someone with a 31-1 record who beats top contenders that usually outweigh him by a lot.
- kingatrock, on 11/09/2009, -1/+9first second he would be busy killing Chuck Norris
- harpoonhank420, on 11/09/2009, -1/+9very pleased with the overall strikeforce show
- bigfatphony19, on 11/09/2009, -0/+8I heard Rogers talking ***** on Adam Carolla's podcast a couple days before the fight, about how this fight would make Fedor move to a smaller weight class because he was going to lose so badly.
El oh el. - Propethic, on 11/09/2009, -0/+7Their first punch would meet knuckle to knuckle and the Earth would explode, instantly.
- heavyj1970, on 11/09/2009, -0/+6Werdum says he want to fight him, he doesn't stand a chance either, I would love to see Fedor v. Lesnar, but if we ever happen to see that fight it will most likely be after their prime, right now they can't get close on a deal.
- kingatrock, on 11/09/2009, -2/+8Just a shame most American fans still don't know who he is. "Brock WOULD oWN HIM!!1!1" with a 4-1 record..
- heavyj1970, on 11/09/2009, -0/+6yes and i was too lazy to start over
- xaraan, on 11/09/2009, -2/+8I'd love to see Fedor try that. I think it would be an interesting match-up. And I don't see why Lesnar can't be taken seriously. The guy has a pretty serious wrestling background, better than most other mma fighters/champs that have wrestling backgrounds. He has great conditioning, which is something that big guys have issues with (like Rogers where he gassed half way through round one). And he hits hard. Sure he has holes in his game, but so does Fedor. And Brock would come into the fight at about 280 to Fedor's 230. Don't fall into the typical mma fan trap of dismissing Brock.
- WhoDoneIt, on 11/09/2009, -1/+7What should then, chipsahoy?
- xaraan, on 11/09/2009, -2/+8UFC will not co-promote.
They tried it with Pride years ago and got screwed in the deal after their guys fought in Pride, but then they didn't come through on their fights in the UFC.
Plus, Pride was at least equal in popularity/size to UFC (if more international). Whereas strikeforce is a small local promotion that the UFC would gain nothing working with. The company that Fedor co-owns (M-1 Global) that you see on the signs with Strikeforce was the problem when the UFC tried to sign Fedor. M-1 was demanding equal co-promotion status on everything with UFC for bringing Fedor despite the fact they weren't bringing anything else to the table and UFC said hell no. - Chris1wrestling, on 11/09/2009, -1/+7Douchebag.
- DISEX, on 11/09/2009, -2/+7Says who? Last I checked their was a sports section and MMA qualifies as such.
- Microdot, on 11/09/2009, -3/+7i would pay massive amounts of money to watch that happen. it disgusts me a little that lesnar is even taken seriously.
- ZzFDKzZ, on 11/09/2009, -0/+4Fedor vs. Werdum, Rogers vs Bigfoot Silva
- sychodan, on 11/09/2009, -0/+4Alistair Overeem whos size and world class kickboxing skills might give fedor a problem. That is if he passes his drug test. Besides that I have little interest in seeing Fedor Vs. Werdum or Fedor vs Rogers 2.
- ShutItDown, on 11/09/2009, -1/+5Do you see Pepsi and Coke doing a joint product?
- newes, on 11/09/2009, -0/+3To be fair it was the guy that was interviewing him that brought up the rematch stuff.
- newes, on 11/09/2009, -0/+3If strikeforce keeps putting kick ass cards on network T.V. thats all the promotion they need. I never even heard of strikeforce before the other night and i'll take that over UFC any day now.
- Zalyster, on 11/09/2009, -1/+4I thought this article was about Roger Federer for a second there...
- buffalogums, on 11/09/2009, -1/+4I will be pissed if Dana White can't put this fight together until Fedor is getting too old.
I would LOVE to watch Fedor knock the ***** out of ***** Chest. Seriously, who has a giant penis tattooed on their chest? His stand up game is pathetic. - rheaume, on 11/09/2009, -0/+3Yeah, like moments after he had to be helped out from a KO, maybe wait til later? pathetic
- JigoroKano, on 11/09/2009, -0/+3You also might like that he doesn't look into his opponents eyes during the stare down at the beginning of the fight. He looks down at their feet.
- kingatrock, on 11/09/2009, -0/+3theres a reasons he's practically vacated the belt (overeem), same reason he put on 50+ pounds of muscle by only eat "horse meat".. He will never pass that drug test in the US.
- DontDoDrugs, on 11/09/2009, -0/+3W(Fedor vs Overeem) vs W(Werdum vs Rogers) OR W(Rogers vs Overeem) vs W(Fedor vs Werdum) would probably give us Fedor vs Rogers again... If Overeem doesn't fight in Strikeforce again, then then Rogers will probably get an immediate rematch... There probably isn't a way around having a rematch... Seriously though, who will Fedor fight after that? He needs to get in the UFC where there are more top heavyweights... and to break Lesnar's face.
- cadillacboogie, on 11/09/2009, -2/+5You call that close? That was nothing compared to the Kevin Randleman slam. You can't read Fedor. Just when you think you have him he comes back and destroys. The man is a machine.
- Chris1wrestling, on 11/09/2009, -0/+3Fedor would just armbar Chuck Norris...
- xtraspecialj, on 11/09/2009, -2/+5For a Fedor fan, you seem to be lacking in knowledge of Fedor's past. Fedor's chin is legendary. There have been many fights where he has been seemingly hurt badly yet still wins in a dominating fashion. Rogers did get a few good shots in while Fedor was on his back, but "pretty close" is far from what I saw. If it was "pretty close", then Fedor would not have immediately been able to slip out of it. If it was "pretty close" then he would have been noticeably shaken from the shots. There was nothing close about it. Fedor did what he always does. Remained calm, stuck to his game plan, and waited for his opportunity to pounce. Just because it was his toughest fight in the last couple years doesn't mean that he was close to losing.
- Bobbister, on 11/09/2009, -1/+3I agree in that I was also surprised how vulnerable Fedor looked. When he was getting rocked by Rogers in the face while on his back, I was genuinely shocked.
I was scared that after Mirko, it was Fedor's time to fall from his prime...
But Fedor... overrated? One of the greatest MMA fighters ever, yet people in the US barely know who he is... If anything, he's severely underexposed and underrated in the US. TLDR: buried. -
