- phlezk, on 09/06/2008, -4/+17I hate that fake crowd noise they use at the end. They always use that same sound clip.

- Pobotrol, on 09/07/2008, -0/+5What a classy television program.
- kaminariko, on 09/07/2008, -0/+4This was on Discovery "Destroyed in Seconds" yesterday. They said that the kill switch was disabled and the throttle malfunctioned and stuck. It sounded suspicious to me, but they didn't discuss it much.
- RockyCosmos, on 09/06/2008, -2/+6...usually you say "skip to" when there is a LOT of time wasted.
- moghua, on 09/07/2008, -0/+3I prefer shows of the genre "World's (blank)iest (blank)".
- dannyapplesauce, on 09/07/2008, -0/+3I assume you meant to use the reply button?
- themastersb, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2Why do they have to add explosion sound effects and audience noises in shows like these? It just makes it sound dumb.
- Eisim, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2Capitalized OUT for good measure. OUT!
- lou2005, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2Ummmm. Don't these things come with a kill switch? Or at least an on/off switch? How about a gear selector?
- sting87, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2what ads? :)
- gfxluvr, on 09/07/2008, -0/+2It was quite annoying clicking the x on those ***** ads every 10 seconds.
- adml_shake, on 09/07/2008, -0/+1Why is this person being dugg down? I saw that episode also and that is what they said.
- fr0mundacheese, on 09/07/2008, -2/+3...Because the next day he tried the same trick from his out-of-control 747, and didn't fare as well.

- dancantone, on 09/07/2008, -0/+1Quick thinking for sure, he could've just as easily figured it would slide safely up on the shore and slow to a stop. Good thing he didn't, I really wasn't expecting it to launch and explode off the trees the way it did.

Better that than, "I just launched like a rocket into a pine thicket and exploded all to hell!" - RedSquaree, on 09/07/2008, -0/+1...evidently, not THAT lucky.

Gear selectors, like any mechanical part in an engine as complex as a boat racing engine, can fail rather easily. It's pretty obvious that some sort of mechanical problem occurred to this boat. Even though the lake was calm and the boats look like they were pretty stable they were undoubtedly bouncing/vibrating quite a bit, and engines can take only so much of that before something fatigues and breaks.
If you time the video this guy had roughly 6 seconds between the finish line and when the boat launched out of the lake. In those 6 seconds I'm sure he tried whatever he quickly could to stop it, but that's barely enough time to lower the throttle, realize it's not working, and bail out of the boat. - inactive, on 09/07/2008, -1/+1Wow.
- Godlike, on 09/07/2008, -1/+1You have no idea what you are talking about.
