Skateboarding in an Empty Waterpark watch!
shredordie.com — Rob & Big stop at a dry water park on their way to Vegas for a little skate session. This looks like it would be a lot of fun on a longboard!

- AManWithNoName, on 05/30/2008, -13/+251Is it sad that I watched the entire video, and all I could think about was how great their video player was?
- liquidtaco, on 05/31/2008, -1/+122yeah i don't understand how youtube's player can be so bad while a website 50 times less popular can have such a good one
- masfenix, on 05/31/2008, -13/+4Youtube hosts like a million videos? I am pretty sure they hog like 50% of the world's bandwith.
- mateusap, on 05/31/2008, -0/+3Like 30% or so, imagine the power bill.
- sifeliz, on 05/31/2008, -0/+2yeah they totally clog up the tubes
- ers35, on 05/31/2008, -11/+3It is not even close to 50%.
- jcaino, on 05/31/2008, -1/+10want to see another nice player? check out some porn sites like pussy.org. as usual, porn leads the industry.
- kaplanfx, on 05/31/2008, -0/+13Somehow I doubt that pussy.org is a non-profit.
- MrSarcasm, on 05/31/2008, -1/+8ah, the memories of typing in pussy.org while searching for info about cats in third grade.
- rockefeller2, on 06/01/2008, -1/+2Damn, we didn't have pussy.org when I was in third grade. We didn't even have the internets. My, how things have changed.
- masfenix, on 05/31/2008, -13/+4Youtube hosts like a million videos? I am pretty sure they hog like 50% of the world's bandwith.
- HMMcKamikaze, on 05/31/2008, -4/+36Yeah, that video was so sketchy.
- TheConman, on 05/31/2008, -0/+6lol that got so annoying, the entire time all i could think about was, can't he say anything else? and he said it like 5 times in quick succession.
- MtheoryX, on 06/01/2008, -0/+1Almost as bad as New Jersey douchebags saying "That's so cash."
- DemDude, on 05/31/2008, -11/+1Yes. Very, very sad.
Did you notice that those guys were doing crazy jumps in a waterslide, and that they could have died just by making one minor mistake?- radsprack, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1No I didn't. Thank you SOOO very much for pointing that out to me.
/sarcasm - DemDude, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1Apparently, you really have to mark sarcasm and irony whenever you use it.
I WAS JOKING!
- radsprack, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1No I didn't. Thank you SOOO very much for pointing that out to me.
- slavetothought, on 05/31/2008, -11/+2Yeah real sad.... That VIDEO PLAYER did suck. You need help.
- ajchavar, on 05/31/2008, -0/+21shred or die's player is great, if only because you can go frame-by-frame. i guess they did it because action sports are awesome in slow-mo, but thats no excuse for why youtube can't do it.
- krinthekuz, on 09/16/2008, -10/+2cue mockups of how youtube's player "should look", photoshopped by some 19 year old undergrad with no UI training whatsoever ... in 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...
- evulhotdog, on 05/31/2008, -0/+3Fail?
- Syphon8, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1In the artistic world, training is worthless.
- mrfunktastic, on 05/31/2008, -0/+2Good UI design is a mixture of art AND science.
- Dustmuffins, on 05/31/2008, -0/+7That slow-mo feature is awesome.
- burnerz, on 05/31/2008, -0/+9Yeah, a great video player, the slomo and the jump back 5 seconds is amazing i have to say, youtube's player is glichy and hard to jump to certain points in the video.
- void, on 05/31/2008, -0/+4I also like how you can go fullscreen halfway through without having to restart the video.
- Skullpop, on 06/01/2008, -1/+1You can't skip to a part of the video that isn't loaded though.. Kinda useful feature shredordie missed out on.
- mentor972, on 06/01/2008, -0/+1I agree. Having slow-mo and frame by frame is awesome!
- liquidtaco, on 05/31/2008, -1/+122yeah i don't understand how youtube's player can be so bad while a website 50 times less popular can have such a good one
- pentupentropy, on 05/30/2008, -8/+41man that would be awesome. It makes me miss skating, which I haven't done in 15 years =)
- moletimer, on 05/31/2008, -0/+9You're never too old to start skating again, man.
- fletcher008, on 05/31/2008, -0/+22"old man style!"
- Disease, on 05/31/2008, -1/+1It was sketchy.
- LemonPress, on 05/31/2008, -7/+3Old man on digg!
- RNEMESiS42, on 06/01/2008, -0/+1I try to start up again every few years...ollie some stairs and twist my ankle...WOO!
- rockefeller2, on 06/01/2008, -0/+1Same ***** here. Bruise the bottoms of my feet all up too, then I'm limping around at work. People ask me whats wrong and I have to make some ***** up (because I have an engineering job and wear conservative clothes @ work, nobody would suspect that I have tattoos and skateboard).
- SirPopper, on 05/30/2008, -18/+3Yeah wanna see more of such XTREME!
- zennyboy21, on 05/30/2008, -3/+47That would be so much fun! Too bad I don't know how to skate.
- specialK16, on 05/31/2008, -0/+15I do.
/Plays Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 - lianculta, on 05/31/2008, -0/+8You could always sit down on it like they did!
- zennyboy21, on 05/31/2008, -0/+3lol... that makes me feel kinda dumb. Why didn't I think of that?
- specialK16, on 05/31/2008, -0/+15I do.
- lyziwyg, on 05/30/2008, -12/+89The cool thing about this is that it seems actually dangerous, unlike normal skatepark vids which are in a controlled environment. Of course for kids skating, danger is bad, but it makes for a good video.
- dairien, on 05/31/2008, -2/+7That's not true at all. Skateboarding is as dangerous as you allow it to be. Just because a park is created for skateboarding does not make it any safer.
- Syphon8, on 05/31/2008, -1/+4You're never in danger of a 50 foot drop at a skatepark.
- zephyr42, on 06/01/2008, -0/+1you'd be surprised...
- jlmillstein, on 05/31/2008, -0/+250 feet isn't to big of a deal for Danny Way either.

- dlsspy, on 05/31/2008, -0/+3People have died in at least two skateparks in my area (SF Bay). I've watched kids break their arms (as in -- there's no elbow there) on 3' banks.
If you think it's not dangerous, I'd guess it's because you have no first-hand experience. - Ch0mpr, on 06/01/2008, -0/+3just like the top 3 guys have said... you're a ***** idiot.
Go jump off a cliff!....with a skateboard! ;D

- kelmaster1, on 06/05/2008, -0/+1it was pretty much shred or die, really.
- wayyy, on 05/31/2008, -29/+2You beat me to it.
- EatingPie, on 05/30/2008, -15/+76First, skateparks *are* dangerous to some extent. They all but disappeared completely during the 1980s -- too many injuries, too much insurance -- to have a resurgence in the late '90s and 2000s. Though they're totally different now, less bowls and keyholes, more grinds and inclines. But it's foolish to think that any skate park is a cakewalk. That's how you get hurt.
Awesome video, and kind of makes that point. I'm glad the guys didn't just go nuts, but tested it out and tried different things to work up their courage. You kept hearing "sketchy!" for a reason! The buttboarding was more my speed, but also pretty damn sketchy too! The dust looked the problem. Thicker wheels, really soft, maybe even the off-road style would get you enough traction.

- MtheoryX, on 06/02/2008, -0/+1It still irritates me; however, trying to tell him to cut it out has proven to be pointless.

- PsychoNavigator, on 05/31/2008, -0/+4Thanks for putting your name at the end of the post. I forgot who was writing it until I read that.
- funkyloki, on 05/31/2008, -0/+0The video was awesome, but doesn't illustrate your point. Since these guys were skating in a water park, something it was never intended for, of course it is dangerous, but that does not prove that skate parks in and of themselves are dangerous, because skate parks and water parks are not the same thing. There are no 50 foot drops or 100 yard slides at skate parks.
Please understand that I am not debating whether skate parks are dangerous (they are), I just don't see how this video verifies that, since it had nothing to do with a skate park.
- xxMarka, on 05/31/2008, -5/+32"-Pie"?
- romistrub, on 05/30/2008, -4/+55I do *not* have the balls to attempt anything like this, ever. I thought they were going to plummet to their deaths at any moment.

- VidDigger, on 05/30/2008, -7/+112this is like a real life tony hawk game!
- PantherX, on 05/31/2008, -2/+5Yeah, I want that level in the next one.
Seems like it's been forever since a Tony Hawk game came out.- specialK16, on 05/31/2008, -0/+6Yes, because after THUG, they all suck.
- DemDude, on 05/31/2008, -0/+4Yeah, it's already been almost a year! ;-P
If you've gon a PS3 or a 360, give "skate." a try. I was a big fan of the Tony Hawk's series, but got really bored after THPS4 because it was all just buttonmashing and no real skill. You could easily do 50 tricks in one combo. That's not the case in skate, it's a whole new experience, it's like real life skating! (Which I have done for a couple of years, so I can make that comparison)
Now TH just isn't that much fun anymore, because you know there's skate. =)- burjzyntski, on 05/31/2008, -2/+0skate is hard...harder than tony hawk, but more accurate as far as physics are concerned.
therefore, i find tony hawk more fun :D
- burjzyntski, on 05/31/2008, -2/+0skate is hard...harder than tony hawk, but more accurate as far as physics are concerned.
- PantherX, on 05/31/2008, -2/+5Yeah, I want that level in the next one.
- rancidrabbit, on 05/30/2008, -7/+17This is a skaters dream.
- fuze44, on 05/31/2008, -0/+2You nailed it. What skater hasn't driven past a water slide and wanted to skate it?
- utahnkid, on 06/01/2008, -0/+3That very quickly turns into a nightmare when he looks over the 50 foot drop. One of those dreams better left in your head.
- Dolomite, on 06/01/2008, -1/+2Agreed. Skateboarding is way too dangerous. I'm surprised so many are leaving positive comments. This is the exact type of behavior we diggers should be rallying to prevent.
- utahnkid, on 06/01/2008, -0/+1You're being sarcastic right..

- wayyy, on 05/31/2008, -3/+18Okay, Drama looks like Ted from Scrubs.
- atomsky, on 05/31/2008, -4/+9Hes not an old guy, hes Robs cousin. It was his 21st birthday and they were joking about him growing old and losing his hair so they shaved his head xP
- d0onut, on 06/01/2008, -0/+2Actually, he's not his cousin. He's just an actor pretending to be his cousin. They mentioned it in some review of the second season or something.

- skrapinov, on 05/31/2008, -1/+6Those guys are badasses.
- mictron3030, on 05/31/2008, -5/+15skateboarding and rollerblading are two completely different things. those guys with wheels attached to their feet should be able to do at least 20 foot flying squirrels at that waterpark.
- tomd123, on 05/31/2008, -3/+3I knew someone was going to hate on it.. tell me, you're a skateboarder right? and anyways, if what you say is true, why don't you just attach a skateboard to your feet.. plz think before you speak.
BTW, flying squirrels? LAME- mictron3030, on 05/31/2008, -3/+2how are you going to call a rip-off when they are totally different spots, and different sports? and i agree, flying squirrels are very lame. face it, rollerblading will never get the credit it thinks it deserves.
- kpwells, on 05/31/2008, -1/+4rollerblading < skateboarding.
- diceau, on 05/31/2008, -2/+3This is as bad as Bodyboarding VS Surfing.
Shut up. - ANT1138, on 05/31/2008, -1/+2It's more like surfing VS BMX 'cause bodyboarding is lame.
- IpecacNeat, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1Yo bro, nothing will ever be as gnarly as boarding bro. Blading is so lame. I would never do something so lame. I always do the most sick and gnarly stuff possible. I love looking cool. Surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding, basically anything where I can stand on some sort of board. Bro. I don't like attaching things to my feet. I don't even watch hockey, ***** lame bro. In fact. I don't even wear shoes. Shoes are so lame. Who does that anymore? I'll remain gnarly forever. ***** the mainstream, skate or die. Right bros?
- Seantacular, on 06/01/2008, -0/+1stfu you're not funny.
- tomd123, on 05/31/2008, -3/+3I knew someone was going to hate on it.. tell me, you're a skateboarder right? and anyways, if what you say is true, why don't you just attach a skateboard to your feet.. plz think before you speak.
- EquinnoxX, on 05/31/2008, -4/+13Wow. People still rock aggressive inline?
- tomd123, on 05/31/2008, -4/+2Yup, it's pretty underground though. But those who do don't do it because it's popular.
- shralpershralp, on 05/31/2008, -7/+1Binlining. How to end up with bent legs.. and look like a *****.
- daboy, on 05/31/2008, -1/+8I live like ten minutes aways from the White Water, the water park in Part 2.
And i've actually skateboarded with the one skateboarder in that video, Ryan Purcell. but that was a looong time ago.
they run an atlanta skateboarding blog at http://livinsick.com/
and right now the old video up at the top of the blog is one i shot of my friend Gary 5 years ago. weird. - WyldeJ, on 05/31/2008, -1/+4That's a sick video. The song is awesome.
- rileyhallwood, on 05/31/2008, -6/+7thats way less impressive, fruitbooting is ten times easier than skateboarding.
- ruzmutuz, on 05/31/2008, -1/+5While i'll admit that the videos were pretty good. I wouldn't say that it was a rip off, if skating at a similar place to some one else - not even the same place - is a rip off, then loads of skate vids rip each other off? Personally I think that the skate video is a bit more impressive, bigger drops etc, looks much more dangerous, but i'm a skateboarder so might just be biased. Also I don't think you can really compare inline and skateboarding, the things you can do are pretty different, so you'll end up with different thing. Not trying to "hate on it" by the way, just saying...
- jserio, on 05/31/2008, -0/+2That's awesome! The whole time I was watching the skateboarding video I kept thinking how much better it would be for rollerbladers to tackle the slides. Thanks for sharing.
- EwMo, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1The first video at 2:55 is the sickest trick out of both. Technical, but the guy comes out of the pipe...
- cuddleparty, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1that song fricken rules. anyone have any idea who it is?
- cuddleparty, on 05/31/2008, -0/+2okay, after a quick google search of the lyrics, the song in the vid is "Something Bigger, Something Brighter" by Pretty Girls Make Graves...and it was hidden away in my itunes. no wonder it sounded familiar.
- aydoubleyou, on 05/31/2008, -4/+4fruit booting is lame.
- AdmiralHalsey, on 05/31/2008, -3/+4fruitbooter... gross
- SteveCUBE, on 05/31/2008, -3/+1That's because blading is better. SAVE THE TREES
- RNEMESiS42, on 06/01/2008, -0/+1Ah yes, fruitbooters.
- rockefeller2, on 06/01/2008, -0/+2I was gonna throw a gay roller blader comment in when I first realized the vids you linked were not skateboarding. But after watching some of those beefy gaps and grinds they were doing I decided not to. Somewhat impressive. That massive tube was crazy. I didn't see any of those roller bladers doing fake ass grabs. God I hate that. Why TF do they grab, when the skates are attached to their feet?
- KnifeEdged, on 05/31/2008, -11/+7Sketchy! yeaaaaaa lol
those guys are nutsssssss.
Gotta love Robb and Big - makemoneynotart, on 05/31/2008, -1/+19I see this park on the way to Vegas all the time. A water park in middle of the desert failed -- you don't say?

- TeKoverride, on 05/31/2008, -2/+14I was hoping he'd be able to board slide that entire thing in the last part of the video :(
- Oranjy, on 05/31/2008, -2/+3That was ridiculously great.
'nuff said. - GaryP, on 05/31/2008, -10/+1"This is pretty much the worst video ever made"
- ufia, on 05/31/2008, -11/+3Skateboarding used to be a cool thing to do like 20 years ago. Skaters of today are riding the short bus.
- skatopia69, on 05/31/2008, -3/+3Why is that? That is such a stupid assumption you *****.
- dhaugen, on 05/31/2008, -4/+2***** you
- LeCollectif, on 05/31/2008, -2/+3Au contraire. I think in today's skating, the ante's been upped. The kids are way better and trying extraordinary stuff.
I'm a little old to be skating, but I still love watching it. - Pigeon, on 05/31/2008, -0/+2Not really.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByDpaUamjiM - davidnormal, on 06/01/2008, -1/+2Well, you know, when you start getting old and cynical you begin to think everything was cooler 20+ years ago, i.e.; back when you were young and still had an open minded appreciation for life.
Think of how cool that old bald guy who was going down that waterslide on his skateboard is, and then you realize that some people never give up there youthful spirit.- maadmonkey, on 06/05/2008, -0/+1Uhhh, if i remember the one episode of this show I've correctly they shaved his head and brought him to vegas because it was his birthday.
- W1LS0N, on 05/31/2008, -7/+5whoooooaaaa fish eye lens. i like how they've used that on a skateboarding video. nice and original.
- arrey, on 05/31/2008, -3/+2Its not a ***** skate vid , they stopped on their way to Vegas on the mtv show rob and big.
- kristoaster, on 05/31/2008, -3/+1Yeah, because skate videos are a well known hotspot for innovation and original thinking...
- RecoDesign, on 06/02/2008, -0/+1They dont use a fisheye lens just because its cool. the guy filming can get alot closer to the skater with the fisheye/wide angle lense without looking in the camera. idiot.
- boejangles, on 05/31/2008, -3/+13Is it wrong to want to see one of them go over the edge?... ya know just once... just to see...
- JesusHimself, on 05/31/2008, -0/+8No, not at all
- rypic7, on 05/31/2008, -2/+13stop saying sketchy.
- elambing, on 05/31/2008, -2/+1k
- fyrfox55, on 05/31/2008, -4/+17I miss Rob and Big :'(
- TheSeekerV2, on 05/31/2008, -9/+2buried because no one was severely injured.
- URnotheonly1, on 05/31/2008, -9/+2That was stupid. That was not trick, you could not get rowdy at all. Seems now days if the slow they camera down, everyone thinks its tough or extrema
- chaos7, on 05/31/2008, -13/+3those guys suck
- DOUBLEZER00, on 05/31/2008, -9/+3I don't skate but I like watching videos. That vid seemed kinda lame to me, except Danny - he was pushin it. Pretty awesome when he jumped that gap, had to of been a nice view...50 ft up. The rest of them seemed pretty...sketchy...like when he made a big deal about board sliding. That 'rail' was over a foot wide and he didn't even land that hard.
- element247, on 05/31/2008, -0/+6you play too much tony hawk.
- mocisme, on 05/31/2008, -1/+9that was..... what that word again?
- dafragsta, on 05/31/2008, -3/+8sketchy.
- phorty40, on 05/31/2008, -4/+4RIP rob and big
meaty and mini horse - dafragsta, on 05/31/2008, -4/+17Wow, I wonder what insurance company OK'd this ***** for Monster. There are a million things that could've gone wrong on the tubular waterslide. One trip over the edge is one too many. It'd pretty much mean certain death.
- Masna, on 05/31/2008, -0/+5That's part of being a skater: you're not a bitch.
- dhaugen, on 05/31/2008, -3/+8i guess im the only one here who skates so ill say right now they were probably ***** balls doing that, going over a quarter pipe to a 50 ft drop is gonna be scary
- moletimer, on 05/31/2008, -2/+2I have trouble building up the courage to go down a roll-in...these guys are nuts. Awesome vid. I'm happy to know I'm not the only skater on digg : )
- Fighter4rent, on 05/31/2008, -2/+0oh man that was a sweet video a just wish the stopped trying to overemphasize the danger all extreme sport are dangerous. we know this do what your good at skating not commentary
- bud38, on 05/31/2008, -7/+0uh... buttplug?
- Archaic1, on 05/31/2008, -0/+4go back to /b/
- 3leggedHorse, on 05/31/2008, -3/+3It's a bit sketchy. Seriously thou the old bald dude was awesome.
- pigducksheep, on 05/31/2008, -0/+5The old bald dude was not old and bald.
- Jumpeplowski, on 05/31/2008, -5/+4I salute these dumbasses.
- nugge7, on 05/31/2008, -1/+14OLD MAN STYLE!!!
- majortom1981, on 05/31/2008, -11/+1I hope they got permision for that. They probably made some serious scratches to the slides . This could cause whole sections of the slides to be replaced so I hope they got permision from the waterpark to do this.
- speedygonzalez, on 05/31/2008, -1/+10i wish punches could penetrate through the internet...
- LeCollectif, on 05/31/2008, -1/+3Nerd.

- Dbeneath, on 05/31/2008, -1/+2Yea and those damn kids should get off your lawn too huh?
- grovest4life, on 05/31/2008, -1/+1The slides are stainless steel not plastic like today's water parks.
- kenCed, on 05/31/2008, -1/+3"Is 'majortom1981' being offensive?"
