  • lyziwyg, on 05/30/2008, -12/+89The cool thing about this is that it seems actually dangerous, unlike normal skatepark vids which are in a controlled environment. Of course for kids skating, danger is bad, but it makes for a good video.

They all but disappeared completely during the 1980s -- too many injuries, too much insurance -- to have a resurgence in the late '90s and 2000s. Though they're totally different now, less bowls and keyholes, more grinds and inclines. But it's foolish to think that any skate park is a cakewalk. That's how you get hurt.

    Awesome video, and kind of makes that point. I'm glad the guys didn't just go nuts, but tested it out and tried different things to work up their courage. You kept hearing "sketchy!" for a reason! The buttboarding was more my speed, but also pretty damn sketchy too! The dust looked the problem. Thicker wheels, really soft, maybe even the off-road style would get you enough traction.
