I ended up taking out a skier who I was going faster than while sliding on the ground than he was on his two skis. I took the board off walked down the mountain and turned in my board for two skis.
A year later I took a lesson and haven't looked back since, and am trying to start a company involving snowboarding.

- bigp3rm, on 11/02/2009, -0/+3My friends grandparents live in Silverton. I have been up there a few times. Just a quaint little town tucked away. It's a dead end literally. If you are curious where it is, it's about 45 min outside of Durango. You can even continue on to Crested Butte if you are looking for another beautiful spot for some fun in the snow.

FTR: He did warn me, but I was having non of it at the time. I was only in France for two nights touring with a band so I thought I'd just go for it.
