- Couchy, on 07/31/2008, -2/+41Rodney Mullen is the only thing on digg i won't bitch about being re-posted every few months.
- inactive, on 07/30/2008, -2/+30He created street skating.
There is little doubt about that. - snowcrazy, on 07/30/2008, -1/+22Thank God for the Slo Mo feature on this site, without it you miss half of Rodney's magic.
- pprovo1, on 07/31/2008, -0/+20If you want a recent video check out Almost Round 3 hes doing WAYYY crazier stuff now
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPTtdPn-VSY - blackbelt88, on 07/30/2008, -1/+20One of the most impressive displays of balance I have ever seen.
- artefon, on 07/30/2008, -2/+14he not only skates but is also creative as hell
- chkdg8, on 07/31/2008, -1/+12You just witnessed god like powers at around 02:56.
- algaeturd, on 07/31/2008, -3/+9Actually, people like Natas Kaupus and Mark Gonzales were more important to street skating. Rodney Mullen never rode a street board until Rocco made him for the Rubbish Heap video. Before that, it was all finger flips and impossibles.
I realize that some of those tricks have trickled over, but look at modern street...handrails, big gaps and ledge tricks. Mullen couldn't do any of those and the handrail he did came 7 years after Gonz did the first boardslide on one. So you're wrong. Mullen did a kickflip first on a 7" board and Mark Gonzales did it over a trashcan on a 10" board in 1989.
Without Gonz, modern day street skating would not be around.
Mullen? CREATING street skating? Totally inaccurate on more than one level. Mullen mastered freestyle. no doubt about that. But his street career came as the result of freestyle dying in the skateboard market.
Them's facts. - McDiggity, on 07/30/2008, -2/+7Wow -- I thought some of that stuff could only be done in video games :)
- on9star, on 07/31/2008, -2/+7best. skater. ever
- sizbo, on 07/31/2008, -0/+5lefty and righty?

He never fails to amaze me. - Seph7, on 07/31/2008, -0/+4Anyone else go to watch a bit of it, and ended up watching the whole 7 minutes?
- leahpee, on 07/31/2008, -1/+5Holy. *****.
- jankind, on 07/31/2008, -0/+4Rodney Mullen also made it possible for us to skate in our basements on rainy days.
I got love for Per Welinder too. - Hateweaver, on 07/31/2008, -1/+5I wish to join the ranks of the secret army on Digg whose only job is to find out if an article is a repost and post a comment stating as such, along with an optional ridicule to the "stupidface" submitter for re-submitting the article. Do you want to know more?
- Gnar04, on 07/31/2008, -0/+4i dont care how many times i see Rodney, it always trips me the ***** out
- CYG101, on 07/31/2008, -0/+3Suddenly i feel like playing Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2

- TheR3dMenace, on 07/31/2008, -1/+4I will always Digg Rodney Mullen vids
- DirtySanch, on 07/31/2008, -0/+26:00 mins amazing style points right there. Very creative.
What do you call that a Dark side tail slide? - on9star, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2LOL, actually I do skate so just go back to your little Tony Hawk game. COnfused much? It's square, triangle, triangle, circle, down, left, X
- NeoSporin, on 07/31/2008, -1/+3I remember accidentally watching the Rodney Mullen video in THPS when I was in middle school. Its what got me into skating originally. Rodney Mullen is the god of freestyle skating.
- ethon, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2What the hell is that trick anyways?
- sizbo, on 07/31/2008, -1/+3Believe it or not, he actually bails sometimes (though I think this may be all of them):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5zZHCv4Wkk - P1um, on 07/31/2008, -1/+3He makes it look so easy, so fluid, almost like dancing.
- gilbitron, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2By far my favorite skater.
- unklesam666, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2the old ***** is the good *****! thaman is BAAAAAAYAAAAAAD!
- Table16, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2Haha, this guy made my jaw drop when I saw some of that on THPS but there's more in that video and he doesn't cease to amaze.
- Maximilian000, on 07/31/2008, -1/+310/10
- fas2, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2I thought there was no better video of him out there than the one submitted, but you proved me wrong. Thanks!
- thegoudster, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2Great vid. A lot of those clips are on one of the videos on THPS3.
- Jsnllnd, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2I wish he had some more recent stuff , he is skateboarding. Dugg for being a real legend.
- pprovo1, on 07/31/2008, -1/+3Check out the video that 411 did on Rodney Mullen and try and tell me that no one was influenced by Rodney. He didn't invent the olllie but he did invent every flip trick on a skateboard. Check out all those old Bones Brigade videos from the 80s
- taikahn, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2NO one will ever touch him, ever. Honestly, he not only pushed and defined a new generation of street skating, he changed street skating for ever. He is original to the point where not a single other pro skater can do 80% of what he does.
- WyldeJ, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2Who gives a ***** who created what? The videos ***** sweet. Can you not just watch and enjoy it?
- Chahrlie5, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2My ankles hurt just watching him.
- Perceptor, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2Rodney is the King!
- xrEE, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2If you have any interest in skating and haven't already seen this 100 times, shame on you, learn from the greats.
- Pigeon, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2Fakie front side flip late under flip?
- N3XUS, on 07/31/2008, -0/+2Rod is God.
As the saying goes... Some of this stuff was resused for Almost: Round 3. Daewon's part in this film is no less spectacular. It's sad that he hasn't had more development recently. - je12u, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1Speaking of dancing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7ivCnnjKfw
If you've never seen Junior in action I suggest you check him out. I know it's a bit off topic but I feel like skating and breakdancing share a certain element - whywait, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1he makes me want to skate again.
- jankind, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1The guy was doing impossibles before most people could even do kickflips. There was a point in either Bones 1 or Future Primitive where he ollied standing still, right when a dude was pushing a couch or some *****...it was like shin high, this ollie...We thought that was so ridiculously high back then. LOL
Dude was so ahead of his time. But I gotta say, Gonz will always be my all time favorite... - tre3rd, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1i wanna see him on marty's hoverboard b4 i go out
- iPoul, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1Owner of the famous kickflip and prolly 50% of all tricks you see people do today.
Dugg! - Iggins, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1Its as if he said "im tired of my tricks. i bet i can do them all manual in/manual out...." :)
- Kenzan, on 07/31/2008, -0/+1Kid's got talent.
