- louiebaur, on 05/26/2009, -2/+29Love the Nitro Circus stuff..
- roastedbagel, on 05/26/2009, -0/+25I don't agree with this. I think he genuinely enjoys what he does day to day. Plus the fact that he gives so much to the community and underprivileged children makes him all the more likable. Plus he cracks me up.
- aydoubleyou, on 05/26/2009, -1/+17Rob is a boss.
- ThaDRD, on 05/26/2009, -1/+9From his microphone you could tell that he got the wind knocked out of him.
- seanisftw, on 05/26/2009, -0/+8its called entertainment
- frsrblch, on 05/26/2009, -2/+9He missed the concrete.
- justdru, on 05/26/2009, -0/+6There's nothing like the expelling of air from the lungs and the struggle to regain it to signal success!
- ScottyAnimal, on 05/26/2009, -0/+5Well ya gotta look at it this way. MTV prob pays for most of this ***** cuz it keeps ratings up.
- Halsfield, on 05/26/2009, -1/+6I like the new fantasy factory show, but it just doesnt feel the same without big. Hopefully he makes a guest appearance for one of the shows? Some of the best rob + big shows were the ones where he and big made bets (time travel for instance). Big in the full 70's gear was hilarious.
Nitro circus is pretty incredible as well, it is really refreshing to see an extreme sports show that is just a bunch of pro people having fun instead of competing in a rigid time trial format performing series of tricks that everyone has pretty much seen before. It is amazing what they do just for the fun of it and not for a trophy or anything. - nysus, on 05/26/2009, -0/+5It ran from 2000 to 2002.
- CircleFusion, on 05/26/2009, -0/+4It wasn't *that* padded. He missed the thick pad and hit the thin wall mat, landing about a foot or so away from concrete. He's lucky he didn't break a rib or a clavicle.
- RussLieber, on 05/26/2009, -0/+4did anyone else have the most difficult time reading this
edit: ok maybe not the most difficult but pretty dang tough - inactive, on 05/26/2009, -1/+5You know what's dangerous? Living in Darfur.
I want to see them do that. - seanisftw, on 05/26/2009, -0/+3do you kiss your mother with that mouth
- pathy, on 05/26/2009, -0/+3I think it depends on the person and the blow to how long it will take to recover from it. I've had the wind knocked out of me after a fall and it didn't take long for me to cover, certainly not five minutes.
- mmittimm, on 05/26/2009, -0/+3He's got a genuine "nice guy" charisma that a lot of people lack on television these days. Not to mention he's something like 35 years old and get's paid for acting like a kid.
- Bic823, on 05/26/2009, -0/+2canadian link anyone?
- mmittimm, on 05/26/2009, -0/+2@mrzisme:
I think it helps to know the context, people get hurt on Fantasy Factory and Nitro Circus all the time. It's not that the guy was being a crappy friend, in fact they're probably more like associates than friends, but risking getting hurt is part of what they do.
If Rob was really hurt he would have called out and told someone that he was in bad shape and they would have cut the cameras and gotten help. He acted like it was awesome because A) It was awesome and B) If he'd freaked out then the whole shot is unusable.
It's not a weird psychology, it's television and it's entertainment. It's Dyrdek job to get hurt once in a while and it's Pastrana's job to act like it was awesome. There are other people on hand who's job it is to be concerned for Dyrdek's safety.
If you were upset by this I'd hate to see your reaction to the average episode of Jackass. - snoopykd, on 05/26/2009, -0/+2You're either drunk or foreign.
- eightyd, on 05/26/2009, -0/+2As long as Meaty's ok.
- ThaDRD, on 05/26/2009, -0/+2Do you think they would have us sit through 5 minutes of him regaining his ability to speak? Welcome to the magic of editing.
- defectDS, on 05/26/2009, -0/+1Unless it was just Mangina Timmy again...

(check the comments) - basickly, on 05/26/2009, -0/+1I think it's more just a desire not to embarrass the accidentee.
You gotta act like you didn't realize they rocked themselves, and that all you saw was the awesome dunk.
That gives the accidentee the opportunity to brush off the pain and hold themselves with pride after they catch their breath.
I believe if it became obvious that the accidentee was seriously injured the viewer would generally go into concern mode.
The man's exclamations of "that was awesome" are used to fill in what would otherwise be an awkward and pride crushing pause while the stuntman is busy recovering his breath and composure. - Eslamicolt3, on 05/26/2009, -1/+2Wow, you can tell that did NOT go as planned. It looks like they believed he'd kind of follow a falling arch trajectory, and what instead happened was Rob being hurled at the wall going 35 mph. He was a few feet from slamming into a concrete wall without a helmet. He didn't even hit the thick pads.
- zdwade, on 05/26/2009, -0/+1they dont do it for fun. well i guess they do but the main incentive is the paycheck.
- kjones555, on 05/26/2009, -0/+1I think you connection is ***** phork cuz I didn't have this problem...
Gotta love Robbie D. tho. - mmittimm, on 05/26/2009, -0/+1@mrzisme:
Did you read my whole post or just the last sentence?
You act like Rob got seriously injured or something. He clearly just had the wind knocked out of him. Not a big deal.
I honestly don't believe you about you're watching almost all of Jackass, as I've been watching for about 5 minutes now and Knoxville is already writhing on the ground in pain clutching his groin and the rest of them are standing around laughing at him. - thefredsociety, on 05/26/2009, -0/+1Great. The figurative context I was referring to was the manner in how I hoped things had have moved on from the days where people replaced their toilet paper with sandpaper and airbags with big blocks of concrete, all for entertainment purposes.
- CircleFusion, on 05/26/2009, -0/+1I am pretty sure ThaDRD means "out of breath" when he says "got the wind knocked out of him".
- Vosem, on 05/26/2009, -0/+1Not by much.
- zdwade, on 05/26/2009, -0/+1i liked big too. maybe they could give him his own show on the food network.
- cmf2071, on 05/26/2009, -1/+2Slam Dunk !!!
- phork, on 05/26/2009, -0/+1burried for 5 minute buffer and constant buffering while trying to play on a 1 minute video
- I3ill, on 05/26/2009, -0/+1At least you didn't try and spell Dyrdek. Good call.
- mtoto21, on 06/04/2009, -0/+1hurtin was a pun. way to over think it
- algaeturd, on 05/26/2009, -2/+2Wow. He hit a giant padded wall. Xtreme, bro.
- ogphat, on 05/27/2009, -0/+0Sorry guys and gals, but someone has been messing with my stuff. I can't believe how stupid i am coming off because of these post.
- basickly, on 05/26/2009, -0/+0... never mind it was a dummy.
- basickly, on 05/26/2009, -0/+0Holy *****, that looked a lot more painful than this video.
- robdyrdekpics, on 06/09/2009, -1/+0http://xcandyx.com/rob_dyrdek_leaked_sex_pics_tape ...
- basickly, on 05/26/2009, -1/+0Yeah I would definitely prefer that too.
Just saying why I think it happens hehe. - mrzisme, on 05/26/2009, -2/+1Thats whats wierd, the entire crowd knew he slammed himself, and the only one acting is his real friend. While the gesture has a kind intention. It's not honest, he knew something was up and chose to act like he didnt notice. Its awkward and dishonest. I'd rather have friends that are honest than have friends that try to save me face. If I ***** up, tell me, if I get hurt, act concerned, If i say something stupid, call me out on it, etc. Dont be a pussy friend, be an honest one. Thats what a true friend is.
- jessemoya, on 05/26/2009, -3/+2After the stunt went wrong they didn't look like professionals to me.
- mrzisme, on 05/26/2009, -1/+0@ mmittimm
I've seen almost all of Jackass. When they hurt themselves its clear and the guys don't start acting like they didnt see it. Take for example when knoxville gets shot in chest with a non-lethal bean bag from a shotgun. He recoils over in pain, the entire room is dead silent and concerned about his reaction. No one jumps up and cheers "that was amazing" they all knew it wasnt entirely as planned and acted like concerned friends.
I think the difference between Jackass and some of these new shows is that the jackass crew seemed a lot tighter personally. - chamorro, on 05/26/2009, -2/+0Error loading player. Error #2048
Robs still the man though, I wish I could drop 2 grand on remote control helicopters and just fly them to destruction one at a time just for the hell of it. (Scene from a Rob & Big episode) - uruururr, on 05/26/2009, -3/+1hmmm i get the warning but not the clip. digg me if i am not alone
- thefredsociety, on 05/26/2009, -6/+4Jackass was so 90s.
- mrzisme, on 05/26/2009, -4/+1The STUNT was designed to be entertaining, what bugs me is when the stunt goes wrong and the team overhypes the coolness factor of the stunt BECAUSE it went wrong. They know in the moment their partner is hurt so in an attempt to lessen the blow, they overhype the reality of what just happened. That is what bugs me, its not genuine and is immediately sensed.
