- Rudy165, on 11/19/2008, -0/+33I think many people are missing the board go under the rail and him go over while it's flipping, and how close he cuts it.
- Couchy, on 11/19/2008, -2/+32Nice to see some original street skating. Phew. Thanks!
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -1/+23I don't know how he can see where he is going with so much hair in his face.
- Devine122, on 11/19/2008, -1/+22he's good at kicking stuff, sweet vid
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -0/+19You just wanted to use that "go to a specific spot in the video" function. Don't lie...
- chimx, on 11/19/2008, -3/+17It's nice to see a skater not doing the same old crap: gap, stair set, flip trick combo, repeat. Skating has stagnated over the past 10 years, with the only innovation being the idea of "going bigger". This stuff reminds me of the technical stuff that was so popular in the 1990s. He's no Mullen, but it's nice to see someone trying to think outside of the box.
- Nephersir7, on 11/19/2008, -2/+16The move @ 1m 21 sec impresses me for some reason
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnENo8nm4vU#t=1m21s - Tomboys, on 11/19/2008, -0/+12Today I saw this kid on a skateboard with a camera videotaping this other kid on a skateboard doing tricks. I don't know who I was more impressed with the guy doing tricks or the guy filming while skateboarding.
- physco827, on 11/19/2008, -2/+14damn hippies......
- rileyhallwood, on 11/19/2008, -5/+16are you kidding? filming a line longlens looks terrible unless its done EXTREMELY well. fisheye lenses will never go away in the skateboard industry. you have no concept of the details in skateboarding, so you take it for granted. fisheye lenses allow you to get incredibly close to the skater, showing how clean the trick is. people just hate on fisheye lenses because they dont understand skateboarding.
- aimhelix, on 11/19/2008, -3/+14Need more cowbells.
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -7/+18When will skateboarders stop filming with fisheye lenses?
- Diggnabbit, on 11/19/2008, -0/+10Word is the word you"re looking for.
- Eisen4, on 11/19/2008, -1/+10I don't like skateboarding videos but this guy is good
- Sokkratez, on 11/19/2008, -1/+10It's like if Mike Vallely had a love affair with the hippie flip. Very nice.
- HumaneRobot, on 11/19/2008, -6/+14From what I can tell you get points for touching walls with your feet.
- emptyo, on 11/19/2008, -0/+8Uhhhh...Ok.
The "ollie-kickflippy-through-the-railing-to-manual-thingie" (that's a technical term, you don't have to concern yourself with it) was re-GODDAMN-diculous. - slim5234, on 11/19/2008, -0/+8Hobo........ or wizard?
http://i36.tinypic.com/el8vtg.png - tgc1, on 11/19/2008, -0/+7Am I the only one (I skate too... 'er I used to anyway) who is just astonished by some of those tricks?
- DirtySanch, on 11/19/2008, -0/+7Nope, people are just haters. The guy has his own style and it works, more power to him. I thought it was pretty awesome.
- leethefilmer, on 11/19/2008, -1/+8Every skateboarding video that gets on digg someone asks this every time. As a skate filmer I can tell you, never. You can't produce some of the same shots while filming long lens(no lens).
Think about the shot at :38. They have the fisheye angle and the long lens. Clearly the fisheye was better.
EDIT: rileyhallwoodrileyhallwood beat me to it. - teemingvoid, on 11/19/2008, -0/+7I suppose if you've never skated before, then I guess a kick flip seems more difficult... BUT think about the coordination involved. Its an entirely different style, incorporating terrain more than ever. If nothing else, he's artistic as *****
- opiv421, on 11/19/2008, -0/+6kung fu skateboarder. dugg.
- oep4, on 11/19/2008, -0/+6wtf? that is not the song.
- phybere, on 11/19/2008, -1/+7Original is the work you're looking for.
- GuntherMcBadass, on 11/19/2008, -0/+6Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley
- bulbasuar, on 11/19/2008, -0/+6You all should be looking for the nearest window to hurl yourselves from.
- cfeick, on 11/19/2008, -1/+7Does anybody know the title of the song being played in the video?
- selrahc, on 11/19/2008, -0/+6' is the punctuation mark you're looking for.
- gumhucker, on 11/19/2008, -0/+6Gypsy Skateboarding
- 360photo, on 11/19/2008, -0/+5Digg it for the old skool feel
- TommyTikal, on 11/19/2008, -0/+5Then you're mentally retarded. Congrats.
- Broschati, on 11/19/2008, -0/+5Legit stuff, keep rockin
- crushfan, on 11/19/2008, -0/+4At some point I thought he'd just leave the skateboard there and run around, kick some walls and hop on it again. Well, it could be cool, actually.
- MattFromSeattle, on 11/19/2008, -0/+4As someone who's skated for 25 of my 30 years on this planet, it's nice to see the mix of new and old school in his style. Lots of people will hate on it because he's not doing the most technical of tricks, but what he lacks in technical, he makes up in style. I love to see Vallely, Natas, Woodstock, and the other true skaters represented because there's more than just flips, rails, and gaps in skateboarding. Awesome vid!
- nerdjnerdbird, on 11/19/2008, -1/+5ONE PART SKATEBOARDING
ONE PART FREESTYLE WALKING
TWO PARTS AWESOME - Ramenhood, on 11/19/2008, -0/+4He isn't your average skateboarder, I thought the point was to stay on your board lol.
- mnortei, on 11/19/2008, -0/+4It's Jesus.
- MScrip, on 11/19/2008, -0/+4I use it all the time! No longer do I complain about a video's useless intro... or something cool happening in the middle, and have to sit through a bunch of ***** to see it!
- snackbidi, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3***** you all who're against the hippie music. Richie Jackson is the king of psychedelia and theres nobody who can do what he does. Death Skateboards: low key, high class.
- Atex55, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3Just because it's different doesn't mean it's a gimmick. Skating is all about being creative and this guy can do tricks off of anything. He's a street skater that uses stuff in the street to do tricks. It's just a different style that personally I like more. It's a breath of fresh air from seeing guys only ride in parks.
- leethefilmer, on 11/19/2008, -1/+4Yes.
- iRoy, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3His part in the Death video is better... with Idle Race as the background music.
- NeelxSarkar, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3tekzilla?
- crtjer, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3I think this is pretty much what skateboarding looks like in the late 60's maybe early 70's.
- n7ghthawk, on 11/19/2008, -1/+4could have done w/o the hippie music
but you did have kicks...
on the wall...
hmmm... - slim5234, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3Watch his latest part in And Now; he's definitely not a sideshow. The guy has all of the normal moves that most pros have but he prefers to do goofy ***** instead. I think it's a welcome break from all of the Rodney Mullen videos (no disrespect to him, he's just over hyped on digg).
- zzzpoohzzz, on 11/19/2008, -1/+3the attack - too old
- ONasty89, on 11/19/2008, -0/+2I forgot Jesus could shred so hard
- algaeturd, on 11/19/2008, -0/+2His part in And Now is a slap in the face to the number of other legitimate skateboarders that TWS could have offered that slot to.
It's gimmick skating and nothing else. How many times are you going to slap a pole and jam it?
It's knick knack ***** and nothing else. He doesn't deserve to be a pro, that's for sure. I'll respect your right to like him but he'll never be anything other than a doug brown or todd falcon kind of guy. -
