Would love to try this at some point in my life. Might need some Depends for the ride though...

Imagine snowboarding through fresh powder.... 1,000 feet above the mountains. Imagine surfing a wave that goes for hours... that's hang gliding.
It's safer, and easier, than you'd think. Why don't more people do it?
1. Fear
2. Time commitment (you have to fly once a week or so for a while, you'll *want* to fly every day)
Money's not on that list... it's only $4K-$7K to get into it, including lessons and equipment.
I started 2 years ago and have flown for 3 hours, flown 20 miles, flown to 10,000 feet above sea level, 5,000 feet above launch, and 7,000 above ground level.
Play WoW at night... hang glide while the sun shines, IMHO.

My only regret about learning to hang glide....not doing it sooner. I learned at 37. Should have started at 17. Safety-wise this sport compares very favorably to motorcycling and horse back riding, except that in this sport you can fly like Superman. Groundlings just don't get it.
