- serif69, on 11/17/2008, -2/+20God dam
- BXRWXR, on 11/17/2008, -2/+9I'd like to go tubing down that thing.
- Dinsdale77, on 11/17/2008, -4/+10Extreme....to the max!
- Harabeck, on 11/17/2008, -2/+8It's like a giant slide, by the title I thought it would be something steeper.
Of course, Ive never gotten my kayak up to 40mph, they certainly arent designed with those speeds in mind, maybe thats why this is so extreme? - BorsKaegel, on 11/17/2008, -0/+6... and you did it all in your undies. (With a Mt. Dew-loaded beer helmet.)
- 01010110, on 11/17/2008, -0/+4What they need to do is jetboat UP the dam
- CSHYDRASHOK, on 11/17/2008, -1/+5Looks fun, Give me and 18 pack and I'll do it!
- Straw, on 11/17/2008, -0/+4At least they didn't call them canoeists.
- EricAnderton, on 11/17/2008, -0/+3"Of course, Ive never gotten my kayak up to 40mph, they certainly arent designed with those speeds in mind,"
Exactly. This is one of those trips that starts with a call to your kayak's manufacturer. - noizeuk, on 11/17/2008, -1/+3That would be called their job.
- oldhick, on 11/17/2008, -0/+2It's not always one or the other...
- merkk, on 11/17/2008, -0/+2Well then the kayakers would be called 'on vacation'.
- MattB123, on 11/17/2008, -0/+2That looks pretty cool. A lot of man made features like this can be very dangerous because they are too symmetrical and the hydraulic created at the bottom can be impossible to escape (with your life - low head dams are good examples). That appears not to be the case here, or maybe it's the speed they generate that gets them through it. Anyway, I'd love to know more and see video. I also wonder how much trouble they are in from doing it.
- mandarin, on 11/17/2008, -0/+2Must be because of Powersauce energy bars. The bar with 6 kinds of apples...

- hiPpymIck, on 11/17/2008, -0/+2.. looks like extremely good fun tho
i think the daredevil plunge bit comes from the Daily Mails casual approach to accuracy - rumor, on 11/17/2008, -0/+2its 300 feet, but its not vertical or anywhere near it.
not all that impressive given feats of others, such as tao berman - Valisk61, on 11/17/2008, -1/+2To the average Daily Mail reader, that stunt is probably the *****-scariest stunt conceivable.
To the average digger it's... meh.
Either way.... Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! - fletchsd, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1Somwhow I can see that making it as a new sport in the X-Games.
- Rageous, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1The hydraulics at the end are freakin' insane... see how far the guy gets launched in the video?
Also, is this a first descent? - JMellissa, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1What a rush!
I've been kayaking once or twice and I really enjoyed it. I would NOT attempt this sort of thing! - styrchn, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1wow I'm getting a heart attack just watching the pictures. kudos for the guts to do it!
- noots, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1it's going to be like that escalator in london.
The people who own this dam are now going to have to spend *****-loads of money fencing and just generally keeping people off it. - 4321234, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1Insane in the Brianne!
- aimhelix, on 11/17/2008, -1/+2Balls.
- ultraseamus, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1Where can I get some dam bait?
I figured the setup to use that line would never come, so I just threw it out there, it is not every day you see a dam article from dailymail. - inactive, on 11/17/2008, -1/+2Video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVFA1wmLmpI - Sandman666, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1Holy *****. I NEED to do this.

- AllSt4r, on 11/17/2008, -0/+0Now the water that we drink is dirty =(
- Ki77erB, on 11/17/2008, -0/+0Yeah, but can they jump a shark?
- NobleWolf, on 11/18/2008, -0/+0"Fascist agenda rubbish newspapers"?
Grow up. - jonnybo, on 12/14/2008, -0/+0Could be fun on a bivvy bag when it freezes over :-) Reckon you'd get well over 40mph then...
- rebump, on 11/17/2008, -0/+0I could do that...
...if I didn't have diarrhea. - bermudianguy, on 11/17/2008, -2/+2I see what you did there .
- borez, on 11/17/2008, -2/+1Ok digg me down, together we'll all make Digg a place for tabloid ***** newspapers to thrive. If that's your mentality, if you like supporting fascist agenda rubbish newspapers then good luck to you. Carry on.
- haikuFU, on 11/17/2008, -2/+1The only beer that comes in an 18 pack tastes like rat piss. Why not drink something high quality for your last drink?
- jeddyftb, on 11/17/2008, -5/+3Looks like the guy at the bottom is not having a good day.
- alclone, on 11/17/2008, -12/+9That ***** is for pussies. I ventured into the deep depths of Molten Core with 39 other men and women to combat the evil forces that seek to destroy this world.
- dynamiks, on 11/17/2008, -5/+1sucker beat me
- merkk, on 11/17/2008, -10/+4I wouldn't call that brave. Go look at the fire fighters trying to control the fires in California. That's brave.
- inactive, on 11/17/2008, -7/+1for a moment there i thought they were making daredevil 2, whew
- borez, on 11/17/2008, -9/+3@ScottMcIntyre : Please stop submitting stories from the Daily ***** Mein kemp, why not just submit everything from the news of the world, the star, and the Sun as well while you're on it so we can turn Digg into a complete antiquemedia tabloid Britfest?
- neo991lb, on 11/17/2008, -9/+2I could do that ***** are you kidding me?
- kimsun, on 11/17/2008, -9/+0I have no sympathy for these boaters... there were probably 50 "No boating" signs about, they were clearly on drugs.
- ajooman, on 11/17/2008, -15/+2yea right that ***** is pussy
