- paulexander, on 12/28/2007, -0/+66That was the manliest thing I have seen on here in a long time.
I'm gonna need a minute here... - GoatRoper, on 12/28/2007, -0/+53How about being one of those boats: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRGacDGUGtE&feature ...
- Hoogie7Dowser, on 12/28/2007, -1/+43*****.
Here are better angles, with extra footage of the other 2 flybys the blue angels did.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7rAUu8djZ4 - Brian48216, on 12/28/2007, -1/+26Dugg for not taking a perfectly good opportunity to rick roll people
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -1/+24jet > bird
- Sornos, on 12/28/2007, -0/+20The poop deck will earn its name.
- sfrench, on 12/28/2007, -0/+18The entire week they were doing practice runs over the Digg office as well. I took my computer up to the roof and watched a couple passes along with the Airbus A380 that did 3 or 4 circles over San Francisco.
- jimmyjones1000, on 12/28/2007, -0/+17Imaging being asleep in one of those boats when that happened...
- mcnab32, on 12/28/2007, -3/+19Anyone else's nipples get hard watching that?
Dugg for awesomeness - whiteboy, on 12/28/2007, -3/+19unless that bird has a wingspan the length of the plane (56 ft), i think your depth perception might be off just a bit.
- asskicker32, on 12/28/2007, -0/+16*****
awesome - actorboy, on 12/28/2007, -3/+15Yeah, because calling for the judicious use of superior military power equals being against superior military power. Idiot.
- YZBot, on 12/28/2007, -0/+11Some of the masts on those sailboats are higher than the jet was flying. That's insanely cool!
- nestcrw, on 12/28/2007, -1/+12I saw the blue angels at the annapolis show for the first time. My jaw was open for an hour.
- lilsiamboy, on 12/28/2007, -15/+26poor bird.
- Brian48216, on 12/28/2007, -3/+10I guess you're just a great example of no child left behind.
I'm liberal. Thought this video was ***** awesome. Massive balls to fly that low that fast. - retral, on 12/28/2007, -0/+7No, but I did get goosebumps.
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -0/+6its sad that since 9/11 most of the great american airshows have had to close down for security reasons, dallas used to have a similar one every year with C130's and everything at love field till 9/11.
- SirRX7, on 12/28/2007, -0/+6I too am from Pensacola and the Blues are an everyday occurance here but imagine if you will my first day in Pensacola.
My sister in law picks me up at the airport. Driving along nice and quietly until we drive across a set of train tracks. Just as we get on the tracks one of the Blues flies by pretty damned low. I thought my first day in town was my last on Earth. I expected to hear and feel the slam from the train. My sister in law got a chuckle out of it and I damned near thought I was gonna have to change my shorts. - asskicker32, on 12/28/2007, -0/+6I was there for that!!!!
the video footage from my camera phone didnt come out like that, though - majortom1981, on 12/28/2007, -0/+6I will get dugg down for this but I have had an f-14 fly pretty close to with its afterburners on. Now that was sick. ( my father worked for grumman on long island and the test pilots would do that just for kicks)
The blue angels do this all the time as part of their show don't they? - fukawi2, on 12/28/2007, -0/+6Out of $hitting itself?
- mwrl, on 12/28/2007, -2/+7No there was not a bird strike. You saw a seagull diving down into the water.
- nsanidy, on 12/28/2007, -0/+5I said exactly what the girl in the video said: "...*****."
- spudnic, on 12/28/2007, -3/+8Nice compilation of the Red Arrows, Britain's equivalent
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNOzOc27PqA - Visk, on 12/28/2007, -0/+5I completely did not expect that
/sarcasm - ShadowdStranger, on 12/28/2007, -0/+5I live in pensacola, home base of the blue angels and we used to go out and watch them fly almost every week (I even know 3 ex-pilots), really amazing pilots doing some amazing things.
- venicerocco, on 12/28/2007, -0/+4Not supposed to eat 'em.
- juniorjj, on 12/28/2007, -0/+3GT's right. It's a condensation cone. Has nothing to do with breaking the sound barrier.
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -2/+5Huh?
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -2/+5jet = -bird
They cancel each other out. - t3rmv3locity, on 12/29/2007, -0/+3here we go:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHklGtW3rwU - leftfoot, on 12/28/2007, -1/+4Ahhh, the sound of 2 GE-402 turbofans. =D
Great post. - patrflav, on 12/28/2007, -9/+12to anyone who doesn't get that, a bird is seen killed right at the start of the video as soon as you see the jet
- spudnic, on 12/28/2007, -2/+5You can swear all you ***** like Captain Capslock.
Move along now, might be some Nascar on for you watch while you ***** your sister. - nsanidy, on 12/28/2007, -0/+3Wow.
That is all. - epuiatti, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2That vid puts to rest all those comments about hitting the poor bird....
- K3ITHK, on 12/28/2007, -2/+4http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prandtl-Glauert_singu ...
- retral, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2They were flying subsonic, so it wouldn't be *that* terrible. Now, if they were doing a supersonic low altitude flyby - THAT would suck.
- Dylson, on 12/28/2007, -1/+3This is awesome.
- santiago1, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2 A digg for you for making me laugh!
- unearth, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2Insert gay joke here
- GTJacoby, on 12/28/2007, -1/+3Subsonic...not transonic. It it were, most of the windows in those boats would have been blown out. Probably some office windows within a few miles as well.
Great video though. DIGG for kickin ass. - Spo8, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2Dugg up because it made me picture an epic battle between a fighter jet and a gigantic mutant bird.
- S1ngular1ty1, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2I was in a library when a jet accidentally went supersonic overhead while taking off from a touch and go airstrip and it shook the entire building. It sounded like a bomb went off outside.
- spudnic, on 12/28/2007, -3/+5See I'm getting dugg down - it's not a rickroll!
- harlowsmonkeys, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2Really? So how did they manage to make the plane run at double speed while EVERYTHING ELSE in the video runs at normal speed?
- int10h, on 12/28/2007, -0/+1Go back to YouTube
- Section1, on 01/02/2008, -0/+1Not of that video, but stage 6 is hosting a few Blue Angels videos, and the quality is very good, this one seems the coolest to me, have a look.
http://www.stage6.com/user/pete3000/video/1856304/ ... - AMCer, on 12/28/2007, -0/+1Yes, Digg, Thanks for the block feature!
