- stoanhart, on 10/18/2009, -1/+8Base jumping is extremely dangerous, and generally not attempted until the jumper has logged hundreds of skydives and taken courses in base jumping. There is so little time to correct mistakes, and you've got walls to deal with. I was looking at the website of a base course, and they actually recommended that you speak to all of your loved ones, explain to them why you are doing this, and get your affairs in order, just in case.

I'm all for getting a rush, but how about appreciating the natural sounds of the location... it looks like a beautiful spot, that should be appreciated at the same time, right?

- leland1, on 10/18/2009, -0/+2Looks like fun. It looks a bit riskier going back up -- depending on a tree branch as a hoist device to lift each base jumper back to the surface -- than base jumping to the bottom of the cave.
Yikes! What if one of those hand-sized spiders gets hungry and jumps on the person for a meal during the ride up? I can see a small flock of swallows flying around the mouth of the cave -- hopefully there's little risk of getting swallows caught in the canopy of the parachute, but maybe jumping into a flock of swallows on the way down? :-)
